There's lots of boys out there with long hair, and if you're judging by voice actors, then by golly, why don't you call Edward Elric from FMA or Captain Hitsugaya from Bleach a girl? They're all voiced a woman (Romi Park)!

And this isn't the first time Kaida Yuki voiced a boy. She's renowned for male voice parts.

In the context that I was talking about, it was more that America, kept trying to play China and the USSR off one another. America had two communist enemies, get them to fight each other so you don't have to, simple logic. Sadly for the shippers out there it worked. @CountessTimpani the funny thing about china is that if you read the origional character descriptions by the author, China's character was created to be either male or female. It's one of the main reasons a lot of fanfiction writers portray him as a girl, and a lot of fanartists, too. :)

It doesn't help that even the actual anime and manga make fun of China for being girly. There's an episode where America is early and discovers England was the one who drew Germany, Italy and Japan on the board. Then America decided to draw, the rest of the Allies were disgusted with America's drawings, Ivan wanted to make a hole into the board with his pickax and China said, "I'll draw from now on!" and drew a Chinese woman on the board. Everyone was like "IS THAT YOU!?"

@hinata457678 i belive the eye symbolizes the losses in the opium war and the mongolian wars. Those two events have left the scar along Yao's back ( in fanart, his eye. since most can't show the scar under the clothes)
