  • This is complete and total disinformation.

    "Marijuana makes you lazy"

YEAH. So doesn't "Good medication" that causes "drowsiness; do NOT operate heavy machinery"

"Marijuana makes you not want to do the things you have to do."

Completely false. That depends totally on the individual person, and how much motivation they have.

    "Addicting"

Not quite. A person cannot become physically dependent on Marijuana, much like they could "good medication". Although it CAN become a habit.

  • I don't smoke MJ, but as a member of the scientific community I would strongly urge the statements being made in this video be more closely scrutinized. Labeling a drug "good" or "bad" is a matter of opinion. Most "bad" drugs started off as "good" drugs once they were isolated in the hopes they would be used for clinical treatment. Even "E", Heroin, and LSD were used in clinical environments. Mislabeling of drug classes and ignorance has led to many a step backwards in pharmacology. /pewpew

  • This video is all a bunch of ignorant lies. I am not lazy. I learn new things each day. I smoke Cannabis.

  • Cannabis is SAFE!!!

  • its all about the amount of smoking weed... example: u cannot compare a married couple drinking a bottle whine while dinner with a bum drinking 5 bottles of whine in an hour. got the meaning?! same with mariuhana and every other drug. everything is about the amount and regularity!

  • You would have a stronger argument if you didn't use words like "good drugs" and "bad drugs". Who are you to say whats good or bad? Seems a bit arrogant if you ask me. Like anything there are two sides to the story. People need to realize this and stop parading their ignorance around like truth.

  • Haha you don't even smoke the leaves...get your facts straight and get laid so you'll stop being so up tight.

  • Wow Mr. Big Penis....so, you think smoking all that dope is what caused that? You're brain cells are definitely destroyed. If Marijuana were legal, I believe it would help people that smoke it not to go to worse drugs. Because eventually, you are going to run into a dealer that sells way more than just pot and when you get bored with that, you will start slowly destroying your life by choosing to try something new.

  • Just remember... Not all "use" is "abuse".

    If fact, most isn't.

Only the percentage of people who have addictive tendencies, which is relatively small, are at risk from abusing a drug which is no more addictive than Caffeine, and no worse harm than alcohol.

  • Yep... Good Drugs like oxycontin

    Totally NOTHING like heroin........ ;)

  • Good educational video for children in my opinion. However I do not believed something was misssing. It is stated that marijuana is addictive but not reasons are given why. I would wish to argue that it depends how the Marijuana is utilized (through a joint, bong and whether it is mixed or not).

The point of "bad drugs" is strongly emphasized, I wish to hear your view and a comparison with Cigarettes and alcohol.

I wish to say that I do not encourage drugs and have no opinion on MaJ.

    Thank you.

  • To try to answer your question, the THC in marijuana causes dopamine to be released. Dopamine is produced by the brain naturally, and is an important part of feeling good. (There are chemicals manufactured by the body that are a vital part of feeling physically good. We feel terrible when they are not present.) Use of drugs like marijuana can diminish the body's natural ability to produce production these chemicals. Witness withdrawal symptoms. So people take more drugs to feel good.

  • maybe it does make you worse at things, but it also makes them more fun.

  • I agree that everyone needs to have the real truth about drugs so they can make the right decisions and avoid addiction.

  • Quite interesting. sad to hear about her aunt.

  • Shaxincat's comment that cannibis is not physically addictive is sort of beside the point, unless one is considering that pot is easier to come off of than many ohter drugs. With that I agree. But the thing is that people so start smoking it and get hooked and it goes on and on. True, tobacco has some very harmful chemicals. The body does not do well as a result of their use. On the other hand, tobacco is not a mind-altering substance. Both are subject to abuse and cause harm.

  • Very interesting video.

  • A good video. Not everybody agrees with it, I'm sure, but when you get all right down to it, it's hard to really believe that marijuana is not harmful to one's mind and body. I know a lot of people claim that it's safe, but all you have to do is look at people who use it and ..... well, it messes with your head in a lot of ways. People can react differently to it, and it isn't the worst drug to use, but it dumbs you down, particularly over time.

