I love this song so much, every time I listen It makes me cry, :) I remember always listen to this some with my dad when I was little. My dad drove trucks to. he just died this year. Thanks to whoever added this song!
wow this song show bring back memories this was me and my brother favorite song we use to listen to it everyday but i guess i have to listen to it alone now that my brother is gone but just like him this song will always have a special place in my heart...thank for adding
gospellin.....thx for the info....but, i have a slight problem with the year...if the year is 1985, then it must be their greatest hits, because teddy bear came out in the early to mid 70's...i'm positive of this....i first heard this when i was a young teenager...and if i had to guess, the year would be between 1972-75....in 1985, i was 26 years old...could you please get back to me and let me know when "teddy bear" first came out..thx so much..
omg....i've been searcing for this song..first time i heard it, was WHATam, in philadelphia on the "mary mason show"...powerful and loving memories...but i'd like to know....when this song came out????
@smush48 The album came out in 1985. I'm an announcer here in Philly and worked with Louise Williams on WDAS. I'm told Mary has dementia and is no longer on the air and WHAT was sold a few years ago and is now playing old standards from the 40's 50's and 60's aka Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. WDAS has gone Spanish and Louise is now on another station celebrating 50 years in broadcasting.
THE MEMORIES OF GROWING UP IN THE COUNTRY COMES BACK CLEAR AS DAY WHILE LISTENING TO THIS SONG... THE HAY RIDES WITH GRANDPA AND THE RIDES IN GRANDMA'S YELLOW CAR HEADING INTO TOWN
i didn't know this was the jackson southernairs,i've always liked this song. great song. it seemed that all of the southern black gospel groups had someone in the group that was good with songs like this that talked it through. my own father was in a gospel group and they had someone who would talk a good story durning the concert. great stuff. thanks for posting it.
omg love this song but i wonder if my grandad even realizes that his pic is on youtube(farthest to the right..Luther Jennings) and now my mom tells me that her and my aunts helped do the background on this song when they were younger...great song!!!
This was a on a tape that my x-husband made for me when we were courting, and i fell in love with this song then and i still love it, although our relationship is at a stand still this song will play a huge part in my life forever, i am that little person (Teddy Bear) thank you Jackson Southenairs
I just love this song. Everytime I hear it I think about my grandfather who was a trucker. How when he use to come back from a long haul, he would bring me a teddy bear from a truckstop that he had stopped at on his long haul. I use to ask him why he did it. He never gave me an answer till the day he died, and I got a letter from him with this song. Thanks for posting it. Today would be 10 years since he passed and it has helped me listening to this and looking at all the teddy bears in my room
@gospellin How they ever flow my soul. Memories id all I have left. Most of my family is gone now. My Grandfather and is brothers were quartet singers. My Father was to, and sang in the male choir, a big man with a high tenor voice. They formed a love for this type of music in me. I to sing, well since I was 9 years old. I will see and sing with them again, but until then Precious Memories.
Thanks for posting. I 've been looking for this song. I remember listening to this as a child. it brings back so many childhood memories. Thanks again!
In 1979, the Jackson Southernaires received a Grammy nomination for Teddy Bear. :-) That was the year of the initial release.
