  • btw how to care after sunbeds? x

  • @sexyxbarbiexgirl Exfoliate a lot, and put LOTS and LOTS of thick cream on to keep your skin soft. If your skin is dry, you don't tan evenly. Also the drier your skin, the faster it exfoliates and the faster you loose your tan.

  • haahaa ok thanks for your advise xx

  • @sexyxbarbiexgirl No problem:)

  • oil*

  • hello dear, I really like your this video just AA++

btw what do you think about baby oir to wear when you go to sunbeds?

I heard that some people get good tan after thiss so please any advise xxx

  • @sexyxbarbiexgirl Thanks hun. No oil should be applied during tanning....ever. That is looking for trouble. It will be like deep frying chicken. That is exactly what will cause your skin to burn.

  • @sexyxbarbiexgirl Also if the tanning bed people get an oil slick on their bed and can't get if off, and it damages the acryllic, you will be thrown out of the salon, and not be able to go back.

  • Wat about radiation? And skin cancer? And premature aging? My salon (which I jus use the versa spa spray tan) has a sign that tells u about all of the risks of using tanning beds.

  • @booshiebear101 I've answered this question already hun, just read some replies to this exact same question from other people:)

  • There is no safe tan. End. Of. Story.

  • @Rafedile Yep, and life is lethal too. We WILL all die one day. Nobody gets out of here alive.

  • You wasted over two minutes of your vid just chatting...

  • @G7130 No kidding, I love to chat. My oldest subbies love to hear about stuff in my life, or things that I experience. I like to please my special old die harder subbies that has been around since the beginning:) If you don't have time to waste I don't think youtube is the place for you....

  • have u tried pro tan, dream tan or jan tana? if you do, do you know which one gives the best color and longest lasting ?

  • @dashawtyuwish4 Yes hun, I have used all three those products for bodybuilding competitions. That is the only thing they are for. You do NOT want to go anywhere near those thing. Those are not self tanners for normal people. My skin tone is medium tan, and those products mae me look like an african American. I use foundation for African American skin, when I use those for stage.

  • Wow what an amazing video! It's not an understatement when I say I've been wanting to hear this kind of information for years. I've been going to tanning beds for a long time, on and off and very sparingly, but had absolutely no idea how to actually use them. I have had problems with overexposing and getting itchy and bumpy spots. And I don't have to use a lotion? Amazing! I'm gonna start over ASAP and let you know my progress :D Thank you so much for this video.

  • @macosophy You are so very welcome. I am so happy I did this video. I have had so many people write me over and over how well they were doing and how much this video has helped them, and How they will never burn in the sun again. Just be stubborn, I figured out a way to get those sunbed people off my back with the damn lotions they keep on wanting to sell me. I told them I am allergic to it, and not one word about the lotions anymore. They put it on my file, and no more harassing:)

  • @hijabwhite Good for you!!! I am impressed that you did some research yourself and didn't run to the bloody doctor, who would have given you cortisone cream and told you to stay out of the sun. You are obviously a smart chick:) Loooove it!!!

  • lol, ur video is amazing, u have a great attitude... love it.

Can I just ask tho, I have very pale skin but i have yellow undertones. I don't get a tan when i'm outside and I have had 3 sessions in a tanning booth. How often can I go? I started on 6mins and continuing with that. will it take me a long time to get a tan?

    xx

  • @SpanishBaby85 Hey girl, glad you enjoyed:) People with yellow undertones usually tan faster than people with pink undertones, since you have stronger pigment. You are doing it right. Don't go more than 3 times a week, and once you have the color you want, you can only go once or twice a week to maintain it. I haven't been on the sunbed since September, and I'm amazed at how white I am. I forgot exactly how pale I used to be. I used to wear the palest foundation in every make.

  • my town only has a turbo bed. im a classic ivory does this mean i cant use it at all or just not for 10mins would it do anything if i went on for 1minute?

  • @4x4girly Hey sweetheart. Haven't spoken to you in a while!! No you can definitely go on a turbo bed. In fact the turbo beds give better color. It kinda gives a chocolaty color in stead of orange. You just have to take it really slow, and build up VERY slow. You can start with 2 minutes. You will be a little pink for the first 2-3 sessions. After that, don't go up more than a minute a time. And every time you go up a minute, stay with the minute for 2-3 sessions:)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Thank you :-)

  • you are so sweet!. i have never been tanning before but i was actually thinking about going soon, there is a salon near me that is $20 a month unlimited tanning so i thought hey why not give it a try. i am fair skin im not pale like a ghost but i am very light skinned and im worried about getting orange i dont want to be very dark i actually love my milky complexion and in the summer i get tan not red but my legs are so white its always hard to get them tan. anyway i just subscribed! :)

  • @THEREALBARBIE89 The bloody legs always seem the hardest to tan. I wish they would make a tanning bed, just for legs, LOL Let me know how it goes:)

  • My legs are the hardest to tan. Everything else takes so well.

