I saw this when it first aired on TNN. It gave me chills then, and it still does today. There is only one voice like this and there will never be another.
I can't believe it took me this many years to hear this song. Craig at Ransomed Heart posted it as part of a play list last month. Well thanks Craig. I've got tears running down my face this presentation is so strong. There is obviously something in Ashley that comes through - strong and sure .
Get her first album and buy it.. You'll never regret and always hold dear the experience of it. I met her at 12th and Porter and drove nonstop from daytona to nashville to hear her do 3 songs at the Bluebird cafe.Worth every effort Thanks Ashley for what you do. Gimme shelter steams........ MJ
This has been my all time favorite song since I first heard it, now about 40 years ago. I have sought out different versions of this song through the years. This is the best I have ever heard. Keith Urban and Alicia Keys second, Bridges to Babylon tour third.
I'm so into the Stones original version of this that I didn't know I could possibly enjoy somebody else's version as much as I just enjoyed listening to Ashley's. Awesome!
Same here, this is song where I first heard of Ashley.. Now she's going to be playing in my city here in July at a Church and I have tix to go see her.. Pretty cool. It's been about ten years.. :-)
I was one of the audio engineers on this shoot at the wild horse. We had a little crappy tiny audio truck. I remember when this was going down live I had goose bumps all over. I didn't know about the Grammy for months, not until Harry Stinson music director on the show told me. I've been on the Dove awards and other shows where they performed. Ashley and Kenny are the real deal.
Incredible talent. I did like the original line mix better I have to say. I wonder if it is around anywhere.
Man I have been at some killer shows in my time but I would have loved to been there for this...I wrote a little bout Ashley cleveland in my book called rock and roll rush..
This blew me away when I saw it on tv way back when. I never knew who the singer was till now. Great job on the tune, and so glad to stumble on this clip.
i first saw ashley doing backups on saturday night live years ago with john hiatt on a song called paper thin right there and then i knew she could wail...awesome..the lead player here smokes as well
I Love You Ashley Cleveland!!! I have been listen to your music for as long as I can remember. I don't know why but none of my family knows who you are and so I have to tell them LOL. I just love your music, I guess it is because of you awesome voice. The song that you did from the Stones was pretty awesome.
holy crap is all i have to say this song blew the stones out of the water she did their song just as or maybe even better then they did i wish i could have seen mick and keith's face when they saw this
workinprogress82, Yes, Ashley Cleveland has very few peers. She's one of Nashville's very best. What a voice! She's also a very good person. Check out Michael Hedges version of this song for something else quite inspiring too. Peace.
.....perhaps she scorns the so-called 'Hollywood' over-the-top-look.....doesn't make a public nuisance of herself, and flaunting style over substance.
Yea, I agree too. Not easy to sing, but she definetly belts it out here. Such a talented women, it's too bad she's underrated. Highly recommended version for anyone who enjoys this song!!!

Too Christian for mainstream audiences, too sensual for Christian audiences. Catch 22