  • i smoke it, i run my own property business and have a huge penis, so kids "just look at people who use it"

  • i am a high school student that smokes pot everyday and have been 4 a while and i can say that most of that stuff is not true for me at all or a lot of the kids i hang out with that smoke.

  • Thank you for your comment. The point being, smoking anything is not healthy.

  • What is that is not true for you? I was in high school 40 years ago, and pot smokers did not do as well as those that didn't use drugs. The pot you smoke today is stronger, so how could it be that it isn't worse for you? All drugs like this are addictive, causing you to want or crave it, rather than allowing a rational decision. True of alcohol, too, and any other substance that alters the mind. A drug addict starts somewhere, so it is better not to get on the road to a drug rehab at all.

  • watch?v=KLUmpGOLdgo&feature=related

  • Interesting video, however, it clearly does not emphasize the fact that all those drugs, legal or not, are harmful to one's mental and physical health. Thank you again for the link.

  • Good point. Silly me!

    Thanks!

  • Great video.

  • weed is a good drug! good! don't roll it in with hard stuff like meth and ex, dude, that's just fucking insane. it's less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes, and they're both perfectly legal.

  • Thank you for your comments, but Is it less harmful than alcohol or cigarettes? Marijuana is as addictive as cigarettes, and has the same effect (its burning stuff in the lungs) and marijuana grown today is more potent than that grown years ago. I agree that alcohol and cigarettes are bad, but its a myth that pot is less harmful. Thanks again.

  • People like you devalue the human race by not having the ability to think for yourself. You've taken the word of people who have taken the word of others and never questioned. You cannot accept that a drug can be useful when your teachers in school told you the made up facts about it. It may be psychologically addictive but tobacco is physically addictive (it down-regulates cell receptors) This was so manipulative, it followed most of the myths Harry Anslinger made about pot to get famous.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • Inhaling smoke has never been a good idea, people do it because it's a convenient way to get the THC in the blood stream, but inhaling smoke means breathing in microscopic particles (that can damage the aveoli) along with newly formed chemicals during burning such as carbon monoxide. Nobody needs to smoke marijuana, the THC can be removed from the plant by vaporizing it rather than burning the whole thing, hence no damage to lungs, no carcinogens. If thats too expensive then just eat it.

  • Thank you for your comments. We don't recommend taking any form of THC.

  • I appreciate your replying to the comments on this video, but I'm sorry for being the first to inform you that you are grossly oversimplifying the psychoactivity of cannabis. Chemically, THC is not physically addictive. Marijuana is only addictive psychologically, exactly how video games or television watching are. This means that smoking marijuana or ingesting THC is considerably different to nicotine. (cont)

  • Look, this is a video for kids. The fact is that surveys have shown that teens and adolescents are lead to believe that Marijuana is "not bad", that marijuana is actually "good", and causes no harful effects. Marijuana is a very controversial subject...Cont.

  • Also, smoking the buds of cannabis is very dissimilar to the smoke of modern cigarettes. Cigarettes contain a slew of synthetics that damage tissues and cause cancer which cannabis simply doesn't contain. I have yet to read a definitive study that concluded with a significant sample of people contracting cancer as a direct result of smoking marijuana. (cont)

  • Granted, smoking marijuana is far different than smoking cigarettes, drinking or shooting heroin. However, does this mean that this makes it ok for teens to smoke marijuana? Clearly not.

  • Finally, your statement that marijuana becoming more potent over the years is true, but misleading. Marijuana has been selectively bred (just as all agricultural plants) for THC content, resulting in much more THC-rich buds. THC itself is entirely non-harmful, and is not recognized as a schedule 1 drug. It's even prescribed.

I apologize for putting up an argument; I am kind of an ass.

If you don't mind, I would still like to wish you a fantastic day.

  • Thank you for your comments, as said, this is an educational video. Kids need to know both sides of the story before they decide to try drugs. Drugs such as marijuana, alcohol and tobacco are harmful. Period. Thanks again, have a great day. Appreciate the comments.