Also, I use to have amazingly soft skin. I started going tanning and did so for a while & with all the best moisturizers I could never get my soft skin back like it was. I just started tanning again & I bought the "Paint it Black 50X" lotion (off eBay). I'm amazed. My skin hasn't been this smooth since before I 1st started tanning. I wouldn't recommend using them, but for me in this particular instance I'm extraordinarily pleased. :)

  • @BDubXOne Well I am happy for you, and my legs are always the last to tan. Reason for that, is that we shave or wax our legs, regularly and therefore exfoliate them a lot more often that the rest of our bodies. Also after some more research into tanning bed lotions, I found out that selftanners make your skin photosensitive and that is exactly what makes your tan more intense. However, that is also the thing that causes cancer.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle

I would never agree with using those self-tanners or indoor lotions just as I wouldn't recommend majority of the most popular moisturizers, cosmetics, and toiletries on the market because of all the crazy unnecessary chemicals that are in everything. Its ridiculous. I could help with my experience with the bronzers though to help start me off as I have a deeply uneven tan. I gave in, but don't plan on making it a habit. Im very health & environmentally conscious. :)

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle

:P I have yet to do it, but I've thought of just sticking by bottom half in the bed just so my legs can have their own dedicated time for exposure. :P

I like using Vit. E, Aloe, Shea & Cocoa butter for moisturizing. I was thinking of lathering it on right before I go into the bed so that the warmth will help penetrate my skin. Rather than earlier in the day microwaving it. :P Have you had any specific experiences with that?

  • @BDubXOne Nope I just moisturise my skin everyday, and again at night after I've taken a bath, and had been on the sunbed.

  • I used to use tanning beds forever ago but I then heard how bad it was so I stopped AND I used to but that stupid expensive lotion!! UGH!!! You are one helpful lil lady, this was very informative, thank you! xxG

  • @LovePeaceandLipGloss Very little people actually knows how their own bodies work. If they spend the time researching it, not only will they find that it is the most exciting thing to study in the whole universe, but also people won't get so caught up in the media, that can take a story and pull it completely out of context. What better way to get people to buy self tanners, than to create fear in them? And self tanners screw up your liver/kidneys in the long run. They get absorbed in the...

  • @LovePeaceandLipGloss blood stream, and the only way to get the toxins out of your blood, is through your liver and kidneys. Can you imagine what those two organs are going to look like after 10-15 years of having to get rid of that shit in your bloodstream?

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle Wow that's crazy! Try telling that to all the girls who are now obsessed with fake tanning because they've been brainwashed into thinking that using sun beds will give them skin cancer! Oh my...

  • Thanks for this. I'm about to start my first tanning session really soon and was looking all over for creams and lotions

  • @bodine1231 OMG no, don't go wasting your money on THAT stuff! Rather spend it on make up, LOL

  • i love tanning im from Jersey..lol ive been tanning for years im very thin im a male im italian and have olive skin tone but my stomach and torso and face and neck are ALLWAYS tanner then my arms and legs and i have a tough time getting my legs and arms tanned why? and i also agree with thos golash creams i hate them i go "dry" and i love it i love u soo much

  • @mattmatt190 Thank you sweetheart. Okay so you are not the only one. I have EXACTLY the same problem and so do every other person out there. So here is how I get my tan even. In the summer when I go out in the sun, I will put sunscreen on all the tanned parts, but I leave my legs and arms without it for at least an hour before I put sunscreen on. After a couple weeks of doing that and staying on the sunbed, my body evens out and is the same all over.

  • @mattmatt190 part 2. I think the reason our legs/arms don't tan as easily is because it is the most exposed to the sun, much more than the rest of our bodies. Therefore the skin is much stronger and has to tan much longer to see results. The more pigment you produce the harder you tan and the harder you burn. That is what prevents skin cancer, that people don't understand.

  • do thirty minute beds really not work? they're about the same thing as level 2's, and it works for my stomach usually, and my face...so how do they not work? care to explain this, because i'm confused??

  • @Sabby9523 If you like them and found a good one, then keep doing what you are doing. I just find that it is a waste of money, and since you pay for minutes, you can get faster and better results with a 20 minute bed. If you are an Ivory or fair skin, you are welcome to use the 30 min. bed. but I can promise you, it will only get you so far. A medium skin color will get absolutely nowhere in that bed. Unless you just like to lie there for 30 minutes. I don't have the patience or money for

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle that. The longer you can lie in a bed, the weaker the bulbs usually are. So you will get the same color on a 30 min bed, if you lie on it for 30 minutes, that you will get on a 20 minute bed for 20 minutes. You do the math over a period of one year.

