i've never really understood metal... the atonality, the apparent uniformity (turned up to 11 as it were), the lyrical themes... I used to date a metahead, but she sort of kept her crazy metal life separate from me, so that we'd only listen to Billy Holiday or Tori Amos -- not sure if they are the related to metal in some strange way, which is possible.
