  • No need the county anymore

  • DAMN THAT'S FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!

  • damn.. now they have to build a bridge to cross that beach

  • Is it llegal? :D Propss!

  • Wonder if they got in trouble for draining the local lake lol or was it a blocked off river XD

  • Teško ruganje :D

  • ALRIGHT GUYS, AT FIRST WHEN I SAW THIS VIDEO I WAS LIKE, wow, BUT NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, IT WAS dumb TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT BECAUSE THAT LAKE WAS HOME TO SO MANY LIVING FISHES IR ANYTHING !!! MORE OVER, THEY CAN NO MORE FISH ON A LAKE BECAUSE SOME DUB ASSES EMPTYED THE WHOLE FUCKING LAKE ...JUST TO FUCKING SURF. !! X (

  • @santubaba I FUCKING LOVE CAPS LOCK!!!!!!!

  • @santubaba is a river not a lake and they just did one river mouth

  • @TheFenixLeyenda really ? looked more like a lake to me. i wonder how that place looked after all that water gone by...one thing is for sure, no more father & son fishing together moment.

  • @santubaba yeah is a river i had been there, the natural river mouth is near that place, is one of the longest rivers on hawai so they just make another river mouth. That place look diferent now since the river slowly devour the beach untill some point

  • @TheFenixLeyenda well in that case, i would call this video awesome. hehaha....

  • @santubaba your dumb... i live next to that river.. its just as full.. the only reason they were able to make that wave is because the river was flooding.. you a dumb haole who just because you watched a video from Hawaii you think you know shit about my home

  • @smile4myScopE7 fuck you dick head! i just wrote what i felt like. now how the fuck am i suppose to know what hawaii looks like or emptying a fucking lake is a norm there! anyway, good for ya you live in hawaii. i heard that there are lots of pretty girls out there... >.< u fucking lucky son of a bitch!! u lucky i am not over there!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @santubaba brah u must be really dumb... you must not know that Hawaiians con3 boiz are bangahs..... and your also dumb for saying lake.. it says RIVER in the title.. and the wahines are the best in the world.. but Hawaii isnt all good... we get stupid haoles coming down here and messing with our aina.. but we stay strong cuz our MANA protects us

  • @smile4myScopE7 ALRIGHT ALRIGHT :@ U WIN. >.< I WAS JUST CONCERNED ABOUT THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO LIVE THEIR LIVES DEPENDING ON THAT LAKE(FISHING,HUNTING ETC ETC), SINCE ITS A RIVER I HAVE NO PROBLEM NOW!

MAY YOUR MANA PROTECT YOUR FOREVER.

  • @smile4myScopE7 Lol mana? Stupid Hawaiian nerds. Go play Magic: The Gathering.

  • @BroTaiJr Mana means power in hawaiian idiot.

  • the water is all from the waimea river and it flowed into the ocean. or so i think

  • @surfboardseverywhere Brazilian Portugues...

  • did they seriously just empty a lake to go surfing???

    NEAT.

  • I love how they destroyed that beach, is that fresh water going into sea water aswell?

  • @sionysions yeah thats right,

  • @sionysions I doubt its all that fresh, its right beside the sea. Also, they didn't destroy the beach, they unblocked a river mouth.

  • @sionysions the water from the river flows into the ocean every year so its going to happen no matter what

  • WOW AMAZING!!!!!! <3

  • @MrCrowley45 dumb fckin haole, no one ever surfs or sponges on man made reefs. usually there arent any waves soo before yu bring yur little haole brains to our hawaiian culture, yu better check your self, das how all da white boys get lickens in hawaii

  • @surfboardseverywhere that's "da freak language" spoken in brazil... btw, where i live ¬¬

  • why does hawaii get all the good things

  • @thesoccerlegion1 because it is the best place in whole universe?

  • to be honest stfu and enjoy the video

  • yups everyone shaadap! this is a sick ass vid, no place like hawaii bah, no make problems here. much aloha shoooootz enjoi da vid !