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle so if i just pay for visits not minutes would it be worth it? because i dont pay for minutes, just visits. i'm very fair. and i've been going for 6 or seven minutes to start. do you think that is good on a thirty minute bed? i have been listening to your tips about looking at your stomach and that seems to work. so after i start going for like 15 minutes, should i change to a 20 minute bed? for like 7 minutes? or something?

  • @Sabby9523 Hunnybun, I can not tell you what to do. I do not reccomend the thirty minute beds, because they are rediculously weak and unneccesary in my opinion. You start with 7 minutes on a 30 min, bed. I start for 3 minutes on a 20 minute bed. I work my way up and never go more than 14 minutes anyway. I prefer going more often for less time, than less often for longer periods. Most of the 30 minute beds are old technology anyway. None of the newer salons keep them anymore.

  • what is the best tanning lotion that you recommend?

  • @Sabby9523 I don't reccommend any tanning lotions whatsoever. it is just a gimmick. Check out my other tanning video that explains more detail on that:)

  • your link isnt working

  • really? You are the first person telling me this. That makes me wonder if anyone even watched these videos, or whether youtube is just full of crap for now. If you can't get to it, go to my list of favorites. He is listed in there, and just click on the video. It will play for you right on my page. You HAVE TO watch it.

  • His videos are all gone....

  • W-H-A-T!!!!! Please don't say that. OMG I don't want to go and make a video explaining all this crap, and start another war on youtube. Sheesh, what on earth happened I wonder?

  • His account was suspended. I guess people really can't handle the truth!

  • aww geez people are nuts. Whats his name? maybe I can google him and find somethings

  • It's Dr Mercola. I think those retards must have flagged him after I sent everybody to go watch him. Another very imformative smart man bites the dust because people can't handle hearing what they don't want to hear!

  • He's changed his youtube name....look up Mercolasvideos....

  • I think he had two accts...different and older videos...

  • it's back! thank goodness... REALLY interesting!

  • @iwkapl What is back? That video? That would be so awesome!

  • @thebarbiewithmuscle yes I just checked it again last night and it worked for me =]

  • @iwkapl OMG I am soooo happy, thanks for letting me know:)

  • Just to stir the pot a bit more, how many of you knew that estrogens were on the same list of carcinogens as solar radiation? So, all you ladies that are sooo scared of getting skin cancer from the sun, shouldn't you be be talking to your doctor about having your ovaries removed?

What about birth control pills? Don't many of those contain estrogens? Are you willing to risk getting breast cancer just so you can have frivolous sex? Shame on you!

  • Well that's an easy fix -- snipsnip! Now it's his problem. HAHA!

  • HE was just on Dr oz- pushing is kilz drink lol! All promoted fear is based on profits ---every decade it a new biggie ooo this will kill you! what ever happen to common sence? When the tv is shouting at me what will kill me- i just CLICK new channel- fear is a easy way to controll people. And if the earth is in such a mess and food is so bad why are we living longer than our parents and grandparents? food for thought- love shelly...eat smart-love a lot and MOVE!

  • Very few people are brought up to think for themselves. It is much easier to follow the crowd, then you can blame someone else for anything that goes wrong, and you never have to be responsible for anything. Did you not know that, LOL

  • Don't forget about consequences -- there are none of those anymore either!

  • Part 4:...Most tanning bads make use of magnetic ballasts that emit cancer-causing electromagnetic field (EMF) rays, only a few are designed with electronic ballasts that are safer to use. For more info check out his YT channel, people, or his site. Dr.Mercola has a lot of great info on a lot of subjects! :o)

  • Hi hun thanks for all your input. Talking about magnetic fields. Since I am killing off the whole nation here on youtube:) I thought it was important to let people know that those same magnetic fields in sunbeds, are also in cellphones. So if you talk on a cellphone, you can also die of brain cancer. Let's see if someone replies to this:) Looks like I started world war 3 does't it, LOL. For real, I sooo love human beings, they are still the most interesting, funny creatures ever made!

  • LOL :o)

  • He also sells his own sunbeds for around $2500 if you want to go that route and he provides a list on his website of salons that have just removed the magnetic balasts and inserted electric ones! Dr. Mercola does recommend sunbeds over orally taking vitamin D which is VERY easy to overdose on.

  • I know hun, I've been subbed to him for a long time.

