Thank you so much for this movie. I hadn't seen it for years. I can't believe I finally found it here. A wonderful movie with wonderful actors, a real gem.
As the credits rolled I'd already been reduced to an absolute blubbering fool. HOW DO MOVIES DO THAT?? I'm not sure I've ever been so emotionally attached to any movie or its characters. Oh, and now my sister just walked in to ask me why I'm crying like a baby.
i had to read this book for a report. after i read it, my teacher revealed to us there was a movie of all of the books she assigned us, and she could tell if we cheated. i enjoyed the book and ever since i wanted to watch the movie. ive been trying to find it for MONTHS! thanks for the movie!!! :))

As long as they were in Georgia, why didn't they put those Krauts in Andersonville? Anton would have been shot as soon as he stepped across the dead line!
Book is a lot better than the movie, so much more emotion and detail, but this movie was still beautiful. The last time I read the book was maybe two or three years ago, now I want to read it again.

@videoarchiveman the uploader probably used "with" instead so that YouTube could not find it and take it down. If the actual title is used, then it could be found easier by the cooyright people
@BirdGirlPrincess You could be right there..the youtube nazi police are famous for that BS. I tried to change names on my uploads,,but they still found it.

I saw it only once when it was on tv and the part where Ruth tells Patty that she had been paying top dollar for irregular folks has stayed with my whole life. It helped me to learn to forgive and get past people who treated me badly. It helped me to understand that there was just something wrong with them that I was not responsble for and they just couldn't help it.
I've loved this movie since I saw it the first time it came out. I have the original paperback aswell. Kristy is still my fave actress and I still have a crush on Bruce Davison. Thank you for posting this. I can't find it anymore.
