09 Marin Rocky Ridge hardtail with Fox Float R 32s. It was 2 years ago when the trail was like a runway, no it's a bit knackered 'cos everyone seems to want to brake on it!
I did this today - wow! - and searched for videos to try explain to friends what it was like. mfcat, you did it justice: great video, great camera position. (The fork compresses are dramatic, whereas following every moment of the wheel would be sick inducing). Nicely done. My other fave part of Gisburn Forest was Simon's Swamp.
@kingcoaster999 - it's not?! you mean, it's just CALLED the roller coaster?!! Blimey, thanks for clearing that up. That will explain why there's no queue or ticket booth.
THe roller coatser is completely destroyed at the mo, 01/03/10 the whole thing has just collapsed and is unrideable, its just thick aggrogate which you can not ride and huge mud bogs at the bottom of each 1, please do not go if you are only going to do this section, the new jumpy part is excellant though!!!
Thanks I see what you mean. Rode Gisburn yesterday and there are some awesome sections of trail. I thought it was much harder than Glentress black in places.
I've enjoyed your videos as a taster for what Gisburn Forest has to offer but I'm with whalley665 re the camera placement. Sorry to be a pedant but surely if you place the camera in the centre of the bars you'll get a better view of the trail and the view of the trail will be as the current position but without the loss of view when the forks compress. After looking at your videos I'm off to Gisburn in the next couple of days. Thanks!
But if the camera is mounted on the bar, it points where ever the front wheel is pointing, which is rarely dead ahead. Watch the video back again and see where the front wheel is pointing.
I'll do a comparison vid for you and you'll see that when the camera is on the bars, it's very hard to follow the trail.
Looks amazing!

I know what you mean, but I can't get it mounted on my head, and if I put the camera on the bars you lose the trail when I steer!
mfcat2009 2 years ago
Good, but not sure about the camera placement, every time the fork compresses, it blocks the trail!
