I cheered my head off for Betancourt in Denver during one of his first home game with the Rockies. I'm a Cleveland fan living in Colorado now. I told these no-nothing Rockies fans they had gotten a steal getting Betancourt. Of course he had a kick-ass performance that night...
I wish my favorite team wouldn't trade away the last two cy young award winners, or trade an all star catcher, or trade away their only first baseman, or trade away two guys they just got in the off-season. It's maddening, but I can't give up because in like 2012 They'll be BOMB!
Yeah I miss Cliff Lee, C.C. Sabathia, and Victor Martinez. But Carlos Santana is a STUD and he's really young (and i think he'll be better than Victor). In 2011 (this season) they'll be 78-84 and next year (2012) they'll be in the upper 80's to lower 90's plateau. 90-72.
If you were real Indians fans, you would notice that the only real good players we traded away were Cliff Lee, Victor Martinez and Rafeal Betancourt. And lets be honest, in Cleveland, Martinez was very very over rated. Everyone else SUCKED! DeRosa...SUCKED! Francisco and Garko...HORRIBLE! We were lucky that we even got $4500 for Pavano in that cash for clunkers deal.
And other than CC, Lee and Martinez, no former Indian was an impact player in the 2009 playoffs
What? Victor hitting .300 3 times. 5 season with 20+ Home Runs, 3 season with 100+ RBI's and 4 All Star games and he's overrated, I think you need to get your head straight. Garko was a good scrap hitter, I mean 21 Home Runs and 61 RBI's sounds good to me. And I recall Jim Thome has those number in his first 2 MLB seasons, and were you saying, he sucks he's not going to do anything! Oh and we DIDN'T make the Playoffs in 2009, it was 2007, and 3 players can't make a 96-66 season.
This is so sad. Great show Bruce Drennan did on all bets are off with Paul Dolan interview. I wanted to deck the dude but alas, I am not in Cleveland. (sigh)
Good vis but why would the indians trade the former Cy Young award winner and an all star catcher, They Screwed themselves for the next couple of years.
I liked the old indians dolan and the gm forgot the name sucks
