  • Matt Taibbi is a slanderer and lying sack of garbage.

  • Just another BANK PAID PUPIT,

I bet you can’t even look your mother in the face anymore,.....can you!

  • the banks were regulated correctly Clinton removing glass steegal is what brought us to where we are today by allowing commercial banks to be investment banks as well. Many screwed us over. But government regulation anything slows everything down too much and its why many companies don't like it here or pay good money to keep politicians in their back pockets.

  • Awsome vid,B. Sensational! Good to be looking at your vids again.Nice to be back.xoxoxoxoxoxxoxo T

  • btw, this

" Even China knows that govt action just doesn't cut it, they've been making their economy more and more free and that's why its the fastest growing major economy today."

is the funniest thing i've read in a long time. is this guy serious? china is successful because it's so free? china entered the "free" market like this: "hey, you there, Chief Minister of Agriculture! you're no longer a Minister, you're now CEO of BullcrapCo. go forth and sell what we tell you."

  • what we have isn't capitalism, and it hasn't been for a long time. when banks take billions of dollars of taxpayer money (from republicans and democrats alike, btw) and stick most of it directly in their own pockets, that's something we used to see in places like central africa: a kleptocracy. or, if you prefer, a griftopia.

  • Thanks. Great upload. All hail to thee.

  • @Aliothemage tea partiers ARE republicans. obviously.

  • @LiberaLib

Do you count Ron an Rand Paul as just some more Republicans? If you can't see the difference between them and standard Republicans then you seriously need to take off your blind fold.

You so called "Liberals" need to get back to your roots and stop supporting coercive statist baloney. You guys are being played by silk tonged politicians who demonize their competitors in order to distract you from the fact that both parties are just as expanding govt power as much as they can.

  • @Aliothemage a person that believes only property owners have a more vested stake in a community than non property owners do! I work with people that have that same mentality! they state that things should go back to the days where people of "noble" blood decide what happens to the people! POINT BLANK PERIOD THESE PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN COMPLAINING WHEN THEY GOT ALL THEIR TAX WRITE-OFFS WHEN WE HAD TO FLIP THE BILL! now that someone is changing it they sucker people in believing what they want

  • @Aliothemage for the country! an entity should not decide for the majority! and private practices has been what has been destroying this counrty for years!!! the groups that you fight for did not want half of the rules and government regs that we have today to be in operation. those same people still operate in the groups that you support. education reform, healthcare, disability, social security. when these people can do better than write it out. but don't stop progress till you get your gameup

  • @rhoanmyke

Ok, lets look at these things you seem to admire so much:

Education: The US has one of the WORST education systems in the 1st world even though it spends more on it per capita then almost anyone. Teacher's unions have made it so difficult to fire bad teachers that it takes about 1,000 and +6 months of litigation to fire teachers in some districts. Instead, bad teachers are just sent to the POOREST SCHOOLS where parents have the political clout to get them moved again.

  • Education continued:

Education spending has been increasing much faster then cost of living for decades yet there has been 0 improvement on international scores while other nations keep improving. Much of this is because we prevent schools from having to compete like they'd have to on a private market. This could be EASILY resolved by either attaching school funding to the students and letting students change schools, or by issuing vouchers. But the govt is too corrupt to do that.

  • Health-Care: The US is often cited for spending about twice as much of its GDP on health care as europe. But 50% of healthcare spending in the US is specnt by the govt, meaning that the govt already spends the same % of GDP on health care as Europe does but it is SO inefficient and corrupt in the US that it doesn't even cover most of the people. Massachusetts created a Universal health care plan similar to Obamacare a few years ago, it has FASTER rises in costs then anywhere in the world now!

  • Heathcare continued:

Singapore only spends about 4% of their GDP on health care, about 1/2 as much as Europe. Singapore's govt only spends about 25% of the health care dollars there. IT is the most privatized health care system in the world at it has the cheapest health care with the lowest infant mortality rates in the world and one of the highest life expectancies. Private systems a competition are FAR more productive, efficient, and innovative then bureaucratic systems could ever hope to be.

  • @rhoanmyke

Social Security: It is just a straight up Ponzi-scheme! It bought votes for politicians back when it was first created because the older generation (which has always dominated elections statistically) got it basically for free. Now it's just a time bomb waiting to go off on MY generation due to the baby boomers generation retiring. It's just like our ridiculous debt, it's just stealing from generations who can't even vote to protect themselves yet. It's shameless!

  • @rhoanmyke

And if you haven't already had it pointed out to you Myke, the US beat the USSR in the cold war. Private enterprise WORKS, government bureaucracy DOESN'T. It's been proven in the most clear fashion possible! Even China knows that govt action just doesn't cut it, they've been making their economy more and more free and that's why its the fastest growing major economy today. Are people like you really going to pull us in the wrong direction right as the rest of the world's catching up?

