I want to thank you for being so brave and posting this very candid video of your manic state. I have Bi-polar Disorder- rapid cycling. This video is very familiar to me. When I'm manic I'm very similar to what you are showing us. I am actually 32. I was just diagnosed 7 months ago. I have a daughter who sees me like this quite often. I am just so happy there's someone else out there who has similar experiences to me. Thanks again! : )
@etherrealmist76 I don't think it's anything supernatural. She's smoking and at 5:11 you can hear her tapping her cigarette on the ash tray and smoke comes up on the right side of the screen and it looks similar to what you saw at 8:40.
OHHHH girllll i hear yaa... in my casee when im manic i get mad worn up. I tent to study too much and not only that i wanna be envolve in everything. so i do, and that is why i usually sleep a lot when im manic. When im depressed i usually try to control what i think if i dont idk what i wouldve done. But you not alone in this you have the support of other people.: )
omg i have a friend with bipolar I and i always thought he talked like this just to get attention (he talks a bit louder and annoying though). is this how a normal manic episode is or is it calmed down due to drugs? my friend is on ridiculously high doses of depakote, lithium and seroquel.
this is so true. i was just recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder and although i haven't experienced true mania, i can definitely relate to some of this having experienced a hypomanic episode
I genuinely feel sorry for this chick. I really hope she gets better. And maybe you shouldn't smoke AND drink coffee at the same time. Because smoking makes ur body weak and ten drinking coffee makes your mind work over time and you'll find ur self not going to sleep even though your tired.
i think i may be bi polar ive always thought of myself as weird or talking about different things but i had to laugh at this video because this is how i speak all the time! crazy people are awesome :D
Will detoxing your body help too detox the brain? I have a dear friend who struggles with this. She knows that she can call me anytime to just talk it all out. I just listen until she feels better. Sometimes it takes an hour and sometimes it takes 5.
lemme just say this... you are fricken AWESOME! XD , you remind me SOO much of my big sis. lol, anyway im so sorry that you have to suffer this disorder, wishing you the best of luck with everything : )
Doesn't sound like mania to me. Sounds like rushing thoughts and depression. The energy is right. But with manic energy, I can do a lot of things. Some of them make sense. Sometimes I get in a dream world where what I am doing things that I think are wonderful but a few weeks later I realize they weren't as wonderful as I thought.
@HilarityBribo It certainly can. Like other manic symptoms, such as spending money you don't have, it varies. I have always been able to sleep. Sure I could stay up all night when I am manic but I choose not to. Not everyone can do that, but if you can maintain regular sleep patterns when you are manic it is a big help. Staying up all night, not eating... those things feed your mania.
Good honest video. you have bigger balls then anyone else I know, to come out to the open about the real thing not just what we read about, this gives us all a true understanding. Thank You
This was an excellent video!!! 5:45 to 06:06 such a great description girl! Well done. We can smoke in the smoke room in our hospitals in Scotland! We share the ward with drug addicts and alcoholics to. I think that the docs here say that mental health seriously deteriorates when you stop smoking and it's a locked ward so you are going to end up with 30 to 40 smokers going nuts. I mean people with no mental health problems go nuts when they give up so!!!
So many people struggle with Bipolar Disease, and not enough people really understand it. This video is so real and honest, and I think it's great that you are sharing your struggle. It could help a lot of people who may be in the same place.
@livingwithbipolar My mother and sister have it. I grew up witnessing this disease and, while my mom is completely functional and very healthy now, it was hard as a kid. She's so strong to have really put this disease in its place and is so responsible about taking care of herself. My sister is still struggling with it and has a long road ahead of her.
@Fireflycaptain I see, that must have been quite hard. the only people in my family with it are my grandma and me, it is definatly hard, im just lucky i dont have it as bad as some people
