@xray608 If a parent held their baby every time the baby cried, the parent wouldn't be able to eat, sleep, shower, or go to the bathroom. Some babies cry a lot. Joshua cried constantly. Sarah cried a little bit. Caleb never cries unless he's hungry or soiled himself. Every baby is different, but if you have a crier on your hands, sometimes all you can do is let 'em cry.
I think that it's also important to remember that not all babies are colicky, and most babies aren't like this all the time. Yes, having a baby is a lot of work, and sometimes you don't know what to do to get them to stop crying. But, they are also a bundle of joy at times, and worth it if you're ready and prepared for one. Good video to show that it's not always fun.
@wolfbane155 Oh gosh another welfare recipient that we tax payers need to help out. Gee thanks. And in return you'll have no baby daddy (he'll leave), No life (friends will bolt), No nice toned body (stretch marks and flab), hairy tits, loose vajj, No education (dropout), you'll have a tough time getting another guy esp one who will care for your kid, etc etc
I believe it is very good to put a video like this on you tube. It is obvious that you are not doing it to just entertain the public. And especially for teengirls who feel there are ready to have a baby,it is good to look at a video like this one, realising that this might happen to them too. Every day, for weeks, months and sometimes even longer. And that is not something that makes any human happy, cause it might just drive you completely mad....
I have 4 children, the youngest 2 being twins, and never ever have I left them to get into such a state as this! stop rocking him and pick him up, colic is often made worse by being rocked and jiggled about, what they need in a bit of calm, over your shoulder, no swaying or rocking ect, maybe a drop of peppermint tea - this worked on all 4 of mine, all you do is make a cup of the peppermint tea, (a weak cup) then leave it till its just tepid (just warm), feed from a bottle or teaspoon,
@holocaustdefender33 Actually, the baby was not hungry---although nursing can temporarily quiet colicy babies (just as it may temporarily quiet a baby that was just circumcised). Colic is believed to be caused by gas pain, not hunger.
@HikageMaru, Oh the poor little guy was colicy. It's difficult when babies that little get stomach pains and gas cause its so hard to see them in pain.
@holocaustdefender33 We learned a lot from Joshua. Since having him we've had two more children and Joshua was definitely the hardest (the other two didn't have colic)---but also gave us the most valuable experience in caring for our other children.
My son like to fight has sleep because he thinks he's gonna miss something so i just let him holla himself to sleep, but my girl thinks its a problem but i more kids than her and plus her aunt agrees with ME.
@JCMEM09 ''Constant Gas?'' well, you could save yourself a FORTUNE!!!!!!! gas prices are rising by the month, and you could just harness the gas in the bawling babies, and run your central heating off it-not to say cook...what a moneysaver a gassy baby would be.

