keep on rocking the forge Haz. never thought you would be one to do a colored blade, but i must say it came out great. simple and elegent. the essence of a katana.
to tint this sword black you must get some of darth vaders ashes find some kryptonite and get Bruce li to run around the world in 1 second and punch him self in the back of the head 2 times ??
@herroYerroFerrow ... Herro...it appears that you've keenly managed to somehow figure out my "top secret" sword ingrediants and speed methods, although I prefer to use the services of Jet Li ! Are you a Corporate Espionage Expert? lol
@DragonNinja009 ...Thank You Dragon Ninja....and speaking of Chuck Norris,...He's so lightning fast...he once ran completely around the world...caught up with himself... and punched himself in the back of the head !!!
@kyleg5359 ... What a great comment Kyle ! In 35 years I've never received such a fabulous statement that says it all, based on the greatest principles of stealth tactics employed during warfare--> Silence ! Thanks alot my friend. Haz
I just bought a 1060 carbon steel one and I need to know if thats really bad quality, can it still cut through things with ease or will it just be a toy to hang on my wall?
@thedirtynasty ... I don't know from whom (or what forge) you bought the sword you speak about from....so I cannot offer an opinion based solely on your question. I suggest you contact the business who sold you your sword and ask them the same question. "TDN"...I've seen some pretty great 1065 High Carbon Steel Blades, so you are probably A-OK in the cutting department. Haz
What is the best katana I can get. What should consider before buying a REALLY good katana Hazamaykiba. Seems that you obviously know more about katana than me. Thank you
Jauniena... your praise is overwhelming...but as you know...many workers are involved in the forging process, specifically, the men and women who are the ones that truly deserve all the credit ! I thank you very much for commenting on this blade. Haz (who hopes your prediction comes true) !!!
Hyoujinsama... the reflections you've noted are credited to the artful skill and talents of my dear friend and worker Xu. I'll pass your comment on to he who deserves it !!! Thanks for favorably commenting, Haz
You-Bet-Cha !!! OMG...Haz sounds like Sarah Palin now. Somebody tell me how to delete my post !!!! (just kiddin'...it's staying put as is) Thanks VN ! ---> Haz
Darn that's one beautiful sword. That hamon is the only kinda like that (it's curvature) that I've seen, and nowadays, most companies don't even bother with a REAL hamon. Good job Hazama.
That polish is gorgeous. BTW, you should leave the sword with the edge pointing up, so it doesn't risk blunting it, unless it turns itself that way on its own.
Thanks James...your comments on my sword is appreciated more than you can imagine, but if you look closely you'll see a piece of fine cotton cloth under the blade so the blade is not at risk. Even if the cloth weren't there, this is a 1095 high carbon steel blade and it is not allergic to wood so there's no risk to the cutting edge (it's so tough a katana it eats wood for breakfast)! Best regards... Haz
Wow, Thats a beauty, Now a days it's hard to find quality sword with a hamon that bright and gorgeous damn, I'll take your word for it's sharpness Master Haz. Dang, I agree with THE BIG, How do you do this Haz lol what you and your guys do is amazing. And the Boshi and kissaki x.x damn you make beautiful swords.
Back in Year 659 AD... one of my ancestral family members (who was out of work and down on his luck), travleled to "Goguryeo". While there, he found a discarded pile of flat stone tablet books that had chisled on them "Instructions On How To Make War Swords". We've been making them ever since! You honor my swords with your kind comment. Thank You Very Much SherubiGashes ... Haz
You have good eyes THEbiglol... I'll take your words as a compliment on the Hamon. Under my YouTube user photo (upper right hand corner of this page) it says "more info". Click on that function for details on the steel. Regarding my being well known or not... my wife keeps telling me "Haz...You're a legend in your own mind!" And she's ALWAYS RIGHT (or so I keep telling her)! Thanks for the comment. Haz
Regarding your question on the 1 inch or greater sori, no "Guns" I do not forge such swords. A 0.75" Sori is the max (for marketing purposes) unless it is a custom order. Hey...thanks for the compliment. Coming from you... means alot to me. Best regards, Haz
