  • the law of the talion: the man who blasphemes the divine name shall lose his own

The pharoah is unnamed because he was held to be divine. Whether or not it is true, you have not understood the importance of naming and naming conventions in the ancient Hebrew culture so you yourself have not done your homework. You have not outsmarted anyone.

  • GOD?

  • That is a weird bit. Deuteronomy ends on Moses dying and being buried. It even says that "god" buried him. I say that the first five books were NOT written by Moses, but by later rabbinical priests. There are no signatures on any manuscripts or books of the Bible.

  • Immaculate Egyptian records of Moses's Pharaoh would not necessarily increase the belief in or verify the truth of the story. If it does, then ancient Egyptian mythology would also have a following today.

  • I will stop preaching to you since you ask me too. So you can carry on with your preaching. But you missed a whole lot when you satisfied yourself with only one complete bible reading. Thank you for your time.

  • Unlike most christians I'm always open to new ideas and evidence. However...I'm not happy to be preached at... Many Christians really don't get this. They seem to think that preaching nausiatingly and continously will work on people as long as it all sounds nice a fluffy and appeals to their emotions. IT DOESN'T. You have to appeal to their COMMON SENSE with evidence and proof.

  • Did you know that Jesus was a descendent by blood, of a woman named Rahab? Do you know who Rahab was? What she was? The importance of why Jesus was a descendent of Rahab? Did you learn the answer to all these questions with one complete bible reading???

  • If you stopped just preaching for a nano-second and actually tried to answer the questions posed here, that might be a start. Why wasn't the Pharoah named? and why is it that ALL of the old testaments MAIN charcters have accepted ZERO proof that they ever existed. And why do the most famous, wealthy kings (the ones that most often had dealings with god in the bible) have far LESS proof that they existed than some of the lesser know ones who did exist? I guess you won't answer..but just preach.

  • You can read the entire bible a hundred times over, and recognize more things each & every time, that was simply overlooked the times before. This is why it is concidered a book of ever living!

  • I've read the Bible six times, and the name of the Pharaoh still hasn't materialized!

How many times did you have to read the Bible until it materialized?

And what is the Pharaoh's name?

How long did it take you to read the Bible a hundred times? Are you a speed reader?

Am I asking too many questions?

  • I already said I was agreeing with blindvoyager's answer. It was intentional, & I cannot find his name if it was intentionaly left out. So it has not materialized. I never said.., how many times I have read the bible. That too was intentional, because it bears no significant importance. Only as an example.., did I say you can read the bible a hundred times & over, & still recognize new things each & every time. No I am not a speed reader. I don't think you ask too many questions.

  • You voluntarily told us.. you have read the Bible Six times. The Pharaoh's name in question, was intentionaly left out. Therefore it did not materialize for you. But if you absorb things you read, like you absorbed my statements in written form. Then no wonder, you miss alot when you read the bible or anything else. Thank God for the Holy Spirit interseptions, when bible reading HUH..!

  • blindvoyager says it best! I was going to point his undestanding out, before I even read what others answerd. So you have there your answer. I might add, Render that which is Cesar's to Cesar, and that which is God's to God. Israelites were God's chosen people, not belonging to a world dictator.

  • great video...funny and raises some important questions.thanks for posting as a response.

  • Have you ever thought that it is so obviously strange that MAYBE IT WAS INTENTIONAL. Maybe the story is not about a specific event in history but God liberating the oppressed and down trodden from any dictatorial leader be it Ramsees, King Henry, or George bush. The Pharoh is a symbol of every powerful corrupt leader, and that is why he doesn't get a name. God cares about the lowly rat farmer, but not the mighty tyrant.

  • Thats an excellent point you make there.I never even noticed he wasnt named but your right it must be evidence that its fiction.I found that funny how you noticed that God talked about delivering them from Egypt every five seconds, haha.I just noticed that the other day as I was reading.I probably would have asked him to please stop reminding me constantly of an event Im not even capable of forgeting in the first place! Then gotten struck by his explosive revenge or something, haha

  • Comment removed

  • Rock 'n' Roll! i guessed it...certain elements of Christology assert that it was a Ramses of some sort, I figured the OT never names him...they always said "Pharaoh" right?

  • I was expecting a guy in a poncho with a cigar. Bummer,

  • Again, Kal, brilliant!

  • wow your delivery is very similar to Eddie Izzard

  • Yeah and jasper carrot!!! maybe is just an accent! Awesome!

  • I LOVE your videos! Thank you! :)

  • What's that poster in the back of all of your videos? When I'm not laughing at the satire, I'm wondering what that poster is of. Yes, I wonder weird things...

  • its just a poster of the family tree of past british kings and queens...the mystery is solved! lol.

