@SonnyWithAChanceLand I've yet to actually see that. if you can direct me to a clear enough video please do so but until i see it for myself, unenhanced and in the rgb spectrum, i'm not taking your word for it, sorry.
had a thunderstorm it was night seen bright flash then heard 2 booms first one was really loud sec was small sounds like space shuttle twin sonic booms i never heard lightning have 2 booms would it be a firework or lightning?
Note the "reverse" (upward) strikes at 0:24. Those will fry you as well. I might add that if you could measure the voltage of lightning (nobody has figured out how to do that yet) it probably would only be about 400 volts.
@BurritoMan281 there IS electromagnetic impulse. When i filmed lightnings with my cellphone, i saw before every lightning a red line crossing horizontally near lightning target
First of all, its called an electromagnetic pulse. True EMPs only exist in nuclear weapons and EMP specific weapons. You might be receiving some interference only because the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) says it has to receive interference.
No, actually, listen to an AM radio, and you will hear it.
Electronics devices are not affected due to the fact they are very resilient of this and are often shielded. Light is EMP, lighning affects all EMP, visible and non visible
yes lightning can be over a billion volts. that's only a gigavolt. positive flashes can be several hundred gigavolts, and have even been measured close to a teravolt.
I rember when i was sleeping and i woke up due to a blot of lighting that hit a tree in my front yard,it is like a flashbang that scears tha hell outs ya
i'd like to meet the mo fo that can take 20 amps and stand up again or do anything again actually, 1/6 of an amp across the heart is plenty enough to kill. the reason some people survive strikes? lightning takes the quickest path down, usually "over" wet skin or wet clothes but sometimes it gets lucky...
it depends on the amps, its the amps that kill u, 50 voltson its own with no amps, u would hardly feel it, y dnt u type it in google n find out.. 50 volts with 20 amps would kill some1 with a weak hart.
If you hear thunder you are always close enough to be strucked by lighting no matter if you see it are not. Anyone care to be bar-b-q.LOL!!!!!! Then stay inside during this time. My tree did'nt.HA,HA .God bless &take care:)
Actually the EMP doesn't occur before the strike. It occurs at the EXACT moment the strike happens, when current JUST FIRST begins to flow. Please get your facts straight.
Referring to your term "electromagnetic pulse" at 0:20. What you are seeing is a "streamer"...the main bolt called the "step-leader" meets with one of many possible streamers and completes the "return stroke" upon contact.
...although "electromagnetic pulse" does sound impressive, you need to do some research on your terminology.
Basically, magnetic fields and electricity can't be found without each other. The magnetic field travels faster than photons. If you don't know what photons are, Google it. (No offense to cocky bitches who will have a problem for reading this.) So the electric field throws off the small charges in the camera = picture distortion. Nice job on the visual explanation Borregocem.
Yeah, like the creepy music. Don't mean to be an a-hole...but ur mistaken sublime..volts dont measure force..they measure potential difference in units of joules(energy) per coulomb(charge).
you're not an a-hole. you just wanted to show your vast knowledge of electricity. that's cool man, and you are right, but you know goddamn well the volt is a unit of measure for EMF. (Keyword FORCE) I just kept it in it's most basic form so as not to appear like a know it all. did you know a joule is the amount of energy equal to 0.737 foot-pounds? Or that the coulomb is equal to the total charge possessed by 6.25 X 10^18 electrons? When you left that comment I was pulling an IG circuit at work.
your retarded, 700 milliseconds is 0.7 seconds 7 seconds is 7000 milliseconds. hopefully your in grade 6 or under, cause if your not you should be worrying. it's a simple conversion
LOL! What are you a teacher. I don't get the whole grammer police thing on youtube. It seems to every second comment on any video is someone correcting someones grammer. So what im trying to say is shut your mouth and keep your comments to yourself if thats all your going to do you fag.
I love how you skipped right over the fact that you thought 700 milliseconds is 7 seconds. And no I'm not a teacher, I'm just not an idiot like you. I'm not saying that your stupid if you don't know how many milliseconds are in 7 seconds. your stupid if you don't know how many milliseconds are in 7 seconds and then post that fact across the world wide fucking web.Spelling a word wrong isn't a grammatical mistake, it's a spelling mistake. You spelt grammar wrong. that "e" is supposed to be an "a"
me and my football team got very close to getting struck by lightning. we were training and 20 yards infront of our group a massive blot strucking leaving a circle of smoldeering grass. very scary
never "epic win" yourself. That is for other people to do for you, proving how much of a badass you are. when you do it to yourself, you just look arrogant.
Whether or not a statement is truthful has no effect on whether it was meant as an insult. In fact, people almost always base insults on what they believe is the truth, as it doesn't make sense to insult someone with a statement that is totally inaccurate. It was an attempted insult, and you failed.
Check out my profile to see a close lightning shot in a few of my videos. Look at the second video under my video playlist - you'll actually see the electromagnetic pulse at the end if you pause it at around 1:29.
great vid glad your still with us , had a near one my self .....will be a little more carefull next time ,durining the storm the storm there were 3000 strikes in 2 hours.
omg... deliberate missinterpretation. the elctricity in lightning "comes" from the ground... the electrons is up in the air, and those move downwards..you can SEE it of you watch any lightning caught on tape. however, electricity was defined as the OPPOSIT way the electrons move, thus the electricity in lightnings "comes" from the ground. but the lightning itselfs comes from the clouds and go down to earth. understand?