  • Qual e o nome desse reggae ??

  • Morro Suchi kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Muitooo LooL Manuh Fique Viajando Akeee kkk

  • if that's fresh water that wasn't going anywhere, then you probably just screwed a hole bunch of ecosystems up. Creative, but could be bad. and shut up with the eco-friendly shit, @shawnpln there are such things as wave pools, you sound like an hippie.

  • Very creative! Right on

  • thats cool and all but i feel like they just made a massive hole in the beach lol

  • Theres no such thing as eco-friendly. Get over it. Everything we get is from earth and there is no other way to get stuff because guess what? We are stuck in this planet

  • @Chakalitohswagg *on* :P

  • How'd you make it? besides digging a trench.

  • Errm, so, where did all the water come from? Oh, so you connected a river to the ocean? So did you use an "eco friendly" sport to drain loads of fresh water from one source into the ocean? Well it's still awesome anyway.

  • 4:40 i just turned off the volume

  • onde fica esse lugar ?

  • Erosion<3

  • I watched it 3 times.. and i dont understand where all that water comes from ?? but thumps up, looks great guys ;)

  • @MrDreEntertainment The water from the beach reaches past the shore and down to a pool-like area somewhere along that shore. From that pool of water, their "river" channels the "pool water" back into the beach's shore.

  • @MrDreEntertainment from a lake that the Rain makes, have to wait till it rain to do this

  • @MrDreEntertainment Its from the river, there is a river connecting to the ocean and shit ....... it think

  • @MrDreEntertainment the massively obvious giant lake you see at 0:27

  • @MrDreEntertainment it clearly comes from the massive lake, they link it to the ocean by digging a trench....

  • @MrDreEntertainment Theres a big waterfall way back in the valley. The water from there makes its way through a little river and in to the ocean

  • what song is this????!!!!!

  • @ildraughn775

The Black Seeds - Coming Back Home

  • ridiculously awesome, could spend the rest of my life boogieboarding on that

  • the worst part is when you relax, listen to beautiful music, watch awesome video and some freakin guy starts screaming at the end of the video;D

  • i wish i lived in hawaii and knew how to surf. that looks awesome!

  • Totally awesome.... but really irresponsible.

  • I Loved how you all worked as a team to make the "wave pool" it was natural and the earth will reclaim its land, so don't listen to the greensquid's out there, they are taking down tree's and putting up water park's, I agree with lakisofolimpia FRICKING GENIUS MAN!!!! :)

  • Genious

  • This is what the natives were doing before Captain Cook showed up with Catholic missionaries and ruined it all. Hawaii should be left alone to its inhabitants and only those invited by them to do eco-friendly business and tourism should be invited. It should be left alone as a tropical paradise.

  • is this song by the black seeds?

  • This is so badass

  • fuck the earth. use it as much as we can. it won't talk back to you and say, "that hurt." in a la da future, NASA or someone else will fly us to another planet that we can use for another billion years. *throws a cup out the window while driving*

  • Song name/band please??

  • Comment removed

  • @themidnightpiper The Black Seeds - Coming Back Home

  • song ?

  • Oh breh so can't wait for be back in da 808

  • if you didn't know, there are underground rivers. Not all you see is what it really is

  • Holy crap this is awesome...

  • it's cool when it's a small one but not when it can be without any control

  • lol,stupid money assholes

  • damn this made me home sick!

  • nice vid n cool how they made it them selfs

    now do it again!

  • incredible... how long did it take to dig it?

  • how on earth do they do this shit .

  • once all the water is drained it goes back to normal as just a regular sand bar you would find on any other beach. plus its amazing how they can create a manmade flowrider.

  • No.

    Great Video!!

  • thumbs up to the skimmer

  • This is so awesome, I have to try this!

  • Cut that kid screaming at the end out. Too loud mate! Love watching all the fun though. :-) good on you, should be more of it.

  • Meanwhile...in local news....a nearby town suffers from a depleted drinking water supply. More @ 5 pm.

