hey scientrophic.., just telling the truth, there's nothing smug about the truth. they can't dance like blacks, but i'm giving them love for trying, and saying they are good. the other blacks were putting them down....you guys can't be happy whenever a black person makes a comment , no matter what it is !!!
we all know they can't dance as good as blacks, but hey , give the kids credit....they don't have to like us ....they have the right to pick and choose what kind of music & people to admire *
@funkybasswah I'm sorry dude, but your reverse racism only reinforces stereotypes about black people, good and bad. It's not even funny. And why do you have to be so smug and arrogant about people digging the developments of American Black culture? One, don't take credit for other people's achievements just because of your race (that's called being a racist elitist), and two, if you keep acting like that and you'll just alienate people further from good music and culture.
Very well said scientrophic (I'm black by the way) I mean, funkybasswah & evanronnie ignorance (grammar too) is just pathetic. When funkybasswah states these young men "can't dance as good as blacks" (disagree, every black person can't dance or dance like this) that's like saying only rock music is reserve for white artist. Like you said, it's all about having fun. Last time I check, the art of music and dancing is universal, don't have a damn thing to do with race.
@MrJuly1990ish Thanks. I know these people don't represent all black people, but it's hard not to get confused when so many of my friends are black and then these people, who are my seniors, come along and say these things, it's hard not to feel insecure crossing man-made racial and cultural boundaries. I appreciate the feedback. Peace and love.
did that in the 70;s forreal grand pa did them dances, why other people steal from us so much, sickens me so much .but u see us on the streets scarrrrrrt to speak we blacks sset all the trends u follow, for goshhhhes stop using the word BLING we stoped using that word when lil wayne brought it out years ago and u people still use it we are the trend setters everybody follows copies ,but u hate us.but copie us.i just wanna know why......start taking up or us when whites blame us for everything,
@evanronnie These kids probably enjoy the freedom of expression that developed out of the American Black experience. Just because mainstream American culture appropriated black culture and has made it a black vs. others thing doesn't mean you need to be racist, too. I'm Mexican, but I party and dance with Vietnamese, Chinese, Blacks, Arabs, and people of all sexual orientations - you name it. It's about having fun even when the man is jacking your paycheck to make the rich richer.
I don't think these guys are bad, but this was in my time when I watched guys like Bugaloo Shrimp aka Michael Chambers and Bugaloo Sweek battle at Will Rogers Park and other places around Los Angeles. They were orginators and innovators of type of dance. I seen them too little guys go head to head more than once and what they did just can't be duplicated, at least I haven't seen it, in any of the dancers of today. Chambers is still around and in Asia they look to him like a GOD.
what is it about Asian popers that the whole dance element is missing. Take it from the one who was around when these dances were being created. Its not just about the trick moves.
i dont think it's cool of you to just stereotype asian poppers as tricksters.
if you were really around when these dances were being created, then you would know that back then, popping and breaking used to go together, with almost every b-boy crew having a popper. look at people like Mr. Wiggles, Bionic Man, Tommy Boy, Devee, to name afew. Back then, they were all about the trick moves.
I ve seen alot better

I didn't see a lot of tricks.. Though these kids just need more practice.
Their dance is still young and they've just begun. Very little dancing going on. (:
But they'll get there, one day.