  • You sad bastard!

  • Pharoah Scheurbedeurb IV... renowned for being too lazy to keep a diary, being somewhat underdeveloped as a character, and otherwise having poor taste in slaves.

  • My mother loves you to bits (platonically, of course). Your videos are her daily dose of enjoyment and make her start her day in a better mood. She is an interpreter and would like to translate the texts to Bulgarian for some of her intelligent friends there who have started wearing little gold crosses. The only question she asks them is "What exactly do you believe?" and they become self-conscious and then insulted and emotional and say "It makes me feel better".

  • thanks for that, very much appreciated! sounds like I might end up being responsible for a downturn in the sale of little gold crosses. lol.

  • If only! It's funny, none of the friends answer "Well, I believe in something called God, and he did this and that, and then there was a dust-man and a rib-woman and a talking snake, not to mention a talking donkey..." Nor do they explain why are they wearing the symbol of a torture devise as jewelry. .But one of them had the sincerity to say "well, it's a concept in my head" and wanted to talk more about it. That's what Richard Dawkins calls "raising the consciousness" and that's what you do -

  • - "Raiser of consciousness"!

  • On our summer long vacation this year we expect to find you named as the cause for the national little gold crosses industry crash. But take heart - the burden of guilt will be shared by azsuperman01 and his "Whacky Bible Stories". Take a look. They are in the same vein as yours.

  • Brilliant as always! Thanks again for your great work.

  • and thankyou for your comment!

  • You copied my thoughts exactly on the genealogy lists! ... 5 stars!

  • I did? Damn...and there was me completey skeptical about my psychic abilities. lol.

  • Jews should know that the Egyptians were pretty good record-keepers.

And Christians should know that the Romans were even better.

    Great video, man.

Your humour (incredible humour) will be dismissed by some, but your wisdom is undeniable.

  • Thanks for the rather generous comments! It's amusing how the closer we examine the bible the more it falls appart so easily.

  • Wish I could give you 6 stars. New subscriber here.

Ex-Jew who refuses to take her son to my extended family's Seder and celebrate the exodus. I will not celebrate the nonevent and have my kid brainwashed like I was. Looking forward to your videos. --Jen

  • thanks for the sub and comments! The brainwashing element is the biggest problem. It leads to ignorance and wooly thinking in later life - terrible really.

  • That whole bit about the Pharaoh's name reminded me of that scene from "Army of Darkness"

    "CLATU VERATA NI-**cough-cough**"

  • I wish I could rate this FIVE twice or more I would do so!

    Still laughing!

  • Fantastic

  • AAH! Low -lying question marks!

  • A book of hysterical nature. LOL

  • You never fail to deliever the best videos on youtube :) 5 stars!

  • Thanks! Although I feel that the authors of the bible should get some credit for their comedy writing ability too! lol.

  • Well done

  • Awesome video. One of your best!

  • Thanks! I actually remember you also doing a good piece on this nameless pharoah in a video a while back. It's something thats puzzled me right from the first time I read it. I can't see any plausible reason for not naming this Pharoah... especially as God makes such a big deal of the importance of the exodus story throughout the bible.

  • Excellent. Especially since there is no evidence of the Israelites being in Egypt in the first place. The History Channel is famous for its pandering to religion--christianity and judaism in particular.

Good point about the Egyptians and their recording of their own history. Now, who are you going to believe????

How did you manage to get through all that horrible mess? You should get a medal!

  • Meh, I've read about 85% of the bible, and have read certain parts many times. I tried to read the whole thing from start to finish once. I couldnt do it, couldnt get through numbers, aptly named and woefully boring. I saw a documentary on google video about the exodus. Do a search for Exodus Decoded, its actually pretty interesting and made by the history channel, they name a pharoh in it.

  • Bloody brilliant

    You read the whole thing?

    ...You sad bastard...

  • Bloody Brilliant rant.

I felt the same way when I read the thing.

    Please keep it up!

  • If god was real, he'd posess every damn printer in the world to print a correct bible, spread the true word ya know....

That was about 1 of 10000 nice ideas to reveal himself.

    Very nice vid kalsolaruk!

  • When I used to deliver pizza I would listen to a audio version of the New World Translation. The construction of the tabernacle wasn't just annoying to read when god told Moses how it was to be built. It was also annoying because after that long description of how it was to be built, you have to read the whole thing again when he goes back to tell everyone else how it is to be built.

I used to have the same goal of having read (listened) to the whole bible. I still have a long way to go.

  • lol, well thats one way to help take your mind off the mouth watering smell of baked cheese and pepperoni.

