I am outside working on my gonk now, it's static to be used to keep things in at display tables. Same construction as here but mine "ages" each time it goes out. Started out off white and it's getting grungier each time. I have a soundtrack of droid sounds running in it and some simple LEDs from a wreath for status lights.

By the way, Gonk droid is my favorite character to play as in LEGO Star Wars, if for no other reason than to tick off my friends for picking a "useless" character.

The humble power droid is one of my all time fav Star Wars characters. Back when I was a geek I used to collect SW magazines. One had a section about power droids. It cracked me up; "Power droids would often follow orders blindly regardless of who gave them. A popular game for children on Tatooine was to order power droids off the nearest ledge just to see how high it bounced."

for visibility.. you should just make that square in the front (where the face would be) a finely woven chicken wire type of metal or even some kind of cloth painted the same color.. i dont know if this would be a good idea or not, just tryin to help