  • Part 3: ...Increase in vitamen D production will prevent far more cancers, than not doing it an prevent only one. Its all about BALANCE people. Again, he does NOT support the 'normal', most common tanning bads (that are in most tanning salons) at all, those are clearly you need to AVOID. Only when getting natural sunlight isnt possible, you can use a tanning bed as an alternative, but use a SAFE one! ...(see part 4)

  • Part 2:...that sunlight (UVB - not A) causes your skin to create Vitamin D3, this in turn prevents many diseases, such as different types of cancer and other diseases. People, avoid getting burned, but dont shut the sun out of your life. You want to get enough sun exposure to turn a light shade of pink (each day), any more could cause melanoma, but as far as cancers go, it is a milder form and more easily detectable and treatable alot of the time. (see part 3)

  • Part 1: Dr.Mercola is a well-known physician and nutrition expert and I've been his long time subscriber and a big fan. In his vid he is not talking about the 'disadvantages of not having a TAN' as you said in your vid. Tan is not the issue. Vitamin D is the issue, the amazing benefits of it in particularly through safe sun exposure. He supports and encourages the NATURAL SUNLIGHT. He explained in his vid (as well as many other of his vids and articles, ... (see part 2)

  • So nicely said!! But I do have some questions which I hope you'll be able to answer:

    1. Is it true that you shouldn't go tanning with makeup on? (sbd told me you get re spots if you do)

    2. What about deodorant?(it's said to leave discoloration marks)

    3. How long should I wait to get a shower after I tan?(I always take a shower before I go to tanning salon)

    4. Can I put any kind of crea on my body right AFTER I sunbathe? How longshould I wait?

Thank you so much. I'm sooo going tanning haha

  • 1. I go tanning with make up on all the time. There is no way I'm leaving my house without make up. How would I flirt my way out of a speeding ticket with no make up on?

    2. That unfortunately is kind of true. The deodorant will block the rays and sometimes that skin will be lighter than the rest of your body. It doesn't bother me though, since I don't walk around with my arms in the air for all to see:)

  • 3. Showering does not affect your tan at all like they say. The rays reach the melanin, and they change in your skin overtime after the rays have reached them. You can shower or bath right after you tan.

    4. You can do that, but you don't need to. Just moisturize once a day everyday, and exfoliate 2-3 times a week, and that's it. If it is something you like to do however, you absolutely can! Or you can go and shower and then moisturise. Whatever you like to do, is perfectly fine.

  • you are so full of knowledge - never apologize for sharing this with us!!! we appreciate YOU!! :)

  • Well hunnybun, you just went and made my day:) People like you guys, make all this crap sooo worth doing. Anyway, I love being controversial. That is what makes me who I am:) LOL

  • OMG, I love your username!!! :)

  • OMG...thank you soooo much for this video...and thank you for recommedning Dr. Mercola's chanel...I'm going to stay up all night watching his videos. I've said this before and I'm going to say it again: I'm so glad I've found your chanel on you tube, it has transformed my life...thank you, thank you, thank you...

  • You know what, it was actually auntmaumet that introduced me to him. I am very glad you found my channel too, and it makes my heart sing if I can make a difference to someone,

  • My mother-in-law and her father LOVE this doctor so much. Now they are health nuts! Fruit cakes! If they love him - he must be good!

  • should u put on an SPF? i thought tanning beds gave off UV rays like the sun

  • Hunnybun your body needs sunlight to make Vit D to prevent breast cancer. And no you don't need SPF on the sunbed. You can choose, don't tan and get breast cancer, or tan and maybe bet skin cancer. More people die of breast cancer than skin cancer.

  • I developed an allergy to sunlight after having my third baby! Weird...I always knew I must be a vampire or something! Anyway--went to dermatologist...she gave me three options to handle this! Stay covered head to toe when in the sun (not an option for me...number 2--ALWAYS take an anti-histimine 30 minutes prior to going in sun...number 3--tanning beds early in the year (as in Feb-ish) to develop a tolerance to sunlight!...that's def the best option for me!

    xoxox

  • Hi hun, yes I've heard of this before. Luckily allergies can be cured by introducing the allergen in small doses, till your body does not respond to it like that anymore. Sunbeds have certainly saved my life. Did you watch the video of dr Mecola on tanning and cancer? What do you think?

  • It's along the same lines as allergy shots. Often times they are inducing a small amount of the allergen in controlled doses. They just don't tellyou!

  • We will watch all the videos you make -- you don't have to jam it into one if it doesn't work out. My fever broke so I'm going to get out of the house tomorrow and go tanning! I am so excited....I can feel the warmth now...

  • Enjoy hun, I am so glad you are feeling better! Finally. don't go to the gym just yet. Wait till Friday, so you don't fall back and get sick all over again.

  • I will listen, but it is very hard not to go! I love it so much. I may have to bribe myself with shopping again!

  • Hmmmm, then we can get some eyecandy as to what you picked up, LOL