  • @Aliothemage politics just isnt that simple government "buerocracy" is the best solution to some prolems and private industry is the best solution to others

  • @liberalmike1994

Baseless assertion. You basically said nothing.

  • @Aliothemage Tea Party voters vote Republican. That is the legwork. Not sure how you can miss that point. Wall Street wants Republicans because of Republican history of massive deregulation and tax breaks for them. Tea Parties scream and yell to vote for their candidates who caucus with the Republicans under the Republican brand...just as Wall Street wants. Unless you haven't noticed, the Tea Party is not a 3rd party. Politically speaking, Tea Party and Republican is the same thing.

  • @mercerjohn

The tea party got more incumbent Republicans unelected this election cycle then the Democrats did. Not sure how you can miss that point.

Face it, we are currently in a 2 party system. For various reasons it is IMPOSSIBLE for a third party to gain political momentum. Therefore, the only option for change is through changing one of the current political parties, right? I'm all for changing the system to allow for 3rd parties, but until that day I use what is available.

  • @Aliothemage Yes, and those tea party candidates that got all those incumbent Republicans unseated, what are they now? They are fucking REPUBLICANS just like wall street wants!

  • @mercerjohn

Republican is just a name... Is a "Republican" who is for ending the drug war, cutting back military spending, ending the foreign interventions, the patriot act, restoring habeas corpus, getting rid of Guantanamo Bay, and allowing for gay marriage the same as a Republican incumbent who holds the opposite positions on all those things? You act as if the names matter, like we are dealing with sports teams or something...

What matters is what policies are supported.

  • @mercerjohn

And last I checked, plenty of people on Wallstreet LOVE the Democrats, they love their bail outs, their loose fiscal policy, and their competition reducing "regulations" and other ways they play favorites. Both the standard Dems and Reps buy votes through political "favors" at the expense of the tax payer, stop fooling yourself into believing that game is played only by the Republican party.

  • @mercerjohn

    "Republican history of massive deregulation"

LOL! Wow. Stop swallowing the hogwash CNN feeds you. Check the actual numbers. Under President Bush the number of new financial regulations on average expanded from 400 new ones a year (under Clinton) to 500 new regulations per year under Bush. He also dramatically increased funding and the numbers of actual regulators! Standard Dems and Reps are STATISTS. They follow the same "philosophy" but just favor different interests!

  • @Aliothemage Statists? Did you pay attention over the last 2 to 4 years? You may hate the health care bill which is the most comprehensive policy change in the US since the Great Society, the financial regulation bill which put in place over 350 new regulations, higher education reform that added 20 billion a year in Pell Grants and loan subsidies, the GI Bill of Rights brought to the floor by Nany Pelosi, etc. Disagree with these policies but they passed them proving Dems haven't been statists.

  • @mercerjohn

I don't know what YOU think statism is, but this is what it actually means:

"Statism (or etatism) is a scholarly term in political philosophy either emphasising the role of the state in analysing political change; or, in describing political movements which support the use of the state to achieve goals."

That is exactly what the standard Dems and Reps both are. Every "solution" they suggest involves using the force of brute state coercion. It is just plain disgusting.

  • @Aliothemage , you do know it was Bush who proposed the bank bail outs and TARP don't you ? Your so blinded by the regurgitated talking points of " God, guns, and country " you didn't pay attention to what was said in this video . If the Tea Party was against bank bail outs then why are they in support of no regulations on these same banks ? Your not using your head dude .

  • @thevirtueallliberal

Bush? You think I ever liked Bush? Lol, stop listening to propaganda already. Bush increased spending more then any other president since world war 2...

Until Obama took over and 1 upped him in the first year of his presidency. Furthermore, Bush increased the number of financial regulation AND regulators at a FASTER rate then Clinton did! Regulations are NOT bad for banks, they are often tools to minimize competition man! They are colluding with the govt, use YOUR head!

  • @thevirtueallliberal

I love your comment man, it shows perfectly just how blind you modern liberals have made your selves in order to convince yourselves that anyone who wants to shrink the govt is such a monster.

"God, guns, and country" huh? You just said that to an ATHEIST who doesn't own a gun, and is a very loud critic of our government. Think about that for a second. Are there retarded Sarah Palin followers in the Tea Party? Sure, but there are plenty of sensible people too (continued).

  • @thevirtueallliberal

Here's the truth of the matter. The government abuses just about every power its allowed to exercise. It steals from the populace to buy votes by playing favors and playing special interest groups against one another. It is a disgusting, coercive, and unethical system and, with all their faults, the Tea party is actually aiming for the right thing, a reduction in the power and scope of the government. It is up to the knowledgeable people to guide them, not demonize them.

