  • Looks amazing!

  • 09 Marin Rocky Ridge hardtail with Fox Float R 32s. It was 2 years ago when the trail was like a runway, no it's a bit knackered 'cos everyone seems to want to brake on it!

  • what bike you riding?? those forks seemed to take away more of the trail than mine did, almost ended up with broken arms on the dry rocky berms

  • god i love this place. only been once but so want to go back!

  • ive been before and couldent find hully gully looks so much fun!!!

  • How brilliant is the HULLY GULLY have you got a video of you on the fallen down trees??

  • Was on that on thursday WOT a piece of trail building, nice vid man.there some new trail now with a small log ride quaility

  • AWESOME!!! Where did you attach the camera?

  • @helmetless, underneath the top of the down tube, just behind the forks

  • iv'e just been on that and its bloody gobsmacking , those large berms are awsome , i would say about 15ft high and near vertical ,

    great vid mate

  • its gunna take a long time to get back to the topppppppppppppppppppppppp

  • I did this today - wow! - and searched for videos to try explain to friends what it was like. mfcat, you did it justice: great video, great camera position. (The fork compresses are dramatic, whereas following every moment of the wheel would be sick inducing). Nicely done. My other fave part of Gisburn Forest was Simon's Swamp.

  • THIS IS NOT A ROLLER COASTER.

  • @kingcoaster999 - it's not?! you mean, it's just CALLED the roller coaster?!! Blimey, thanks for clearing that up. That will explain why there's no queue or ticket booth.

  • THe roller coatser is completely destroyed at the mo, 01/03/10 the whole thing has just collapsed and is unrideable, its just thick aggrogate which you can not ride and huge mud bogs at the bottom of each 1, please do not go if you are only going to do this section, the new jumpy part is excellant though!!!

  • Nice idea with the camera placement....like it! :)

  • i rode that today and the weather was great, those berms look so much smaller than they actually are! nice riding.

  • what country is gisburn forrest in? and what part of the country? please say england:) cba to research...

  • Lancashire, England, near Clitheroe

  • Thinking about getting myself a marin rocky ridge. what do you think of them?

  • Good quality footage what sort of camera are you using. cheers

  • Cheers, camera is a VIO POV. Not the cheapest, but like you say, good quality.

  • Thanks I see what you mean. Rode Gisburn yesterday and there are some awesome sections of trail. I thought it was much harder than Glentress black in places.

  • I've enjoyed your videos as a taster for what Gisburn Forest has to offer but I'm with whalley665 re the camera placement. Sorry to be a pedant but surely if you place the camera in the centre of the bars you'll get a better view of the trail and the view of the trail will be as the current position but without the loss of view when the forks compress. After looking at your videos I'm off to Gisburn in the next couple of days. Thanks!

  • Thanks for the comments.

But if the camera is mounted on the bar, it points where ever the front wheel is pointing, which is rarely dead ahead. Watch the video back again and see where the front wheel is pointing.

I'll do a comparison vid for you and you'll see that when the camera is on the bars, it's very hard to follow the trail.

  • I know what you mean, but I can't get it mounted on my head, and if I put the camera on the bars you lose the trail when I steer!

  • Good, but not sure about the camera placement, every time the fork compresses, it blocks the trail!