  • Marijuana can be harmful if one uses it on a daily basis, tries to drive a vehicle or do anything other than relax and escape reality. Marijuana is psychologically addictive, which means one can like the effects too much and find it hard to regulate or quit. If a person does not use anything in moderation it can be harmful including food, sex, shopping, the pusuit of power, money, control over others, aggression, drugs-legal or otherwise. It really depends on the personality and psychopathy.

  • I agree with some of what you say.

There is a point that should be noted, which is that tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the active chemical in marijuana, has reached record levels in the United States. Testing of marijuana samples from 1975 to present show that the average concentration of THC is about 80%, especially since 1983. .

This is not the same drug as it used to be. Much more potent.

  • Interesting that you say THC is non-harmful. Chemicals that alter the natural functioning of the mind are not exactly benign. One can find all kinds of data that defend many obtuse viewpoints (for many years psychiatrists to "treat" patients with LSD, which makes people psychotic). The thing is, when I talk to people that have used marijuana for an extended period of time, I can tell that there is something wrong. Doesn't take a genius to see drug abuse causes disassociation.

  • actually, while smoking a joint does, i'll admit, do smoke damage on the lungs, smoke from a plain old cannabis bud is not nearly as toxic or harmful as smoking a cigarette. this is because cigarettes have harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, and acetone to name a few. none of these chemicals are found in pot. while pot may be PSYCHOLOGICALLY addictive, it has no nicotine and is therefore not physically addictive the way cigarettes are.

  • Tobacco has some pretty horrific chemicals added to the products that are sold, for sure, and people get hooked on nicotine. No way to sugar coat the potential hard of tobacco. On the other hand, I'd have to be blind to not be able to observe the changes in people that smoke cannibis. We can go back and forth on addiction and drug abuse and all that. Marijuana is not heroin or meth, but I don't have to be a rocket scientist to see what it does to people.

  • This is a very educational video.

  • I agree with the last couple of comments. Cannabis is not like heroin or LSD, for sure, but the sutff is addictive and it's an easy out for not facing the things you don't want to face. People often have a few drinks for the same reason, and then they keep drinking, and so on and so on. None of it is good for you, mentally or physically. It's seems sort of strange to me that anyone pretends that it's not harmful.

  • A lot of controversy about this drug, and a lot of opinions are around that don't have much basis in fact. I agree that a drug is a drug, and none of them have long-term good results on a person's health. Addiction is addiction and getting hooked on something isn't explained away with a lot of nonsense about it isn't really harmful anyway. Real solutions to these things include honest facts, and the ability to take a look for yourself and see them as they really are.

  • Pot is a drug, simple as that. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to observe people on this drug and see it messes them up. It's nowhere near as addictive as some of the drugs out there, but it still creates addiction, and it's pretty easy to see the long-term effects.

  • did you know marijuana cna hurt your game *throws foot ball and it goes short" hahahahahaha this is so horribly made that its funny

  • Well, there is a problem with marijuana abuse among teens. Thanks Narconon.

  • I've been around people who use cannibis and it's no great trick to see that their skills deteriorate.

  • haha this is fucking hilarious

  • Good un-biased information on marijuana addiction.

  • Marijuana has been found to be damaging to your health.

  • Marijuana is the gateway drug. It just leads to worse things

  • the opnly reason cannabis leads to harder drugs is because in order to cannabis you have to associate with people who sell harder drugs, alcohol use doesn't lead to harder drugs because you can get it legally, if cannabis was sold by legal retailers we would eliminate this problem.

  • I completly understand your point of view, I do not believe the war on drugs is working and the prohibition of marijuana is as big a failure as the prohibition of alcohol, That being said; the real solution is drug education, prevention and rehabilitation.

  • very true, alot of people think legalization will sove everything, it won't, once we get rid of the prohibition problem we need to continue addressing the drug problem, i completely agree junkies need rehab not prison.

  • Certainly agree with you that effective drug rehab is a proper solution to an addict. Legal or not, the answer to drugs is not a matter of force or duress. I don't know that I'd agree that cannabis should be made legal, but one thing for sure, the prohibition amendment to the US Constitution did not solve alcohol abuse. It is far more sane to give truthful education about these things.

