  • Anyone in or around the Buffalo area the Stone City Band will be at Buffalo's Funkfest Aug 23, 2008 along with Slave at the LaSalle Park in Buffalo NY. It's been years since you guys have seen Rick's Stone City Band. Let me tell you I have heard these guys play not long ago and you won't be dissapointed The Stone City Band can still bring the funk just as hard today as they did back in the day...

  • I don't even really know what she was singin' at the end, I'm gonna go with that Floetry song, I can't think of it right now. But she killed it. Such conviction!!! That is what I call a vanilla child gone wild.

  • And you are curious about that because????

    Chang2be?

  • Do anyone knows if Teena and Rick ever dated or hung out?

  • Yes they did.

  • yeah she loved rick a whole lot and it was said that she was sick when they sang fire and desire and he made her come to the studio anyway to sing....

  • Iz it Wet Yet? Productions... WOW! LOL.

  • Does anybody know if any Teena/Rick Live DVD's actually exist????

  • Rick James has a DVD from back in 1982. He's supposed to have another DVD from the Long Beach show back in 81 and she's in that one.

  • the end gave me chills!

  • cocaine is a hell of a drug

  • Teena Marie and Stephanie Mills still sound the same after over 30 years.

  • I hope this DVD gets released one day !!!

  • What a serious classic!

  • SANG WHITE GIRL! I love TEENA

  • tina is cool

  • ...so is Teena !!!

  • i love you, too, cat daddy but don't you let that go to your head.

  • Give it you to the Man of Funk... R.I.P. Mr Slick Rick James. And much props and love to Tee for keeping his Vibe flowing amongst the Ol and Nu Skoolaz.

  • she is so bad

  • Teena is my GURL...she's 50 years old and STILL got a VOICE...check her latest cd Sapphire...That joint is tight!

  • we met Rick James at the old Playboy club in Buffalo in 1980, he joked and talked to us like we were old friends, and he was at the top of his game back then, great guy, musically years ahead of his time

  • Thanx utube for allowing me to post this text. Thanx to Liccwidd for uploading the video. Thanx to Stoney for introducing me to music. When you've lost all the albums you had of your idol then someone like liccwidd puts her up and close to hear And See her, you have a lot to be thankful for.

  • I was in a bar in Philly around 1992, and I knew Teena was performing next door. I went to the bathroom, and she was walking towards me (with security). Damn... She was fine, I must admit...

  • Rick was already on top when Prince got hot, that's why there was such a rivalry (which all boiled over when a young Prince opened 4 Rick years ago...) Rick & Prince were more alike than they liked 2 admit (aside from Prince's dancing); 2 blessed artists that r 2 damn funky (sorry, Michael had the funk when he was with the J-5, but not like Rick & Prince).

  • Teena Marie is the girl man, she can really sing, Rick James is awsome as well. RIP

  • I am a devoted Prince "friend" BUT I gotta give it up to Rick James. He was also responsible for fighting to get more African American artists more airplay on MTV in it's early years. He was an excellent producer, singer, and writer. I don't think there is any comparison between him and Prince or Michael Jackson. Rick was Rick, Prince is Prince, Michael is Michael. Wasn't he older than them as well? Anyhoo. Love the video. Teena is my girl. I love all her live shows. Peace and Love everyone.

  • I Love both Teena & Rick. XXX

  • Rick's voice is stronger, but his talent was not as strong Prince or Michael's. Teena is all over the place with the notes, but when it comes to the performance it's not about the notes; it is about how she makes you feel. And, when I hear her sing, I just "FEEL" her every moment. She lives in every moment as if every note means something to her. That is why I like creating dances to her music. Today's r&b singers just don't"live" in their music like her,

  • I agree candice. Rick was the best singer hands down. Micheal had the dance moves. Prince was the all around musician, he had the all around talent.

  • Rick has a stronger voice than Prince and Michael, but talent... that's hard to measure, but I would tend toward Prince, then Michael, then Rick. Still..immense from all three.

  • Rick is the man, Rick was the one that gave Prince his first gig.Don't knck Teena Marie. You try maintaining your voice for 30 years and see how you sound. Teena is still bad to tha bones.

  • Rick James voice was definitley stronger then that of Prince and Michael Jackson So i strongly agree with you.

  • i was gonna debate swsimpson but the above comment was sooooo stupid i guess it'd be a waste.

  • I loved Rick James - so talented. I'm sorry, but I never liked Teena, and this video goes beyond its duty in validating why -- ooohhhh/OUCH, my ears! . . . sorry, I know you loved them both. I remember arguing with someone that Rick James was more talented than Prince and Michael Jackson. I wish he could have proved me right, because he probably was. Thank you again- and please don't be mad at me.

  • rick died during this tour...rip Rick ..fire it up for God...

  • Go Teena.

  • HOT HOT HOT !!! We need a live video tour of this amazong DUO !! I saw them May/04 in DC. Best concert ever !

  • lets start a writing campaign.
