I saved a baby Cottontail and am now keeping it as a pet, it was a lump on its cheek and it might be abscess. It is illegal to own a cottontail where I live and I want to bring it to a vet, what will a vet do, and what can I do to help it, the rabbit is about 6 months old.

Bear with this long comment; My last roommate had an aggressive pit mix. He raised it gently, and still, it attacked smaller animals. However, other pits I've met are the most loving, docile pets one could ever hope for. Sometimes temperament is inborn, and no one should ever judge a dog based on it's breed. This video is proof.

pit balls are only banned on the dangerous dogs act because they are used in fights.. because they have high agression to other dogs.. nothing else. all dogs on that act are banned because they show higher aggression to other dogs, hence the reason they're used for fights.. to humans they're about as aggressive as a labrador. same for bunnies :D

I work in a animal shelter that gets a high number of pits due to a rampant overpopulation problem. As I work mostly with pits every single day, I can honestly say thery are some of the most loving and wonderful of breeds. If you are on here spouting a bunch of useless negitivity about the breed, perhaps you should go volunteer at your local animal shelter to see first hand what sort of nonsense you're spreading around.

my cousin used to do pit bull rescue when I was little. He had an enclosure made for 1 that had been terribly abused and only would respond to him no one else.It needed to be kept away from children and other dogs. One day he walked in to the area he saw the dog had something nuzzled with him.Fearing the worst(a neighbors cat etc.) He was shocked to see the dog had a baby bunny curled up with him...no idea how it got in there but they were inseparable for many years! Babies were safe w her she just died at 11 loved & missed dearly by all those who knew her. Have met other gentle ones too.
