@idlh -nope. AC-130 are gunships. C-130 are cargo planes. Just like KC-130 are aerial refuelling planes, so you cant ask "OMG are those KC-130s/?", cause, no those are not EC/KC/RC/EC...and you cant jump from one of thise. You can jump out of MC but not from AC? Got it?

I was a paratrooper in the101st. and ther was nothing like a mass exit when the sky was full of troopers. But it don't compare to this. Just totally awesome. Much much respect. The skill they exhibited here is just amazing. 400 hundred chutes in that close proximity and nobody collided is truly amazing by itself.

400 is not the sky diving world record... simply look at world war ii soldiers that landed in Normandy and other European countries

@6703445, those where different types of jumps, they didnt have the same type of formations, chutes, or altitude. Once the soldiers exited the planes their chutes opened instantly and they then had to dodge AA. Soldiers def deserve more respect but not in the sense of a "skydiving record". More or less just a badass record haha

@nolanofeast This is a record. The military doesn't do relative work, except in tiny teams of 4 or 5. This is very dangerous, because it's so tight when you break off and pull. Lots of chances for freefall collisions. I saw a guy in freefall go through another's canopy (end cell) on a 36-way jewel, but they both lived.

Search "400 Way" and you'll find another video of this jump that is 2 minutes 18 seconds long, which shows the altitude. According to that video, exit was at 24,000 ft and breakaway was at about 6,500 ft, and deployment was at about 4,500.