  • @yefferys50 Meanwhile, in local news, the waimea river has been unblocked again preventing flooding in the area.

  • Whats the name of that song!?!?

  • @Epeprm

The Black Seeds - Coming Back Home

    []´s

  • do they still do this?

  • @YanlingSentinel Why not

  • nice!

  • HOW!?

  • People get a clue. No other sport on the earth is more Eco-friendly than surfing. Instead of playing with each other your playing with mother earth. Skiing? Sure, let's cover the ground with man made snow wherever we want it. Surfing is the only way to play with nature how she wants to play. Eff you "ecohaters". Grab a wave and feeeeeeeeel the flow.

  • @shawnpln Only to be fair to skiing and snowboarding; skiing on man made snow on a hill is equivalent to building a man made reef for surf. When you're making an argument, making equal comparisons. Obviously, the best places for skiing and snow boarding don't need man made snow, just like most surfers don't need man made reefs. Apart from that, I don't see why cricket, rugby or football would be less eco-friendly, both surfing and these sports require manufactured goods

  • @shawnpln Actually, I think Mountain Biking is more eco-friendly than surfing. Cos with surfing you got people going around on Jet-Skii's and shit.

  • @MythOfEchelon false.

  • Comment removed

  • @shawnpln i agree, but this comes very close to your comment: typ it in youtube:

Wingsuit Basejumping - The Need 4 Speed: The Art of Flight

Lets feel a little bit free

  • @shawnpln

Notice how 'surfing machine' is in the suggestion list.

  • @shawnpln what about the times when people build fake reefs, or peers in order to get a better wave or new wave, or when companies go out and make surf wave machines in large scale pools, I'm pretty sure that the chemicals used in those pools and the machines used to make those waves are not Eco-friendly, would be the equivalent of your man made snow example.

  • @LCRCBOY shut the hell up

  • @sikttlesnz um..... no lol I wont

  • @shawnpln you forgot about windsurfing.. sailing.. sup.. kayak.. basically what you mean is whater sports.. not just surfing : P

  • @babybuttjingles

    Waimea River (Hawaii)

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Waimea River is a river on the island of Kauai in the U.S. state of Hawaii. At 12.1 miles (19.5 km) in length,[1] it is one of the longest rivers in the Hawaiian Islands.

and someone else said maui. clown.

  • what island is this? maui? i hope so! freakin' fantastic!!!! and to hell with the haters, i'm lmao at the stupid 'eco-snobs' who don't know jack shit. get a grip, you have NO idea what you are talking about! surfers have more eco wisdom in their little toes. when was the last time you saved a pod of whales from beaching to death due to underwater sonar testing, or sat with a monk seal?

  • Instead of being always bitching on youtube, they did something with their lives !

  • Song = The Back Seeds - Coming Back Home

  • This video always puts me in a good mood.

  • The Black Seeds 'Coming Back Home'

  • @elhalconloco where do you think that water was gonna end? -.-

  • @elhalconloco ? its rain... not sewage...

  • song?

  • @empinchen The back seeds - coming back home

  • song?

  • rofl meh who gives a shit plenty of beaches and rivers lol that looks sick and would be fun

  • first i unliked, then i read up and i liked.

  • And now all that fresh water is salt water, just great.

  • @cawsun That is great, unless you'd prefer all that freshwater flooding someones house. It has to go into the sea sometime.

  • Isn't this some kind of environmental disaster??

  • @pacorod In a word, no. Not unless you consider a river flowing back into the sea after having been blocked by a storm a disaster.

  • @mhhabs: I doubt any such organisms persist in the area as that buildup of sand and the resulting outflow happens with or without human intervention.

At any rate, if they hadn't dug that canal and the tiny amount of sand separating the river from the sea hadn't breached again of its own accord, the local authorities would have had to do so anyway to avoid flooding. I can't find it right now but theres a video of them doing just that.

  • dumbass survers...