  • @thevirtueallliberal

"He claims it is the TEA PARTY which is doing the leg work of the banks when it is the Dems and Reps who supported the bail outs"

Aliothemage said both parties were responsible. He did not exclude Bush for blame for the bailouts. You are a liar and a DemocRAT shill.

  • @Aliothemage Sarah Palin, the Queen Tea Partier, supported the Bank Bail-Outs. The Tea Partiers are a pawn of the Republican Party.

  • @tbozfan10

A lot of the tea partiers actually detest Sarah Palin. And Republican "pawns" don't get several Republican incumbents unelected as the Tea Party has...

If you DON'T want them to become further embedded with the Republican party then STOP PUSHING THEM INTO IT! I swear, modern liberals do their very best to marginalize themselves.

  • tea party still republican case closed don't full yourself. same selfish agenda. democrats/republicans! hmmm nothing is going in the direction of the people. too much fighting. no ones protesting in the streets no one forcing their hands. everyones to blame. not them alone. we need to stop being selfist and be real. we are in debt! we all need to pay we all need healthcare reasonably. the same ones for years fought ssi, medicar, student loans, childcare, and dip out on taxes why dowelistentothem

  • @rhoanmyke

    Yeah, I won't "full" myself.

What about Rand and Ron Paul? Are they just typical Republicans too? Do actual political stances mean nothing and party names, everything?

What the hell is wrong with you? You're complaining that the Reps and Dems aren't doing anything right, but then you want to slam grass roots movements which are trying to change the parties too. Please start making some sense. If you're not supporting 3rd parties in general, then you're part of the problem.

  • @Aliothemage again it is the same group! You want change try something different not the same thing with a different wrapper! until I see a straight arrow group that focuses on the majority and stop finding was for people to skip out on their debt then we can talk!

  • @rhoanmyke

Why do you care about the name of the party so much? Please tell me what is wrong about cutting the debt by reducing govt spending and waste.

  • @Aliothemage So where was the Tea Party when Bush proposed TARP?

  • @monkeymuggs

Please re-connect with reality. Bob Bennet was a Republican incumbent Senator from Utah who was ousted by a tea party supported candidate. And you know why? Because Bennet voted for the TARP. What more do you want? Where is the grass root liberal movement to get rid of the Democrats who voted for the bank bail outs? The Tea Party is getting things done, and you guys want to spit on them for doing all the hard work! no worries though, they'll suck it up and save the nation anyhow.

  • @Aliothemage, TeaParty going to get things done? Hmm, re-connect with reality?

Let me ask you this, why would a Welder who makes 44 grand a year working at Exxon fight for tax breaks that Millionaires and Billionaires want, when the Trickle down method has basically been said not to have worked, Stiglitz, Johnson, Roubini, Marc Faber to say the least?

If people like Bob Rubin or Larry Summers are always going to be in power, its not going to change, Taibbi and others have been saying this.

  • @monkeymuggs

I't not about tax breaks, it's about reducing the bloated government budget. If you haven't noticed by now our country is heading over a cliff, along with much of the rest of the first world, if we continue our current spending levels. And WHO is supporting "trickle down"? I'm thinking the guys who BAILED OUT WALLSTREET! How blind can you be? Reducing govt spending does NOT equal doing the rich any favors, the rich are the ones who BENEFIT the most from govt spending!

  • Respond to this video...By the way, you still didn't answer the question, they were non existent when TARP was proposed, that's the point I was making. Not disagreeing with you, but you know if you want to do the reality thing, lets be honest.

  • @monkeymuggs They weren't called the Tea-party yet when TARP was passed, the first time a "tea-party" protest was held was about 3 months after TARP passed. But the people who started up the Tea-Party were already doing there thing. They built up out of the Ron Paul Revolution. They were criticizing the wars, the ridiculous spending, and yes, TARP too.

There you go, there's your history lesson.

Now, what you gonna do? Ignore the ridiculous vote-buying that is killing the nation, or help out?

  • speaking of "grifters", Spitzer kind of falls into that category..no?

  • @BrinkmanTraining Yeah sure it is. Like crashing an economy with over 12 trillion in lost wealth, a loss of 22 million jobs and a global credit crunch is the same as fucking $1000 hookers. Sure, they're the same.

  • Excellent content. Wonderful stuff. Progressives need to attack the rhetoric and the propaganda that manipulates these people.

  • Comment removed

  • @seamoremonster Totally Agree. Its up to us to expose these Tea Party fools. Now the whole irony of this Tea Party movement is that the Tea Party candidates that were voted in are now part of the establishment. So in other words they just been doopt.
