Great Video! Son is at Camp Pendleton currently doing FMTB then going to Okinawa for three years. Go Navy!!! =) Thank you ALL for your service!! God bless and stay safe.
not as hard as one may think, you just gotta know your job and keep your cool when things get rough its a very good rating to be in, the training a experience you get is incredible
im trying to decide between Corpsman or Marine. two closely related subjects. the Corpsman's job is to basically stop the bleeding and patch up the Marine until medicvac arrives right?
Corpsman are Navy sailors and the field corpsman (like myself) are the ones who go out with the marines to patch them up if need be, so yes just depends on what you want because the marines dont have medics thats why they need medics and corpsman from the navy and army
@Fuzionrider If someone is very fit and intelligent in the science field, is there a good chance they can become FMF Corpsman? FMF is the only thing I am interested in if I choose Corpsman. Or is that a wrong reason to choose that job as I may be stuck at a desk?
yeah females do, the females had their own platoon there were about 50 girls in the platoon out of about 200 sailors, but i do know they try to send more males than females to fmf but you can always drop a request chit to go :)
Yes females do go to FMTB. In Camp Lejeune though and we were integrated in with males. After all both genders deploy together. It only makes sense to train together. I went through in jan 2005.
do females do the field training also..i am leaving for the navy nov 18th as a HM so i was wondering bc i didnt see any women..how is this set up..i may have seen one..lol and i am obviously female
yes sometimes they do theyre just not always first most of the time they just hang aroung the base but thats not always the case it just depends on the situation
Corpsman Up! The Navy Gave me the skills and the money to become an RN. Now I am a successful PACU RN in civilian land. Semper Fi.Charlie Co."First on Line"2nd Med BN, 2nd FSSG!!
I went field med,8404 corpsman, and i,m planning on going aerospace technician corpsman 8406 go ahead and do field med before big navy forces you to do it later. glad i got it over with early and you'll be to trust me
ei thanks for posting this. its me T. to all my classmates in this class wherever you are, take care and god bless

For a FemLE TO GO FMF at the moment, it is very hard there are RARELY any Billets open for females. TO get ur FMTB Training all you need to do is.
Keep up your grades for Orders in Your Corpsman School, and When you come around test 6 you will CHOOSE your orders.

So in order to become an FMF (as a female) what steps should one take?
RedSuperBlasto 2 years ago
step 1. join the navy
step 2. apply to be a hospital corpsman after boot camp
step 3. after hospital corpsman schooling apply for Field Medical Training