  • what assholes destroy the beach cuz you wanted to surf

  • dear eco idiots, this doesn't hurt the river. The area that they dig out is where the river ends and overflows naturally after any big rain. Its dug out many times a year. Keep your uneducated opinion to yourselves and enjoy the clip.

  • @Project0061 What about beach erosion?

  • @fondoftheduh When I lived there about 25 years ago there were TV shows showing beach erosion and the difference in the beach over time.

  • this would be illegal in some countries..........

  • What is this sorcery?

  • this might seem cool but isnt this bad for the river? o_O

  • lol they fucked up the whole beach

  • I wonder how actually bad this REALLY is, anybody educated know an answer to that ? Pretty cool though, must've taken a shitload of time tho.

  • TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE REACTING NEGATIVELY TO THIS

    here you go

    /watch?v=RFZrzg62Zj0

  • If it was this easy to divert the river it would have happened next time there was heavy rain anyway. Its nothing like cutting down a forest, sand isn't a living organism.

If a beaver or some other animal did this I'd bet that all the eco-idiots would be posting about how natural and beautiful it is. I really don't think this is going to affect the beach in any serious way.

  • @theicychameleon actually the large amount of fresh water input into the sand and the sea would disrupt the salinity balance. the ecosystem would be quickly changed and any organisms which rely on a constant salinity ratio would be disturbed unless they are able to adapt to a changing salinity which they may not be able to do due to the speed that the water flooded this area. Sand is not a living organism but i can garentue that there are living organism inside the sand would will be affected.

  • @theicychameleon although it is still pretty cool i have to admit.

  • Pretty idiotic thing to do just so you can surf.

  • Sweat, now kick these useless surfer dudes out and build a dam, and produce some energy.

  • Bioterrorism.

  • doing this shit fuck up the beach

  • Wouldn't this create a rip in the beach currents and make it extremely dangerous?

  • Awesome, fuck the haters

  • Did Anyone bring a Shovel?....... Shit.

  • kool kiwi sing!

  • What assholes. I doubt that canal will never close again. it just gets bigger and bigger until that river on top has got no more water

  • @fyaan0 That's not how rivers work. This is not a lake...

  • You know if any thing this will Help out the ecosystem, a river that close to the beach will let out in some controlled way a little ways down stream, So no real harm done there. The sand that was taken away, will be replaced by the tides in a few weeks. the Fish that live there, Mainly survive in Brackish water so they can handle Salt. Hell Park Rangers in North Carolina Do that to Large Lagoons at the Outer banks every Hurricane. It hurts NOTHING!!!! Well... Maybe Idiots.

  • this is horrible for the ecosystem.it looks rad though.

  • To those wondering the impact on the surrounding environment from doing this. There is none. This is pretty much a yearly occurrence, due to heavy rain fall. All they did was speed up the process.

  • @Wafflerue beach erosion?

  • @fondoftheduh What beack erosion? Thats where the river usually flows into the sea until it gets blocked up by storms. All that sand will be back up on the beach next time the weather gets up.

  • Wow so they basically created a river.

  • guy yelling at the end is just unnecessary!

  • that shits intense!!! i'm surprised cops didn't show up and get all pissy lol

  • Comment removed

  • now the lake will dry out...

  • @topilopi123 no it wont

  • Real Life From Dust!

  • this is an amazing and beautiful idea but that is alot of fucking water!

  • there used to be old cars and stuff under the water, left from the tidal wave that hit it in the 60s used to scare me (I was 7-8)John a pure Hawaiian let us live in one of his little houses there for fixing the roof, and my sister and I supported the family with all the fish they gave us for helping with the hukilow what we didnt eat, we gave to the store in exchange for credit. What a life! it was about 50 feet or so across that sand bar.

  • what about the freshwater fish?

  • @trumpetswim10 they get to go down the fun water slide :D

  • thats awesome but questions. 1 how long did that take damn 2 was the river like flooded and you like made a path for the extra water to drain? or is the river literally that close to the ocean?

  • @laxfan727 The river is usually pretty low so it probably didn't take too long.
