  • @ohmainzte Yup that's my master plan to move up in rank. Why did you get fired? Good luck with moving up! Where are you stationed?

  • @ohmainzte Good looking, how's the first 2 weeks of bootcamp trying to remember everything, and what are the main stuff I gotta have down withing the first 2 weeks?

  • Ha haaa...I think I know where you are at. My parents stayed at a (maybe) hotel when I invited them over for my graduation+3 day liberty. How were you able to make a vlog when you didn't even do your battlestation yet? O_o

  • you have to hold your breathe for five minutes??

  • @skizzlebot your wearing a gas mask, and they have about 16 or so people take them off at once and recite your name and division number. Kinda forces you to breath it in, it sucks lol. It's not torture or anything, it's so you know how it feels so if it happens, you'll be less in shock, more likely to survive.

  • @Navy1ism ha i have the same problem i want rpoc but idk is it like volunteer or just chosen

  • @fruitlandgrizzly its sort of both. Be a leader, help out your shipmates and don't get caught not following instructions or doing anything dumb.

  • gay ass sailors

  • Kids man...lol .... I have a question about the leadership positions in bootcamp. How do they choose? I've been busting my buns doing extra studying and PT to have a good chance at snagging one. Anything you can suggest?

  • @Navy1ism I definitely recommend snagging one of those and doing your BEST to stay on it. I had one and got fired 2 weeks to the end. My 2 week replacement got the promotion from E-1 to E-2. I shrugged it off back then, but I'm an E-2 now, I was supposed to be E-4 for completing special program but I got dropped. Now I have to wait til I'm E-3 so I can strike for a rate!

  • @toknblkguy I got CTT leaving in july, idk if that's similar but hows the A-school and after you get out of bootcamp, what's life like..how soon can you pick u a phone etc...dang no hairline though, I figure that takes too much time for them huh lol where you from?

  • @altiwholcomb You'll get chances to make multiple phone calls in boot. When you graduate they let you out in town from 1-2 days depending on your orders. And then when you leave, they just drop yall off at the airport hours before your flight, I used the payphone for a long while. At A-School, there will be a NEX. The NEX is like Walmart, not like the 7-11 look alike in boot. You'll have the chance to choose a cell provider. (DONT BLOW YOUR MONEY)

  • @toknblkguy im a high school senior and in DEP and i set to go to boot camp this december. first of all great video, a lot of good advice but i was wondering is there anything else i need to know about PT? i play high school sports but ive heard from different people that its really difficult but others said it was really easy, so any response would be greatly appreciated.

  • @CAbel540 yea you'll be alright, its not that bad if you're in shape.. and if your recruiter will probably have you do a mock PRT.. its just a mile and a half run, push ups and sit ups

  • Congrats bro! I'm shipping on March 14th haha I'm ready, I'm ready! @Josuel... The nerve of you to throw out insults, when you don't even know the proper name of the test. It's the ASVAB...smh

  • @Navy1ism you welcome bro and thank you too... lol i donno why people love to hate like that..

  • Does the requirements for boot camp is the same for girls who want to go to the Navy?

  • mile and a half. ha ha

  • tip for the navy: just because there is a chow hall doesn't mean you can consume all the fucking food. nastys

  • the peanut butter shot hahahahaha!

  • thank you to all military .. now with that said navy army and air force basic is no where near as competitive as MARINE CORPS. BOOT CAMP SEMPER FI

  • yeaaa theyll teach yu to swim if you dont know how

  • Im a little concerned in taking the ASVAP.....

But if that retard passed and now he is in A School, IM IN!

    GPA of 3.4

  • @JosueIGE13579 dude its ASVAB, and your calling him a retard? lol

  • 1. Your not supposed to have your cover on inside buildings.

    2. why did you salute to the camera. it is not an officer.

  • I never understood why people got tired of the food.

even in college, high school, other work environments i've witnessed everyone getting "tired" of there food. people are never satisfied.

I guess I just like food

  • where can i find the information for the general orders chain of command and other stuff you said i might need?

  • Your uniform looks terrible ^_^

Might want to rewatch this video in about 12 years...