@sammiebes Well, you didn't see the 45 minutes of me holding him, doing the "daddy-bounce walk," trying to give him his binky, trying to feed him, and everything else. This was at the point of exhaustion, which I had to record for posterity's sake. Fortunately, neither his little sister nor his little brother had colic---which had been a big relief for us.
@HikageMaru I know it isn't the PC thing to do, but a tsp of whiskey in the bottle does wonders for colic. I gave my daughter some once when I was at the end of my rope. I hadn't slept for more than two hours in over a week. I had to do something. She drank that bottle and we both got some sleep. I wouldn't recommend relying on it as a sleep aid, but as a last resort, that little bit isn't going to hurt them.
Hey dad a good tip is to walk out of the room he will be perfectly safe...honest, he wont stop breathing and die..I can hear the stress building in your voice.
I understand. People are more worried about a baby crying than the parent going insane & hurting the child. There is nothing wrong w/ leaving a newborn alone in their crib. You sleep don't you? You're leaving them alone. Though you may physically be there you mentally aren't. Who is to say your kid didn't scream their head off when you were asleep for a real reason & you just didn't hear? It's not different. At least when you put the baby in the crib to cry you're awake to check on them. :)
I hate babies when they act like this. I can see how someone can lose it with a baby that never shuts up. I am not saying it is right, but I can definitely see how it can happen. There aren't many sounds that are more irritatiing than a screaming baby.
I used to babysit twin boys that would scream their heads off every time I put them down. I have children of my own and am not a cold hearted person, but I sincerely couldn't stand those boys. I was so glad when it was over. They screamed like this 90% of the time. They were never happy unless they were being held.
@HikageMaru ya that is good but u would do that if you have a 2 year old or 3 year old but he is a new born so u were rite to do that they dont knw the difference 2 and 3 year old will stop if u leave them in the room by themsleves but i mean not newborn babies they mite kill themsleves crying as hard your kid was so u were rite to stay in the same room wit your baby
@rebornexpert98 You can't comfort your kids each time they cry. Sometimes you have to let the baby cry himself to sleep. If you keep picking him up, then he'll learn (rather quickly) that you'll come running if he starts crying. Colic is a condition where babies will cry for no medical reason. They're not hungry or gassy--they just cry. Sometimes, you have to let them cry or you'll go insane. When you hear of people shaking their kids to death, it may because they didn't know how to walk away.
@HikageMaru Colic is a very painful condition. A colickly baby will scream in constant pain. A "grown up version" would be IBS and trust me, it is agonizing.
@rebornexpert98 ....this child is in the 7th grade & cannot even spell contractions or homonyms & tries to argue with grown women about childcare....why are we giving her the time of day??? IGNORE
@Anglynn74 whats wrong with you yeah somettimes u do that if there spoiled and every time they cry your constantly holding them but this baby has not learned yet what he might be 2 weeks if that and hes hungry were talking about the baby hasnt been on earth for 2 months he dosnt knw better the kid is hungry!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope u donthave kids till u have some common since
@rebornexpert98 You sound rather young. Sometimes babies just cry. It's not easy to walk away and let them cry themselves to sleep. It actually takes a lot of strength, because your instinct is to comfort them. But you will literally go crazy if you don't step away (hopefully there will be grandparents to step in). When Joshua was this age, I think we got three hours of sleep each night if we were lucky. That's why I sound so exhausted. I'm willing to bet Anglynn74 has kids and understands.
@HikageMaru Yup. When my son was a baby sometimes we just had to walk away at times. Wasn't easy but there were those gray areas where we just had to. AFter going through all the possibilities of why he was crying (hungry, wet diaper, etc) we just went into another room & in no time he was asleep or cried out. Didn't take long however.
@Anglynn74 umm well excuse me but i can spell words correctly and what your doing for your child just sitting there video taping your son while you knw he is in desstress doesn't make you look good so you need to shut it up cause i bet your one of those parents who doesn't even knw what there doing my advise dont take videos of your child when you know you can do something to help your child........you my friend have some serious issues and need to talk to a professional thank you very much
@rebornexpert98 no you do sound very young. dont try to argue with parents because they 'Get it'..Unlike you.....and don't watch videos just to critisize because at the end of the day these parents no what they are doing. you on the other hand don't.. Go to school, learn, grow up and when you think you might be ready to have a kid still don't, wait it out a couple more years and then go for it...
@Anglynn74 Sorry, but your reply was just plain cruel. If you consider yourself 'older', than you should be setting an example. Spelling lamers need to grow up. Bonody likes them.

@Anglynn74 Unlike some of the people on here who thought your suggestion was cruel I totally agree with it and it shows that you DO have experience with children. I'm pregnant right now and my mother has already let me know that babies cry. If the kid is fed burped changed and healthy yet they still cry, you have to let them otherwise they learn that they run the show. The suggestion was to simply go into another room not flee the country.
@confuse Something tells me you don't have any kids. ^_^ Sometimes babies just cry. A cry of pain sounds a lot different (like I've seen when they're circumcised).
@HikageMaru i dont have any kids i never want any if they are going to cry leik this my mum has kids though she has me and my brother i dont think she will have another one now that shes split with my dad and her boyfriedn now its just me and my brother my budgie my mum and my 2 dogs
Aw... I went through this wiht my guy too. There is practically nothing you can do to calm them down. It is enough to make you go insane. I hope heès alright now...
@thornbaleena He's great---a "spirited" child who likes to run, throw, climb, and play. I have a bunch of videos of him now at age two. He has a younger sister now who is 8 months and a complete 180 from him. If we had had his sister first and then him, we would have thought there was something wrong with him due to all of his crying.
@HikageMaru Hello. I am happy he is over the colic. Congrats on your new baby too! That`s amazing they are so different. I never had another kid after that colic I thought there is no way. My sister has 3 kids and they each had their glitches. But all totally different! Humans are just unreal! Have a great weekend.
couldn't you pick it up and give it a hug or rock it back and forth in your arms? I what I do.

@confuse Something tells me you don't have any kids. ^_^ Sometimes babies just cry. A cry of pain sounds a lot different (like I've seen when they're circumcised).

He didn't want daddy anymore---he wanted mommy. But mommy came in shortly after and he was happy. He's a big boy now.
