Siri doesnt work that well for me.. You see, it looks like it does not recognize my accent but it does understand me better when i use the australian english but it will not find anything on the map or online because im in the states and not in australia. Any idea on how to make it work better for me without sending me back to english classes? :)
If you don’t have an iPhone 4S, but still want to pose spoken questions to your device and let her speak out the answer, give ‘Voice Ask’ a try. The knowledge base behind it is huge (better than Siri) and the voice recognition works better with all accents. Work is going on to add integrated functionality that Siri offers, but for now, it’s a great app that knows details on the strangest of subjects. Get it at voiceask.com
hey everybody I'm trying to make a channel kinda like thatsnazzyiphoneguy and i'm making a couple iphone vids. i only have a couple now but if you could please just shoot over to my channel and watch some of my vids and subscribe. i have cheats and app reviews on there but there will be many more to come. ive been doing 1 or 2 videos a day so it would really help if you just subbed. I know how hard it is to become famous on youtube but if you guys could just check me out that would be awesome!
lol i love how it seems like technology is supposedly advancing but now it's just like centuries old telegrams where you had to say STOP all the time LOL fail!
I have the same question with my iphone 4s?What if I want to say the word period? For example, "This is the first period of the school day." It would come out "This is the first. Of the school day."
What if I want to say the word period? For example, "This is the first period of the school day." It would come out "This is the first. Of the school day."
I have a question for you though, how can you get Siri to write a word without capitalizing the first letter every time you begin to dictate? I like to pause to think when I'm making a long sentence or paragraph and it's annoying when I want to edit or add to a sentence.
Excellent information! I just got my iPhone 4S, and had some problems trying to figure out how to make a paragraph by just saying it and capitalization etc. I Love Siri because I can ask her to type up lots of emails and texts and even change my Facebook status by sending SMS message to the Facebook #
This was exactly what I needed to see, so I'm going to use this from now on! (typed by voice diction on my iPhone4S)
I saw an earlier video when iphone 4s came out and noticed you were saying period. Ive been doing it ever since. I noticed using punctuation is a big help in the accuracy of it doing what you want. I recommend everyone use periods, comma, exclamation or question marks regularly for best results. Thanks Quinn.
Someone should make an app that turns an iPhone into a USB Mic when plugged into a computer, because the mic is better than the mic that comes in macs.
@jbug2311 then it says "number 4" instead of "4" I guess these software are only made for people who speak English as their first language :/ thanks for your help anyways :)
@jbug2311 yeah umm, I'm Finnish no option for that there is a option for my mother tounge Swedish but the Finnish-Swedish accent of Swedish Is totally different to the original Swedish language, sorry for phrasing that too good. And to be honest I hate my mother tongue...
Wow. Pretty thorough video Quinn. I think Siri is a major transition for Apple in terms of their Go-To-Market strategy and Apple is transitioning us to their "4th revolution" in interfacing with our devices. Regardless, great video Quinn! Loving the content quality :) Your ability to let your thoughts flow out of your head so fluidly never ceases to amaze me.

Great video.. Very helpful and to the point. thumbs up!
A couple of tips for Siri dictation 'Siri0us' users :
tip #1 42% - For example, can be written without saying "sign" because Siri understands that the word "percent" naturally goes with the number.
tip #2 "Exclamation point", can also be dictated as "exclamation mark". And you can say 'Full stop" instead of "Period".
- Spoken with Siri dictation