  • @ChandlermanOg Yeah, you can if you want. If you don want to or can't pay for it or something, let your recruiter know and they'll give you the test at MEPS. It might make your process take an extra day though, in case work or school is a consideration. I just got done with the whole enlistment process and I ship to RTC on June 26th. If you (or anyone else) have any more questions, you can message me and I'll try to answer what I can

  • @hazeleyezkill Yes They Will Teach You Twice Every Day Untill You Learn How Too

  • can any one answer this question. i want to join the navy but i dont know how to swim will they teach you?!.

  • Mommy and bro bro, thats fucking cute

  • grown man says mommy. wtf

  • @kingvic97 I think that is a Southern thing!

  • you are a fucking IDIOT get the fuck out of my navy boot

  • Hey I have a video of the OFFICIAL workout or "beating" your RDC will be giving you at Navy boot camp. Check it out, should help!

  • Soooo where should i go to get some good studing in , the chain of command , to pass the base-line psa , the general orders , and the sailors creed. Is it a book i should check out orrrrr posibly look online for it ? Thanks Bro .

  • @ChandlermanOg goog NAVY S.T.A.R.T. book or you can just type it in on google... actually ask a recruiter for a S.T.A.R.T. but i dont believe you get one until you enlist

  • @annapolisguy60628 Cool will do , i called them , I asked what do i have to do to get started . The dude told me i have to bring my transcript from school . No problem . I take the asvab before enlisting right ?

  • How deep is the water when we do our swimming assessment?

  • marine bootcamp.. we didnt get thanks giving off

  • @annapolisguy60628 I'm glad too hear that, we didn't either many years ago.

  • what was the thing ur saying about iron sights. i want to do good so if u could reply thanks

  • @sputnik11111 why was the uss constitution called "old ironsides".

  • @TravisW14k The cannon balls literally bounced off the sides of the ship.

  • I have a couple of questions about boot camp. I leave november 15th so someone please respond before then....Thanxxx

  • Now his tips are good, but one thing... TAKE OFF YOUR DAMN GARRISON CAP!

  • If you had money can you gold plate ya dogg chains my nigga?

  • I'M LEAVIN' THIS SATURDAY........ORAHH GO NAVY SMOOTH SAILIN'....

  • What ribbons do you receive on completion of boot?

  • Hey toknblkguy....I took your advice and remember the following:

11 general orders, Sailor's Creed, RTC Chain of Command, Ranks and Recognition, RTC Maxim, Alphabet, Navy Terminology, and Naval History. Would you recommend studying ships and aircraft?

  • What readings would you recommend to know the naval history?

  • I love how your screen name is toknblkguy...

  • I thought the Navy liked to shower with other dudes...

  • @Ericlikespi2 That's only in Bootcamp.

  • lame. they say the af bmt is easy?. navy looks like cake. the day off? ahhaha

  • Hmm, didn't weapons qual. Huh Break Blue Maybe?

  • you gotta get a shot in your butt?! whats that for?

  • does anyone know if tattoos limit you from doing things in the navy??

  • @toknblkguy an another one if u can answer what is the time for a mile and a half for a male

  • when did u make this video afta bootcamp or where u in boot still and how did u make this video if u were still in boot and how did u get a aroom with ur fam bam an ish

  • yoo whats good everybody i was post to leave for bootcamp next month but my recuriter is ass as hell didnt schduel me to retake my asvab for 2 months so now i gotta wait till febuary hmu nd add me on facebook tryna meet as much navy ppl as posbile nd i got questions to yeah deffently hit me nd @tonknblkguy keep makein dez vids

  • Do you have to know how to swim good? Or just swim, I know how to swim but dont know all the different strokes and stuff like that, and do you eventually get to keep all your uniforms and blue camo fatigues cuz I really want mine lol, enlisting summer 2012

  • Took the ASVAB, got an afqt of 93 and scored 60+ on every test, recruiter told me to do Nuclear Propulsion, but i'm more serious about the intelligence field. TS clearance, the schooling is great, and the private sector opportunities rival Nukes. (Without the insane dropout rates/being overworked.)

  • shut the fuck up.................

  • How Were You Able Too Make A Video During Basic, Did You Get Liberty For Thanksgiving?

