  • dude, the lessons are really paying off! keep it up, this vid helped me a whole lot man!

  • i can do this! :)

  • Also what you could do to make it a little funky is to change the paradiddle diddle to a double paradiddle (rlrlrr or lrlrll). That will change the downbeat to the lefthand.

  • awesome dude!

    cool kick-sound by the way...

  • i searched andy boterman and found my husband being effin rad as always! <3 u andy!

  • Is that a small snare and hi hat or is this guy just a very large gentleman?

I don't mean overweight either, just flipping big.

  • @gavbag1234 hahahahahaha it is a combination of both my good man. I am 6'6" and the snare is a 12" and the hi hats are 13 1/4 K custom hybrids

  • Ah, 12 inch snare huh? That's given me the perspective anyways. Your kick sounds great and I enjoyed the playing, fairplay.

  • earplugs bro..... earplugs... ive got that great ringing tone in my left ear because i havent used protection..

  • @AllanJ1981

do in-ear earphones help?? The ones that cancel out like 26 decibels of noise??

  • Definitely some sick ideas there! Especially liked the 2nd incarnation with the floor and rack tom.

  • that was soooooooooo good

  • Is that a 13 inch snare? I really hope so because half way through your (very interesting) video, I noticed that whatever way the camera is place, all your gear looks really small and you look like a GIANT at the kit. Frickin awesome stuff. Im gonna try and get the triple bass drum. Thanks.

  • @ConorDeCatastrophe hahahahahaha, its really funny that you said that... The sizes are 22" kick 10" rack, 14" floor and 12" snare. The funny part is that I am 6'6" and I always get comments on how small my kit looks!

  • Andy, kick ass

  • be patient with you? are you kidding? that is badass

  • hey man your groove it's great!

you said that mike was going to go crazy with my video?

i think he's gonna go crazy with yours

    great drumming

i liked your drum kit too

    bye!

  • I love both beats!

  • that was awesome!

  • Nice ideas, I like the second one, or whichever one was the fill using the floor and rack tom.

I added to that using two rack toms and a floor tom:

first R on first paradiddle on floor tom, rest on snare

first L on second paradiddle on larger rack tom, rest on snare

first R on paradiddle-diddle on smaller rack tom, rest on snare

with the end RL on hi-hat/crash and hi-hat/ bass drum etc etc

  • THAT WAS AWESOME KEEP IT UP

  • i'm feelin' this groove, man!

  • Really cool!

And yes! this is the best video response!

  • you're a legend man. that shit was sick. keep it up dude.

  • dude this is really good. this is helping me with this lesson a lot. keep it up

  • by far the best video response of mike's paradiddle paradiddle paradiddle-diddle RL thingy..... you kinda play like him too..... nice work dude

  • i like the second one.

  • Wicked drive man :D

  • love the idea. great usage specially for the fills

  • NICE

  • that was fuckin sick

  • Awesome! Nice work.

  • Dude KILLER FILL!!! :) AWESOME!!!

  • Beautiful stuff man!!! Great

  • sweet indeed man! double sweet!

  • are those k/z hi-hats???

  • They are the 13 1/4 K custom Hybrids

  • no theyre k custom hybrids

  • Yea man! That's sick stuff although I would work on getting the control to make the non accented notes quieter.

  • nice job man! i just got the pattern down havnt got a chance to move it around the kit yet, should be fun

  • nice stuff man!!!

  • that's great! really good job man.

  • that beat is sick!

  • hell yeah keep up the good work. so many potentials with the same sticking! you could use all three in one song and nobody would know! buahaha how evil and fun. jk

    keep it up though.

  • very cool.

  • wow dude, that 2nd fill is sweet. The last one could make a cool groove if you up the accents and bring the other notes down a bit. Either way, cool stuff.

  • Dude! That was some sweet stuff! That 3rd groove sounded like some nice drum n bass potential.

  • Those are some great ideas. I like that you found ways to include the kick in the pattern as well. By the way, I'm definitely going to steal that fill from you! lol

  • Great job - I love the ideas.

  • Hey Man, I think your the guy from the Sabian forum who just posted his kit along with a solo. That solo video was amazing and I love how you worked in the classic Steve Gadd 50 Ways lick.

    Great video!

  • HELL FREAKING YES! Andy, that was great bro. I'll call you tomorrow to talk about your solo. Great job bro.

    Peace,

    Mike Johnston
