Also what you could do to make it a little funky is to change the paradiddle diddle to a double paradiddle (rlrlrr or lrlrll). That will change the downbeat to the lefthand.
Is that a 13 inch snare? I really hope so because half way through your (very interesting) video, I noticed that whatever way the camera is place, all your gear looks really small and you look like a GIANT at the kit. Frickin awesome stuff. Im gonna try and get the triple bass drum. Thanks.
@ConorDeCatastrophe hahahahahaha, its really funny that you said that... The sizes are 22" kick 10" rack, 14" floor and 12" snare. The funny part is that I am 6'6" and I always get comments on how small my kit looks!
hell yeah keep up the good work. so many potentials with the same sticking! you could use all three in one song and nobody would know! buahaha how evil and fun. jk
wow dude, that 2nd fill is sweet. The last one could make a cool groove if you up the accents and bring the other notes down a bit. Either way, cool stuff.
Those are some great ideas. I like that you found ways to include the kick in the pattern as well. By the way, I'm definitely going to steal that fill from you! lol
Hey Man, I think your the guy from the Sabian forum who just posted his kit along with a solo. That solo video was amazing and I love how you worked in the classic Steve Gadd 50 Ways lick.
dude, the lessons are really paying off! keep it up, this vid helped me a whole lot man!

Is that a small snare and hi hat or is this guy just a very large gentleman?
I don't mean overweight either, just flipping big.
gavbag1234 2 years ago 6
@gavbag1234 hahahahahaha it is a combination of both my good man. I am 6'6" and the snare is a 12" and the hi hats are 13 1/4 K custom hybrids
andyboterman 2 years ago
Ah, 12 inch snare huh? That's given me the perspective anyways. Your kick sounds great and I enjoyed the playing, fairplay.

Nice ideas, I like the second one, or whichever one was the fill using the floor and rack tom.
I added to that using two rack toms and a floor tom:
first R on first paradiddle on floor tom, rest on snare
first L on second paradiddle on larger rack tom, rest on snare
first R on paradiddle-diddle on smaller rack tom, rest on snare
with the end RL on hi-hat/crash and hi-hat/ bass drum etc etc