  • You can get jump promoted to e-2 for taking a test in boot camp? Say what?

  • @gmsquared pass your dep pqs, the intitial pfa, and graduate on time, and yes, you can be e-2 by the end of boot. if you can get two nsw/nso or nf contract referrals you cen be an e-3 before you even leave. also if you have over a certain amount of college credit hours you can get advances (36+ for e-2, 48+ for e-3) there are lots of ways to get there, ask your recruiter for a START guide, it covers all of this

  • @Crypt1cmyst1c thanks man, that clears a lot up. I will definitely ask him

  • hey toknblkguy how long a day do you train..i heard it was 1 hour a day 6 days a week

  • @harddawg2486 AB?

  • this was actually helpful thanks! I scored a 70 on the ASVAB and am going to be OS. Hope to rank up fast though!

  • they'll take 35 sure...will you get a shitty job? YES...50+ qualifies you for the best jobs...and yes they teach you how to swim. and to the guy trippin on the asvab test, its like a 7th grade baseline test, if you dont get a 50+ consider the army because the navy doesnt need you

  • thanks bro i swear in next week & i'll pick my job & find out when i leave for bootcamp but i need like the little stuff to know before i go up there

  • Is that test you take to get advance multiple choice the test you take in your 1st week

  • If you have been in choir, band, or a drill team and tell them, you may be put in the 900 division. It's the division that performs at graduation. While everyone else is doing pt you are practicing and get 0 pt time. The only pt you do is the tests, which makes it harder.

  • @Sunnyd4112 the asvab score required for Army is 31.. Navy requires minimum of 51..before u take the test u fill out the form and mark which branch ud like..the kid right nxt to me b4 test was undecided if he wanted army or navy..but he chose Navy.. unfortunately he scored 50! thus he had to

go home and retake it at least 1month after.key: study

  • do they put braces on u if u have a gap?

  • u have to pay to go to the navy bootcamp?

  • @tytttryer no...they pay you

  • you pay to be in the navy bootcamp?

  • @toknblkguy - I am interested in joining the navy and i am just trying to get as much info before i commit myself to this you know. so how often do you get breaks? and can you have relationships with people in the navy, like date a shipmate? thats not important but like i said im just trying to know it all.. plz respond, thanks.

  • @NavySEALsfreak Well to start off, breaks in boot camp dont really happen, ever. A-school it gets better being that you can have liberty after classes and on the weekends. But you have to earn the liberty. Do not join if you are not going to be 100% commited. Nobody wants to deal with a shitbag. And as far as dating shipmates it is very frowned upon. Yes you can but do not do it with your shipmates on your ship.

  • @stratinthehat0414 yeah i get what you're saying. how long is the boot camp? an have you been through boot camp before?

  • @NavySEALsfreak Yes i graduated boot camp almost two years ago. Boot camp for me was a little longer than 8 weeks because when i got there we were put on hold for P-Days. To be honest the military isent for everyone. Especially now with all the budget cuts about to happen. The military is always the first place gov looks. Not to put you off on the navy or anything. I have loved my time so far. You just have to be commited every day. And it starts with the moment you enlist. Think it over.

  • @stratinthehat0414 okay, i know I've been really interested for about 3 years but like you said i am only going to join with 100% commitment, how difficult was boot camp for you? Because like a lot of people say there's no discipline and blah blah blah, but since you been through it you would know... thanks.

  • @NavySEALsfreak Boot camp for me after the first few days was easy. It really involves little to no thinking, you fold a lot of clothess, PT a fair amount, and do a lot of class learning. Its not supposed to be a breeze you are supposed to be broken down somewhat so the navy can form you into what they want you to be so you will work well in the military. Every person is different. It depends a lot on your RDC's or "drill instructor". You wont know until you join and go though.

  • @stratinthehat0414 oh i see. and thank you for replying because a lot of people don't or they'll comment dumb shit. is there anything i can study so i can score higher on the ASVAB?

  • @NavySEALsfreak go to a local library and look for asvab training books...the questions on the asvab change so you can't completely study for it, but you can study problems that relate to each section of the asvab...i just took mine like a week ago...& try to score pretty high, because my recruiter told me that they aren't really taking too many ppl because of how many ppl are starting to join now.