  • Interesting video

  • indoctrination, theres no good and bad. what a ho

  • If there is no good or bad, then murder, death, addiction are not good or bad?

  • dumpy bitch, i bet she smokes tobacco. she didnt say what drugs her aunt used. "Good drugs"

"MJ E and meth are bad for you" Cannabis is psychologically addicting. Meth and E are physically addicting. basically u smoke some weed and u realize why wouldnt u smoke it for the rest of ur life? u dont even gotta smoke it, you could vaporize it or eat it.

weed makes u feel more relaxed, or study better in school, but did u know... Marijuana is addictive? lol they didnt even say otherwise.

  • Thanks for your comment. The point is, kids (or anyone) should not smoke marijuana.

  • Narconon Rocks!

  • I would rather be "addicted" to cannabis than High fructose corn syrup like the chubby boy.

  • The proper term is cannabis.

You smoke the bud of the flower not the leaves lol.

"Did you know marijuana is illegal?"

    Stopped watching right there.

  • I see a lot of stuff back and forth on this subject. Personally, to make up my mind on this, all I need is the ability to see and hear people that use marijuana long-term. It does have deleterious effects.

  • Afraid to approve my comments? Why are you scared of any open debate?

  • Thank you for your comments. Marijuana is a controversial subject, however, any illicit drug use by adolescents is harmful, be it alcohol, marijuaana, or cough syrup.

  • "Bad drugs" - meth, ecstasy, marijuana. You are talking apples and oranges. Marijuana is not PHYSICALLY addictive period. Meth, alcohol and other drugs are physically addictive. Meaning that you have actual physical symptoms of quitting. That is too bad for your aunt, but you need to do some research on marijuana you have no idea what you are talking about. THC is a medically active compound that is used in pharmacy meds. Get your facts straight!

  • Marijuana is a mind-altering substance in more ways than one. While hippies might argue they can use it to expand their minds, and some patients have medical licenses to use it to fight pain, there's another mind-altering category it falls into that's really not so good. When it's used in adolescents, it can permanently change the brain's chemistry and how the brain functions, said Francesca Filbey, a research scientist at the Mind Research Network at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque

  • Marijuana is definitetly psycho-active, but study after study has shown it does not affect brain chemistry even in the most chronic longterm users. There are a few small studies that contracdict that but the body of evidence does not support your claim. That said adolescents who have any psych problems to begin with, i.e. schizophrenia, bipolar, etc, should be very cautious about their marijuana use.

  • Francesca Filbey disagrees.

  • "What other studies have shown in adolescents is that you see abnormal activation when you try to inhibit responses -- in other words, it makes them more impulsive," Filbey said, adding that it's also been connected to poor memory in some people.

  • wtf marjuana is safer than any drug in the "good drug" store. marjuana is so good for every thing.

  • Marijuana is safer than what pepto-bismol, or aspirin? Hmmmm.

  • Funny you should say that because marijuana is much safer than aspirin. Every year in the US there are 200-1000+ deaths from aspirin overdose. There are ZERO reported cases of marijuana overdose. Chain smoke 20 joints of the strongest weed you can find than down a bottle of aspirin and then tell me that again.

  • true, any drug, pharmaceutical, or illegal, cause death if overdose occurs. The danger of marijuana is the false idea that marijuana has no bad effects whatsoever, is natural, and can make hair grow on your chest. Joke. Thanks for your comment.

  • No one is saying marijuana has no bad effects. It has very well known side effects: tachycardia (elevated heartbeat), dry mouth, reduced intra-ocular pressure in the eyes (why it works for glaucoma), and impaired balance and motor function. Road test studies have been done that show marijuana impairment is much less than that of alcohol. A good self-test to know if you are too stoned to drive is to try and balance on one foot for 30 seconds. If you can't don't get behind the wheel.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • Marijuana is much safer than aspirin. Every year in the US 200-1000 people dies of aspirin overdose. There are zero deaths attributed to marijuana overdose. It just doesn't happen. Aspirin in it's natural form is found in white willow bark. That's why deer will rub the bark off those tree when they have painful antler buds coming out of their head.