  • You mentioned that the Egyptians were excellent at record-keeping and that they wrote everything down. Funny how they never wrote anything down about holding Jewish slaves nor about the aforementioned slaves escaping due to supernatural influence. Seems record-worthy to me. I wonder why they never wrote that down.

  • yes, which really goes to highlight why this Pharoah is not named - they would have known that the bible would be in conflict with the fact that none of this info turns up in the egyptian records.

  • 1 of 4:

Five stars: great job! (But damn, Kal, it makes me want to revise my book so I can include this point!)

The guys who made up the "out of Egypt" tale were smart to cover their tracks by refusing to name the pharaoh.

But two other biblical contributors weren't quite as clever, and screwed up by inadvertently assigned rough dates to the Exodus---each contradicting the other by hundreds of years.

  • 2 of 4:

THE EXODUS DATED TO THE MID-1400s BC: 1 Kings 6:1 claims the Exodus took place 480 before Solomons fourth year of rule, and biblical chronology places Solomons in the mid-900s BC.

  • 3 of 4:

THE EXODUS DATED TO *HUNDREDS* OF YEARS LATER: Genesis 47:11 says that Joseph settled his father and brothers in Rameses: a city which didn't exist until the pharaoh Rameses, who ruled in the 1200s. Exodus 1:68 tells us that many generations had passed between the time of Joseph and the enslavement of the Hebrews, meaning the Exodus couldn't have happened until the 1100s at the earliest, if not the 1000s or 900s.

  • 4 of 4:

Not that any of this proves God didn't dictate the Bible of course . . . no---it just means, His Omniscience aside, His Proof-reading skills are a tad weak.

  • There's so many anomolies and inconsitancies in the bible that I fear that you could be revising it until you're old and grey. Erm...well except for the grey. lol. Thanks for adding that info too by the way.. to say that god's proof reading skills are weak is more than generous though me thinks!

  • Awesome video as always. 5*

  • bible gateway KJV OT search for Pharaoh, he's mentioned 235 times :)

  • yep, that sounds about right! It's clear that God did'nt anyone to forget about him... and yet he fails the have this Pharoah named in the bible. Very odd indeed.

  • Could it possibly because Pharoah is in itself the name of the person? You don't address Tut as Pharoah tut, it's just Pharoah.

It's not like kings, were you say, "long live the king", you say, "long live Pharoah", as if not only is it a title but also a name.

Just to give you something to think about. Good video though.

  • I personally don't buy that idea... unless you can find a Pharoah of the period whose first name was Pharoah. I'm guessing there is no such character. If there was, you can be sure we would all know about it!. Thanks for the input, much appreciated.

  • Nope. Pharaoh is a title, not a name. It is just like king.

  • But you would say, Hail to Pharoah, not hail to the Pharoah.

  • Nonsense, Hieroglyphic writing isn't even structured in a way to show that difference. The Egyptians always specified names, their religion firmly held that it was of utmost importance to keep someone's name and deeds alive in memory to support them in the afterlife.

  • "But you would say, Hail to Pharoah, not hail to the Pharaoh."

Drop the definite article if you like, it doesn't change the fact that Pharaoh is a title, not a name.

  • hahaha good video and good points. I guess its all just bs... to bad... :(

  • Love it!

    :D :D :D

(The mirror on the left was a bit annoying though.)

  • Very interesting video Kalsolar, funny and objective, I personnaly don't like the bible christians, but respect all religions, and you are a very good speaker (even if you talk very fast for me ! ^^), and talks about bible with a lot of humour and finesse, that's very good !

But, I hope you'll upload your music again ! ;)

  • Why do you respect all religions? Do you respect all conspiracy theories? There really is no reason to respect all religions. Respecting people with relgious beliefs is different. I tend to easyily make friends with religious people but I would never claim to respect their beliefs as they are truly ridiculous. And I take no offense to them not respecting mine.

  • Yes, I meant respect all people with religious beliefs, but you're wrong, to respect all religions, is not to approve all religions...

For me, it significates to understand all religions.

I respect an opinion, but don't absolutely aprove it.

Why we must not respect respect all religions, and just only one, or no ones???

    That's stupid!

All the religions are good at the roots, and the muslim, jewish, christian, are respectable when they don't are fundamentalists!

  • For you, a religion, is a conspiracy theorie???

    Stupid thing !

And I don't understand how can you afford that your friends can disrispect your religion!

It's exactly the same thing as disrespect your beliefs, if you follow your religion in the right way.

And a friend have to respect and understand you and your thinks, if not, that's not a friend !

  • Religions are conspiracy theories. Give me a single difference? A set of beliefs, unfounded to evidence and contrary to evidence given. You seem to believe that because more people believe it to be true it's merits are greater, which is a logical fallacy.