  • @SunnyD4112 foreal!!! what is considered a accepting score?

  • @NavySEALsfreak i think like 31 is passing, but my recruiter told me that if you score in the 50s and higher, you're pretty much guaranteed a spot up to MEPS (she said that most of the scores they see are in the 30s or 50s)...then you do all of the physical testing and all that mess.

If you smoke or anything make sure that you're ready to quit & your system is clean...if saves you a lot of worrying & if they find anything in your system at MEPS you won't get a second chance...

  • @NavySEALsfreak Oh yeah & if you know anything about Woodshop related shit or automobiles, or you used to, make sure you study up on that too...They never told me but those 2 things were their own sections in the ASVAB...it'll open up more job opportunities if you do well on them..

  • @NavySEALsfreak Study all the basic I.E math, english, science. Just search on google for ASVAB study material and it shoud bring up a bunch of stuff. Make sure if you do decide to do this while at MEPS if you make it in think long and hard about what rate(job) you want and do some studying on it. If you havent allready contact a recruiter and they will help you with whatever other questions that you may have. Also start running and doing pushups and core workouts if you arent in the best shape.

  • @stratinthehat0414 how do you contact a recruiter. i don't smoke, but thanks for all the heads up it'll be helpful and im in goo shape but could be a little better on running.do you think its too early to be learning ASVAB or getting in shape when i wont leave for another two years,?

  • @NavySEALsfreak Go to navy.com or google recruiting loacations around you. It is never too early to start studying or running. These r life decesions you have to make. Being physically fit and always learning. Never plateau or give up. This is the military of new and they arent taking everyone because of the high retention rates. Always have a winning/positive attitude. A saying me and my friends made in boot camp that helped us is if you cant get out of it get into it.

  • do you get free days that you can leave the base?

  • how long did it take you to get drafted and all your paperwork to be done?

  • do u do pt everday that 1.5 miles and pushups and sit ups

  • @SteVocArter nah

  • whats the lowest score on the asvab test i can get to join

  • @scrumptiousb0dy i think its like 30 jus ask a recruiter

  • @toknblkguy they want 50's now.

  • @lamordelamiavita I signed in on feb 17 and it was 35 min

  • @toknblkguy its 35 now

  • @scrumptiousb0dy I don't know what the lowest score you can get and join is, but when I went you had to get a 50 to be eligible for an enlistment bonus

  • @scrumptiousb0dy depends on what you want your rate to be.

  • @scrumptiousb0dy Right now its 35 for reserve 50 for active duty

  • @mattrox27 i got 35 im doin active in ny also

  • @pvtking18 Well that doesnt make sense because the lowest score you can get for active at the moment is a 50

  • @mattrox27 idk but im from ny state, and my recruiter says im good to go , maybe thts only in certain regions

  • @pvtking18 No its not by region .. its because the demand for jobs is greater than the jobs available my friend got a 49 and still couldnt get in so dont lie

  • @mattrox27 your correct, i spoke to my recruiter he said it is 50 as of now, but thats why he is waiting until september to let me join, my fault

  • @pvtking18 Sorry for sounding like a dick but when I am right I stand my ground best of luck too you though.. I took my ASVAB today and scored 84 I am going into bootcamp as a E-2 for my 1 year of college and I should be a E-3 by the time I get done

  • I am Shipping out right after new years

  • @mattrox27 what rate?

  • @pvtking18 Like my pay rate? 1644.90 a month as a E-2

  • @mattrox27 rate as in job

  • @pvtking18 I think you mean MOS.. but im going to be a STG

  • @mattrox27 nah he's right MOS isn't a navy term we say rate instead

  • @toknblkguy Well its basically the same thing

  • @mattrox27 yup same meaning

  • @mattrox27 ME 2!!!! great lakes right?

  • @shacoy101 Yeah thats the only RTC in the Navy

  • @scrumptiousb0dy you want to get high as possible. if not, your going to get stuck with a shitty rate.

  • shot's? wisdom teeth? how long for the 1.5 mile? how many pushups in how long? pull ups?

