  • What a sorry state! I remember it well, as a kid, and yes, I took my fist footplate ride on Bahamas there. No pics of the miniature railway on the hill? Excuse me if I go and cry, now. Can't be more than 15/20 odd years!

  • I want to know who Craig is at 1.40

  • Does anyone know how to contact the owners? I would be interested in renting the land

  • Fuck u beeching

  • No...not another Tesco. I'm afraid this has been spotted by a couple from Kent now living in their restored farmhouse in provence. They've got bored killing their own free range pigs and have set their eyes on this little "project". The Grand designs team and Hugh Fearnely have been notified. You can't stop gentrification you know. ;)

  • stood on the footplate of 4472 here

  • if i had enough money i would of bought the land and rebuilt it.

  • @KinletHallsthebest you would not of bought the land, you would HAVE bought the land.

  • @KinletHallsthebest but you dont and you cant.

  • @mitsucanter247365 Really...

  • @KinletHallsthebest crack on then, its 8 months since you said you would of bought it, and looks like you havent.

  • what have the land owners achieved!!!! other then causing a local rail museum closure and dereliction they deserve it good and proper

  • thanks for uploading mate love all ya vids ma fav is the barnard castle 1 a think ill going visit it some time cos a love that sort of thing visting old places like that nice one mate

  • great shame that. I used to visit the centre occasionally, and remember holding one of my kids birthday parties in a guards van! Did they not restore " Bananas" there?

  • I used to volunteer at the railway museum in the late 80s. I can't believe how it's gone back to nature. The Great Central engine shed is still standing. They knew how to build stuff back then.

    Thanks for posting!

  • There's an auction in Matlock in a couple of weeks and one of the lots is this piece of land. How wonderful it would be if someone were to buy it and reopen the museum. I'm too young to remember it in much detail.

  • @RallyBasher A group of enthusiasts did bid for this but were out bid for it by a grand!! Such a shame :(

  • @RallyBasher It has just been sold for £150.000,i do not know what it is going to be turned into .

  • @fastfire97 Another Tesco!!

  • Well if it has been sold no doubt all of this will sadly be demolished :'(

  • Great video love this sort of stuff, I've done a bit myself. That shed is in very good condition actually great find. Fav.
