Even with Trevor Rabin and the bright lights and BIG stage...this song suffers without JON ANDERSON. There's a reason the 90125 album was a "no go" until JA returned to the band. JA made this song work...as well as the rest of the album...without him there is no 90125!!!!!
i have been touring for 25 years and yes is one of the bands i would give anything to mix foh for come to think of it there are only about 4 or 5 but dam what i wouldnt give
Great video, I have to say though, although Rabin got the solo note perfect, Steve Howe's solo slot later in the song blew him into the weeds!!! Rock On Steve :)
This may be the only time I've seen Steve and Trevor onstage together where Steve's actually playing a PART on a Trevor song, and you can actually HEAR what he's doing, and appreciate it.
Trevor did a great job with Yes,congrats for him...great voice, good compositions as into the lens, but now jon is read to go back and they keep going with that sorry ass boat seller, fuck that
Wish Trevor had showed up to guest with Yes at The Greek this year for "Owner", just as he did, ripping up the guitar on "Owner" at The Greek in 2010, and of course here at Wembley in 2004...(and here singing lead vocals!) Hoping he does something like this again soon with Yes, or with AWR, and singing again! Alot of people appreciate his beautiful lead vocals and would love to hear him sing once more!
When I first saw this without the intro I was tricked into thinking that Trevor Rabin had replaced Jon Anderson as Yes's lead singer. I think it could've worked, but that's my opinion.
@jo366 I will always wish that in 05 instead of yes going on hiatious they did an album and tour with this lineup.. oh well but at least we got Fly From Here a brilliant album
It is the opening track of their 1983 album 90125. Written primarily by Trevor Rabin, the song reached number one on the United States Billboard Hot 100 to date Yes's biggest chart success. What an outstanding performance both visual and audibly originally written as a ballad, not as the rock song that became famous. Trevor Rabin had already recorded an upbeat demo version of this song before Jon Anderson and Trevor Horn joined the 90125 project a demo version is found on Rabin's album 90124.
2:44 to 3:10 what a breathtaking shot of Trevor, Chris, Steve & Geoff just owning that stage! One of my very favorite live versions of "Cinema". Trevor (Rabin's) beautiful orchestral arrangements just shine through here with lush fanfares & flourishes accompanied by the orchestra. Incredible camera close-ups of Trevor's guitar voicings! The respect & admiration the band has for Trevor Horn so shines through here in the sparkling exuberance of their remarkable performance.
I've always loved at 11:22 when Trevor, Steve, & Chris, bow in unison and show such mutual respect & creative comaraderie collaborating, for & with one another. A beautiful and unforgettable moment & memory in music honoring Trevor Horn at this prince's Trust Concert at London's legendary Wembley.
I've always adored the way Trevor Horn intruduces the band, and especially when he introduces Chris, Steve, & of course Trevor at 1:44. The stage, light show, all add to this performance, which just raised the bar & is a pinnacle for such showmanship & live performance. Trevor & the the entire band are more than sterling & phenomenal on the instrumental "Cinema" & "Make It Easy", & then the classic "Owner Of A Lonely Heart".
@arweiss100 This is probably my favourite live Yes DVD. Trevor's vocals and guitar playing are absolutely phenomenal. The Wembley arena is amazing and was the perfect place to hold this event. As an aspiring lighting techie/designer, this sets a good example! My dream is to light a rock show! :D
What a superb landmark performance, one of the very best ever from Trevor Rabin, and all of Yes, assisted wonderfully by the marvelous Geoff Downes! ( I adore Geoff, what a talent!). This was so wonderful having Trevor Rabin guesting & fronting with his Yes mates & singing lead just supremely on the song that he composed. The entire arrangement, production, orchestra, & beack up vocalists are all so stunning and do Trevor Horn proud honoring him in this tribute concert.
SE IMPONE LA CALIDAD Y EL SONIDO, PERO ME GUSTARIA QUE TREVOR HORN HUBIERA CANTADO.

I always thought Howe hated "Owner". He must have finally warmed to it.
