nope but you got it close. Santa Claus is a really bad immitation of what we call Sinterklaas. He is a Dutch bearded guy in a red suit. You probaly know him by the name Saint Nicolas. When the Dutch went to America back in the day they told them about Sinterklaas (which is pronounced as Santa Claus) and america was like: YEAH WE CAN MAKE SOME MONEY IF WE GET US A REALLY BAD IMMITATION OF THAT =D. @leronv79 when they started picking up the commercialization from Japan. Christmas is mainly in Japan as a commercial holiday too, but there are pockets of Christians in both countries. They usually say "sheng dan kuai le" in China which is more like "Happy Holy Birth Day" (sheng dan means holy birth). There is also "Sheng Dan Lao Ren" (holy birth old person) which translates as Father Christmas.