  • @SomeCallMeRuby depends on your age

  • @SomeCallMeRuby w w w. navycs.com/navy-fitness-assessment.html

  • @SomeCallMeRuby males get 12:15 for the 1.5 mile, females 14:45. 60 pushups in two minutes for males, 30 for females (actual test is for 46 for males and 20 for females, but they push you past that until you collapse) 54 curls for male and female (again, they push you to 60 anyway)

  • @SomeCallMeRuby shots, yes a lot, wisdom teeth, more than likely you will have 2 or all 4 pulled if needed, 1.5 mile run depends on age. for me I'm 23, so i have to do it in 13:30. pushups, 60.

  • you have a cover on inside? Squared away Sailor. Jk man, good luck on the fleet or wherever you go.

  • is hard fitting in?

  • ... What tha hell is spiffy?

    Nice vid tho, man.

  • Dinhel I feel you. The recruiter told me at the DEP meeting last night that I won't have to go in undesignated now...he put in a request yesterday for me to have a rate and ship date. I'm not really concerned with my rate (ironically)...the ship date is my main focus is getting a shipdate around the same day I ship out now (march 16, 2011)...should I go undes in march or wait for the rate and a-school?

  • tell your mom to stfu lol

  • what kind of guns do you shoot for the gun test?

  • @trumpetplayer231

9mm, and 12 gauge shotgun in boot. The ship is your gun, small arms aren't all that important.

  • @trumpetplayer231 a beretta m9 and a shotgun

  • @toknblkguy do you have to be qualified for the ar-15?

  • Damn they let you out for thanks giving That's a tease. Letting you out before you graduate.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm Shipping October 3rd. I have a long ways to go but I was in ROTC and was on the drill team for 4 years (last year for drill) so I know my General Orders, Chain of Command, Marine and Navy Ranks, History and all. The only I need to work on is physical aspect and Sailor's Creed.

  • @ToriAvent

Dam, ya you do, you don't really have to work on anything for bootcamp. Sure it doesn't hurt, but that is what bootcamp is for to learn all that crap and get you up to physical standards. Will it make it easier? Sure. But is it a must... nope. Bootcamp isn't hard, It's mainly just a pain in the ass, just remember everything that is said or done to you in bootcamp that isn't training, is probably bull sh!t

  • @manaicchris oh yea bro...we'll be there at the same time (kinda). I've been working out made crazy. I'm concerned about the swimming, but other than that...it's Navy all the way and other some

  • Leavin January 26. ill be in florida at Pensacola also.

  • @Griffinator26

Take it you some kind of aviation?

  • That's what's up; I leave march 16, 2011...undesignated but I asked for the earliest ship date. I'm going in as an E3 so hopefully I'll have a rate after sept.

  • @AlphaBenson hey I leave march 8th, see you there maybe.

  • @AlphaBenson

You'll be striking for one, but you won't make e-4 the first time up.... probably.

  • thanks for the great video. i leave for bootcamp feb 22. i guess i should get started on learning that stuff.

  • @legslikewhoa

Like I told that other girl it's important to know for boot, but you'll learn it all there, having it down now helps in a way, but it's really not a huge deal at all.

  • @legslikewhoa Make sure you know the general orders in and out of order. They will ask you them in random order

  • I'm enlisting soon, how are you supposed to deadman float for 5 minutes? I've always thought you had to hold your breath for it.

  • @cryotimber During the float you can lift your head up to breathe as long as you continue floating while doing it

  • hey bro, do they teach you how to swim if you dont know how to swim?? cuz im leaving this march and ima little nervous cuz i dont know how to swim. LOL

  • @wenk47 Yeah they'll teach you until you know how. They will ask you if you know how to swim or not.

  • @wenk47

they can teach you there, you don't have to be a pro-swimmer by the end, they just want you to be able to stay afloat in the water and move around a little. It's not a hard swim qual.

  • how's a school?

  • @btodalew9890

A school depends on your rate, diffrent rates go to diffrent place for a school. Most go across the street from bootcamp. That place is just like bootcamp, except you get liberty (off time). If you don't go there, it will be a hell of a step up from boot probably, but nothing beats being at a real command, be it fleet or shore. That's the best.

  • after graduation, do you have like a week off before going to A school?
