yeah, that works.[I'm on Soul Silver] my save corrupted...itself when I saved after the fight with sudowoodo. My whole world crashed with that save...! Then I converted to desmume and I don't know how, but desmume read the converted save and I resumed where I saved. now I'm in olivine and I've beaten jasmune. But I can't trade with desmume.I heard you can trade with no$gba, but no$gba can't read ANY of my previous .SAV files (although it CAN generate new saves and read them). Any help with that?

@streetballllller I used desmume for a while too. Mine was the latest version but for mac and I did not even need the code on desmume. I downloaded my rom from dgemu.com and it worked fine. But if all else fails and you still really want to play Pokemon heartgold/soulsilver, try downloading no$gba 2.6a and put the code

i really laugh so hard when i see comments of people that are so happy with the black screen being fixed. quick question though: has any of you actually played the game without freezing and crashing every 5 minutes? no better yet, have you been able to save without getting the message: " the rom has crashed" ? If any of you managed to play the game without any of these problems please feel free to share because i have been trying for ages to manage and play this fuq'n game !!!!!!!

@kobeissiR32 how about you reset the config to default? except the black screen and some minor graphical lags during battles it works perfectly fine for me. update to the latest version of no$gba. the saving works with me. and if you can't save you can still try the save states. i always save state before saving in-game just to be sure, had to many issues with other games.

@DanJonesKing actually i tried no$zoom something with the black screen codes and it worked. i still cant save states but i can save the game from inside. it still crashes every half hour or so but at least i can save now. im close to finishing the game now

maximum gameplay until soul silver freezes is 3 minutes. so play for 3 minutes only, then save and turn off the game. then turn it back on, then go to the utility and re-check the code so no blackscreen and play for 3 minutes again, then repeat same process.

@xCursedAngel nitroXferno25410 On emulation setup under 3D renderer, drop down the menu and try whatever else appears besides nocash. Its different for everyones computer. Mine runs openGL and it fixed the lines. Just Options>Emulation Setup>3D Renderer

And really, the sprite glitch is nothing to worry about. Just make sure to save every time before you enter a place where you can't save, like the safari zone, etc. And this glitch occurs like once in 1-2 hours of playing, sometimes more or less frequently, since some locations are more prone to triggering it, other than that it seems to be totally random, but still significantly rare. Since saving the game doesn't open a fullscreen menu, it works, and after resetting it's fixed (if not, redo).

Use DeSMuME, it's wayyyyy more stabile than No$, especially with DS games.

In the case of these games, you won't get a black screen, and it totally eliminates all freezes, except one case: returning to normal view from anything that blackened your screen (entering/exiting buildings, exiting fullscreen menus) occasionally glitches all character sprites, making them weird/discoloured or glitch boxes. If you trigger any new screen-blackening, game'll freeze, so don't. Save game & reset to fix.
