Far too much competition in the Sheema Classic this year for Eastern Anthem to pull off that from last to first charge successfully again, like he did in 2009. Much tougher horses in the field this season, IMO.
When did William Buick take over riding Dar Re Mi for Jimmy Fortune? Buick mad an outstanding ride on Dar Re Mi in this race. The best performance of the 8 race card, IMO.
And once again, with that "I've got to run off and try to lead by 20 lengths mentality," Presious Passion run's himself right out of contention. That's about 2 or 3 straight races that he's done that in. Granted, he held his own against Conduit in the B.C. Turf, but this horse runs himself out of far more races than he wins. IMO. That's why I'll never bet dollar one on him.
I knew they were making a mistake sending this mare off at 9-1. I played Dar Re Mi to win, and Spanish Moon to show. I just missed on Spanish Moon. But Dar Re Mi has always been able to more than hold her own with the boys.
On Spanish Moon, I meant to say I played him to place. In the U.S., at OTB, there wasn't any show pool racing for any of the Dubai races. Which I really didn't understand with such large fields in every race?
