the biggest mistake that pro drummers do when they play rockband is play the game on easy/medium. they should be playing on expert because its note for note on expert it would be so much easier for them to pick up. frustrating to watch!

They're not mutually exclusive at all. They're just not all that related (though Rock Band is a very good introduction to drums, since it teaches you rhythm, coordination, and limb independence). Plenty of great Rock Band players also play real instruments.

The power of Rock Band: Look at Nicko's expression and posture as the video goes on. He starts out looking bored and disinterested. Aroun 0:30 he starts smiling. At around 0:43 he sits up and is fully engaged. This is what games can do!

To the original poster of the video, make sure the calibration is set for the game. It looks as though Nicko was missing notes when he was hitting them right, with the calibration fix, it will be better. It is in the options menu of the game.

Also, ask Nicko to move up in difficulty, it looked as though he was getting the hang of it! :)

That is because Nicko was playing on the easy level, which would take out some of the notes to make it easier. If he plays it on Expert the note chart would be accurate to that of a real drum set.

I guess Nicko not being able to play this song the right way (which we all know its easier than most Iron maiden stuff drumming-wise) kinda shows that its not really that similar to the real deal. that is all :-) Im not trolling or anything.
