  • you are so amazing ... wow . I cant believe it ...

  • 9 years ago I watched your videos for the first time. You are still a huge inspiration. Hope you are doing well, and thank you for the push :-)

  • What an inspirational video. I sustained a SCI six years ago, and although I can walk...I have nothing but respect for your resiliency. Amazing and so very inspiring. Wishing you the best!

  • Ive been watching your videos... accidentally stumbled upon them. You are an inspiration whether you see it or not man. Truly shows people there are no excuses! Take care man!

  • new online grocery store: deliver, ehomedelivery, com

  • man, you have nothing but my utmost respect.

  • nice video. Great soundtrack too. I have the eMotion wheels too! they're awesome.

  • Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Would be great if you could share with us on our social network for sci's . google "pushrim" you will see "life after injury". Take care :)

  • @AmericanPowerBase Amen. I couldn't have said that better myself!!!! :o)

  • I don't know why you have the gloves on? I have a hand disability and I find that gloves make it much worse! I do everything w/o gloves if I can. Those gloves looked to be more disabling than the disability it's self!

  • dont u av them trollys that attach to ur chair in usa. ther very useful. i not sure do u call em shopping carts or sumin.

  • finally, a video that chock full of techno music!

  • The first thing I noticed upon watching this video, was how little room he had to get off his van ramp, thanks to the idiot who parked too closely (and perhaps illegally) beside the spot!!!!

  • Idiot who parked too closely, Really? Said idiot seems to be parked between the designated parking lines.

  • What is wrong with your hands?

  • A legal sized file box strapped to the foot plates of a wheelchair also can work. The trick is to make sure the lid won't flop shut because it is really embarrassing when you are questioned for stealing.

    Excellent educating video!!

  • You know I rarely ever see anyone in a wheel chair here where i live and i just think that its horrible that it should be that hard to shop for groceries. Makes me feel greatful but also mad that the grocery stores don't get someone to assist you. Especially since you only have a small basket, don't you have to go to the store alot.

  • The grocery store where I am have slightly smaller carts, I use one of these b/c I also use a power chair to make life a bit easier. The store has offered to help, I would rather do myself. I do let them load the van though! Everybody figures out a way to do the things they need to do.

  • This is an excellent video! Well done. You are educating people and opening their eyes to many things. I was thinking how high items are on some shelves. What if you used on of those sticks that you speeze the handle to reach things. Don't know if that would work for you...or...you can just ask a pretty girl in the store to get something down for you. I am SURE they would oblige. ;) Great job!

  • are meijers only in michigan?

  • No there are some is indiana and a few other places

  • No, do it all myself, even the driving.

  • Why does someone have to drive him? He clearly drove himself. He used the control to close up the van in the beginning. Maybe you need an educational video on how we drive too? FYI I drive, I shop, I clear snow, I cut grass. Yep, Wheelies do it all :D

  • sorry I have just found them !

  • totally irrelevant comment but you are real good looking.Nice film, good music, have you and your friends made any more?

  • woah...no offence but for a guy in a chair he does alot! like woah (no offence towards him)

  • dude i feel really bad for you

  • that little shopping basket sure can hold a ton! Thanks for the vid

  • good for you to go out and do that by yourself. there are some people who get others to do that kind of stuff for them but im glad to see that you are independent. you really made me think about how easy i have it. good luck in all that you do!

  • Two things that would make life easier here: 1) someone should manufacture remote-control front doors (push a button and the front door closes and locks),

    2) In grocery and other stores, a pager should be available for anyone who shops from a wheelchair. The patron simply pages for store staff when needing something on a high shelf. Otherwise, you couldn't eat anything stocked on high shelves: what a thing, to have to make dietary choices based on where an item is stocked!

  • There are door things like you talk about out there, and you made a very good point about the grocery shopping. I'm a c6 quad myself and can only reach to about the third shelf from the floor. All of the junk food or canned food is stored at this level. I can never reach any of the "good" food, unless I go shopping with someone, or someone is nice enough to reach something for me after spending 10 minutes sitting in front of the shelf trying to get someone's attention.

  • Hey was good to watch your video and to try and understand whats its like being in your situation, best of luck with everything mate

  • great job! You are just great man

  • very moving video. He could be sitting at home feeling sorry for himself, instead hes out there doin it. Great video

  • The person was thats why you dont see every part of the shopping

  • o.o I am so spoiled...

  • In regards to the questions about the gloves:

    1. it was cold outside.

    2. they provide extra grip when pushing the chair

    3. I can't extend my fingers, so the length of the glove provides a little extra reach.

  • Hey was good to watch your video and to try and understand whats its like being in your situation, best of luck with everything mate

  • Now I'm just sad from watching this. I think I'm gonna cry.

  • why does he have gloves on?

  • he doesn't have opposable thumbs i think thats the problem

    good video

  • I don't think he has good control over his fingers, his hands look like they are moving fine, but I'm no expert. :( I feel so bad for this man, give him a reward for this.

  • With all due respect, the last thing most people with disabilities want is pity. And they don't want rewards either, for being able to do something most other people can do. They just want to live their lives like everyone else.

  • why?!

  • how much did it come up to? just really curious lol

  • Cooool

  • Dude, the whole time I thought the basket would fall out of your lap. Its a shame I don't know anyone nor do I rarely see anyone who is disabled. I don't think I'll truly care until the day I look in the mirror and see its myself. Maybe people should give up a little food for thought.

  • why do you have hte gloves on ? and when you must get the milk you have who off?

  • i don't think his hands are working that well either >.> if u watch around 4:10-4:12 u tell that he have some problems with his hand. i'm not a doctor but i recall from somewhere that sometimes when your legs or feet isn't working it would sometimes affect ur upper body/hands

  • tank you to bring it a lot cleaner why he has hisgloves on

  • take the gloves off that would help. no offence

  • Your pretty good at shopping in a wheelchair you seem to have no problem reaching for products on the shelfs

  • How do quads retain use of hands, I don't quite understand. C6 is quite advanced. Even though I am para.

  • I'm a c6 complete. I can't move my fingers, but I can still hold things.

  • your pretty cute....

  • you are very strong and have a lot of courage! You´re very cute and is an inspiration to everyone. I love your vids and I hope watch more of them. Cheers. C

  • your strong!

  • you know your the man right...

  • cool video... are you about c5, c6? I generally take people with me, else I'm stuck eating the junk food -- kid's level.

good ballence and grip for a quad,

    cheers,

    b

  • Dude, I wanna know how you keep your balance?

  • ive never shopped before now i know how to do it thanks for the video

  • This is fantastic. I am an OT on a spinal unit in Melbourne and will use this to show patients. How long have you had your injury?

  • Just wanted to let you how much I love your videos and blog--you have an amazing personality, I loved reading about all your adventures, especially about that basket and Kevin! I laughed when I first saw this video because I kept thinking back to the story about that infamous red basket!! Seriously though, I truly appreciate you sharing these videos, it is amazing/inspirational to see the challenges you face and overcome everyday!
