Another record i recited when the going got tough on my 94th marathon round the streets of New York on November 6th!!....yeah top 2000 /5000 again at the young age of 54...then an overnight flight back to Manchester drove to an hotel at Leeds Bradford airport...and flew back out to Soul in the Sun Tenerife Eddys venture on the Tuesday...after a gallon of beer and dancing that night i was unconscious until 330pm Wednesday...ha!ha!....Awesome just got back!!! K.T.F.Dave from York formerly Burnley
On the one hand regretfully i never got to Wigan Casino etc, but then again, because i was out of the scene for so long it means...i am not tired of all these mega dance choons! Sod that same old same old that some Soulies whinge about- i say bring em on!!
what happened with my spelling? ha ha. i suppose the girls.just the music, innocent, uncomplicated, takes me away from it all.you could be at your lowest place in life, the music there to transport you to happier times. Keep the Faith.
great track, thats what musics all about, beat , dance , and great sohnds. my heart yearning for the good oldf days, when life was simple, music, scooters, beer. what a great life.!!!miss it all,
I am 21 and have been listening to northern soul since i can remember, this is probably my favourite track, my dad says there is still alot of northern i aint heard which is what a love about the music there is always something ive never heard, its a shame they dont make music like this anymore!!!!!! KTF
this popped into my head today as i was driving up that Great North Road, still sounds as good as ever, had this playing on my trusty sony cassette player when I was in hospital recovering from heart surgery in 1977 and I'm still here so it must be doing me good ktf
@Hoovercat Since when did you own a carpet and shoes?....OK give in to the socks but 48 pair come on ,as for the lino well just dance on your floorboards.....lol...KTF
discovered everything? what cack.....Cecil Washington, John & the Weirdest, Mr Soul.....we could go on and on......Wigan had it's sounds ans Searling was a worthy succesor to Levine...
dr watson i feel it is time to agree with you wigan was crap the blackpool mecca discovered played every record first with the exeption of footsie,You have brain washed me.praise be the mecca and his godliness ian levine.
@drwhatson Fed up reading about your knowledge on what was played where and when, who cares as long as we all enjoyed it. Let me guess you,ve got three tattoos,"Blackpool mecca" on your right arm," know it all on" your left arm, and Ian Levine on your a*se
@soulbrother61 Then don't read it. Stay in your pathetic "Wigan played it all" fantasy world, or go read a damn book instead. Meanwhile, as long as the terminally ignorant "KFC generation" keep spreading false information to the wider world via the internet, I'll keep correcting it, like it or lump it. OK?
P.S. Soul tattoos are for the Wiganite plebs, and far too common for my tastes...
@drwhatson Listen " daft baws"don't need a trumpet like you to tell me what i should or should not be doing with my time, merely stating a fact that everytime i see a posting of a soul/disco choon there you are saying" i heard it first" probably whilst on all fours under decks while Mr Levine was DJ ing
I went to Wigan Casino in 1878 when I was just 14 with a few mates from school in Chorley and I got in cos I was tall for a 14 year old girl but my mates were stopped so we all got chucked out but whilst I can't say I was there, I was almost there!!!
please let me know more about it mick 550 heidelberg kinglake rd wattle glen melbourne victoria australia you r on to something this music never dies good luck

1973-1974 WAS a "vintage year at the Casino"... unfortunately, this was first spun by Ian Levine at Blackpool Mecca in 1975.
Now prove me wrong. Try.

'I've got a little volcano about to erupt/More than enough to fill your loving cup' must be some of the dirtiest lyrics ever recorded. Fnarr, fnarr.
What a crackin' song. Sometimes I think we've heard it so much, we forget what a great tune it is.
Thanks & KTF!