  • If you don't respect a belief just because YOU find it ridiculous, and don't search to understand why this belief is believed by a guy, that's you are narrow-minded.

And you mix up conspiracy, beliefs, religion, respect, and understanding, dear ExSaint...

  • Wow, Strong response. My friends do respect my religion, but I wouldn't care if they didn't. I'm sorry that I can't respect someone believing the Earth is 6,000 years old or that someone died to change a rule that he made. I have tried to understand them; I even understand how these beliefs came to be, but respecting them. You've got to be kidding me. Or respect a belief that it's ok to beat your wife with a stick (Islam), or respect a belief that the Earth sits on the back of a turtle.

  • Are you related in any way to Eddie Izzard?

  • THE VIDEO ISN'T LOADING, OH NOEZ!!!1!

  • Great stuff!

  • You can never trust a genealogy that begins with a man fucking his rib.

  • You're right about that tabernacle description. Even the creation of the universe down to Adam and Eve took only one chapter in Genesis. The tabernacle is at least five times longer(!) I reckon auditors took over writing the bible at that part ...

Brilliant as always, Kal. Made me laugh out loud, especially 7:29 !

  • lol, yes - personally I'd have liked a much more detailed description of the creation in the bible, if only to have the fun of watching the young earthers sweat as they try to explain lots more inconsistencies that such a description would have presented.

  • Good point about Pharaoh, never thought of that.

  • Worst part is when you finish the tabernackle, it describes it AGAIN, first saying what it should look like then what it actually looks like, which are identical!

The geneologies are good to read for contradictions, it names everone but names them inconsistantly XD

    I got this :)

  • I don't feel so bad now...I'm not the only person to have actually read those descriptions! Damn...I'm not sure what that says about us...probably need to get out more! lol.

  • Censuses are fun to read too

Ezra and Nehemiah have the numbers of the 43 clans that returned from the babylonian exile atleast 20 out of the 43 are different

  • LOL. Ok. Your explanation makes a LOT more sense.

  • The archeological and anthropological evidence overwhelmingly suggests that the Israelites were never in Egypt but were in fact merely split off from the Canaanites.

  • Go figure :-)

  • Nice man. Nice. Watch out for those question marks!

I can't believe that when I originally read Exodus I never noticed that little detail. Agman has a great video on Pharoh also, but the point you made about the kings certainly is a good one.

  • My guess is because they thought that WAS his name?

  • funnily enough there are other pharoahs in the bible who are not named....probably for the same reason.

  • :-)

The other possibility is that it's for the same reason that anti-semites like to talk about "The Jew"; the moment you start using names they become real people and then you can't hate them so rabidly anymore.

  • Jam-packed full of wholesome goodness and wisdom, unlike the book in question.

  • "Jam-packed full of wholesome goodness and wisdom, unlike the book in question"

Thanks Phil! Mind you - to a desperate woodworm or termite there might be some wholesome goodness to be had from the pages of a bible!

  • Dude. This is several hours of your life that you are never going to get back. Still, it'll give you plenty of ammunition for these wonderful vids. So it's worth MY while. W00t!

  • HUZZAH!!!!! I got it WITHIN 5 seconds. And I even TYPED it fast enough. And then it popped up that IRRITATING message that you've exceeded your commenting limit.

Well, I'm not going to say it so others can have a fair guess.

  • Curious isn't it? the Israelites allegedly spend years in Egypt, wipe out the Egyptian army in the Red Sea on the way out, spend years wandering in the desert and is there a single piece of archaeological or documentary evidence for it? No.

Curious. Possibly the Israeli archaeologists who've been scouring the Sinai, desperate to prove their magic book is real haven't been looking hard enough.

    Nice video, as always sir.

  • Quite right - not a shred of useful evidence. Frankly there's about as much chance of proving the story of the exodus as there is of proving the existance of Jason and the Argonauts. lol.

  • They claim to have evidence. They found a chariot wheel at the bottom of the Red Sea, which *obviously* proves the Bible is true.

  • yea, it's shocking to think that so much real history has been shaped by this piece of fiction(bible)

People are crazy....religion is a blessing to them....go figure.

  • Just brilliant, how are you EVER going to top this?

  • lol, thanks for that - I'm sure there are plenty more gems and falacies of the bible that I can do something with yet!

  • kalsolarUK , brilliant as usual! The floating question mark made me think of edwardcurrent - if you two got together I'd have to call an ambulance before watching just in case I was unable to breath due to laughing for 20 minutes! How about working with him for a bit? It would be a blast!!!

  • I studied pharoah *shlebedebedum* in history class.

    David was here--LOL!

  • damn, you even spelled it right too... Gold star!