  • Comment removed

  • Does this include MJ related traffic deaths? What about the numbers of people incarcerated with non-drug related offenses that test positive for marijuana?

  • a death from a traffic accident is not a death from cannabis, because if they could have smoked the cannabis and still be alive if they hadn't drove, besides no one is saying that we should be allowed to drive while intoxicated, but just like alcohol use, it is our choice to take that risk,

p.s that bit about people having kids not caring for them because they are high, neglect would remain a crime, cannabis use has never needed to be illegal because every bad thing you could do is a crime.

  • Thank you for your comments.

  • so bad people can get it too? so can gay people. bad people more likely to get it, cause they gotta go to the same guy that sells mushrooms and X.

Why did aunty lose her job? cause she sucked at it.

Why did aunty lose her husband? she was an ugly, naggy bitch.

why did she lose her kids? cause she was a single mom without a job. or cause she sniffed coke and beat them.

What about the numbers of people incarcerated with non-drug related offenses who dont test positive for Cannabis?

    Crime=bad : (

  • I am sorry that you feel that way. She is still in pain, as is her friends and family. That may be funny to you, but it still hurts them.

  • not to mention marijuana trafficing deaths from cartels.

  • and the cartels is the fault of the law, people still want cannabis but those who sell it are afforded no protection from the law, forcing them to become increasingly violent and corrupting, the exact same thing happened during alcohol prohibition,

another common trait between both prohibition policies is that use of the substances increased, the united states has double the percentage of users as Holland, that is why prohibition will always fail and end.

  • This is not a video pro- or against prohibition. You make good points in those cases. This is an educational video warning of the ill effects of marijuana. Thanks for your comments.

  • Legalize it then dum dum.

marijuana is mexican slang for cannabis

Cannabis could be used to make papers, plastics, and fuel. prolly more shit 2.

basically 1acre of Cannabis = 4acre of giant ass trees.

how long does it take to grow trees?

how long does it take to grow weed?

Henry Ford made a car out of cannabis, and fueled it with it 2.

lets see ur "good drugs" do that.

  • Thank you for your comment.

  • this is all lies. fuck this bitch.

  • For real honest non biased drugs education get 'Hooked' a free podcast by Simply Syndicated. x :) Avaliable from iTunes.

  • ur a stupid fuckin fat bitch stop feeding the children books of lies , weed has no study of any brain damge or body damage , in fact the cannaboids in marijuana can help fight certain cancer, why dont you tell the kids that , how about actually telling kids that weed is less harmfull than ciggaretts or alcohal, and i support what one of the other commenters said about how when kids actually do end up trying it and find out that it doesnt kill you that they lose trust to you , Kill Cops

  • this bitch is retarded.

  • this bitch is retarded

  • Thak you for your comment.

  • this video is bs

    1 star

  • liar...

"the leaves on the plant have a chemical in them..." ????????????????????????

    YOU ARE RETARDED!

you need to do your own research about Marijuana because you DO NOT know what the hell you are talking about.

  • cultivated marijuana contains ten times the THC of wild marijuana. THC is the primary mind-altering agent in marijuana and is highly concentrated in the flowering tops and upper leaves of the female plant.

  • Thank you for all your comments. Marijuana is very controversial, but the studies have shown that marijuana use is addictive, harmful, and kids shouldn't do it.

  • Not to mention you feed lies like this to kids, and then someday when they do try drugs they realize it DOESN'T necessarily kill them. You've now destroyed that trust between you and the child and they don't know whether to believe other things you've told them, honest things, like that Rx drugs can be incredibly damaging, or even deadly.

  • Every fact on this video has been scientificly tested and proven. And you are right, Rx drugs can also be addictive and deadly. Thank you for your comment.

  • What study shows the addictive qualities of marijuana? And how can you definitively say that ANY TIME you do ANY "Bad drug" it WILL have a bad outcome. While this FAR from the truth, for the sake of argument lets assume it is. Isn't the bad out come of using drugs usually getting caught. What about Michael Phelps? He did a bong rip, and probably many more that we don't know about, and won many olympic gold medals. The biggest problem he ran into was the media, not the pot.

  • The bad outcome of abusing drugs is physical, as drugs do deplete the body of essential vitamins and minerals, as well as affect the dopamine receptors in the brain, mental, as these mentally affect us.

  • this is some bullshit

  • marijuana causes people to be unable to catch nerf footballs!! True shit man...

  • Narconon Rocks!

  • This is not condoning drug companies. If you listen carefully she says that prescrition drugs when used correctly can be beneficial. Too many people abuse prescription meds thinking they are "safe".

  • Good God...just so incredibly rediculous. Do people actually believe this shit?

  • No more than people believe the earth goes around the sun. Proven by scientific studies, sorry.

  • hahahah that fat kid cant through for shit lol hey im high on marijuana loving life what are you doing making gay videos cuz ur mad ...cuz ur fat an ugly and that pot head kid keeps telling u shit lol o god dude when ur brothers get older there going to hate you !....o ...p.s the credits of the video tripped me out watch it in full screen on a 40 inch lcd like mines ull love it lol peace mudafuckers FUCK NWO 4:20

  • So you think that the drugs created by those pharmaceuticals companies are actually better for you than something mother nature has provided for us since time began? (speaking on behalf of Marijuana) Now lets talk about the "cost", how many people do you think lost their lives this year due to these idiotic waste of tax dollars drug wars? And as far as the addiction, the main reason some people like smoking it on a regular basis is because it provides them a temporary escape.

  • Question 1: No we do not. Pharmaceutical companies have been known to lie about the dangers of their new drugs for the sake of profit.

2: The drug wars have taken lives, but drug abuse and drug addiction has also ruined and taken lives.

Agreed on Point 3, however studies have shown Marijuana to be as addictive as cigarettes.

  • AS ADDICTIVE AS CIGARETTES?! thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard in my life.. and its funny you have some uneducated little girl spitting out "sheep-like" government propaganda she knows very little about.. btw I smoked cigarettes for 6 years and quit, and i'll be the first to tell you that if you think marijuana is as addictive as cigarettes you're nuts; marijuana could be MENTALLY addictive, but certainly NOT physical i.e. like crack or cigarettes... leave marijuana out of this

  • ooooo

  • ou812

  • The pharmaceutical industry kills more people in one year

Then the black market drugs in 10 years

Research IBOGAIN , the pharmaceutical industry does not want you to know this

Mercury in flu shots, mercury in high fructose corn syrup ,sodium fluoride in the water supply

Cannabis is safer than all of those elements, it's we the people ,not we the government

  • Agreed. The pharameceutical industry has killed many people, IE Purdue Pharma not exposing the addictive quality of OxyContin. However, marijuana use has been proven have adverse health reactions, and kids need to know the risks before they start.

  • I don't condone drug use and all

If you research sodium fluoride in the water supply

Mercury in flu shots ,mercury in high fructose corn syrup

You will find that the FDA is not concerned about our health

I am more concerned about those problems than cannabis

Do a video on those problems if you are sincerely concerned

  • Yeah, the reason why we call BS on this video. When you lie and say marijuana is addictive, you are not helping kids. Then what do they think that cigs and heroin are not addictive either because you lied about pot? Pot's not perfect and not something I want to see kids using other than for medical reasons. But lying only increases drug abuse. You are spreading lies. If you cared about kids, you might you know do some research?

  • Studies by the University of Maryland have shown that smoking marijuana is an addictive activity. People should be aware of its addictive properties.

  • First U of MD study I just looked up does not say it is addictive. Says it might be psychological habit forming and the evidence for physical addiction is not proven. Nice lie. Many scientific studies say it's not physically addictive. And we don't need scientific experiments when we have life experience and common sense. I've used prescription drugs for my nerve pain and even as a youth experimenting. Cannabis is the easiest to stop. And most do stop using it. How many used it and dont now?
