  • saw these guys in seminole county FLA seminole county harness race track . smoked bag after bag of columbian . rocked liked sons o bitches . what a band marriot said the US was the big challenge and you had to sell it it and work hard. we were poor boys mowed yards and dug ditches for a few bucks to buy the smokin album and then get to see them live , god what a time the early seventies . marriot was the rocker

  • I was lucky to see Humble Pie open for

Ted and they made Ted look bad

Not an bands like this out now

  • think i see where ac/dc got there sound

  • I know how he died. That doesn't delete talent. For a throwaway rock song, I wish I heard this on the radio. BTW, the b side of this single "my lover's prayer" is beautiful.

  • This album is so underrated. I picked it up for about $2 only a few years after it's release. No one rocks like this anymore. What happened?

  • Hurt by love?

  • I think I remember when he died reading a story that he and Frampton were working on a reunion. What a damn shame.

  • My God, this ROCKS!!!!

  • unfuckintouchable

  • "King Marriot!" What a powerhouse The Pie Rocked !

  • Love Steve Marriott. He was so great, no one could touch him. Rock on, Stevie. We all miss ya down here.

  • Steve is (was) my favorite. I love this song. Small Faces was great also. That band spawned some great music.

  • @relliott7

Keef says they are the best band ever... .

  • Audio perfecto!

  • Rocks

  • "2 kinds of people that I just can't stand, that's a lyin' woman or a beggin' man"

  • I got into these guys after I read that Brad Whitford was a HUGE Humble Pie when he joined Aerosmith.

  • Bad ass song

  • Rock n peace Steve we miss you!

  • What a great, great comeback song for one of the greatest bands in history. Used to pull up in my high school parking lot back in '83 with this great tune proudly blasting. Good times.

  • Anthony "Sooty" Jones is handling the bass on this song.

  • The greatest Rock " N "Roll band of all time...

  • aside from marriott's brilliance, greg ridley on bass is great. humble pie opens for no one.

  • Got lyrics?

  • Afraid not. Maybe someone else does; I'd appreciate it too. I only ever came across a really patchy, bad transcription a while ago.

  • @NobbyOlder The lyrics are easy to pick out!

  • check out natural born boogie with pete frampton

  • Wasn't it Krebs' daughter that fell in love with this tune?

  • yes it was chyna. however, his wife cheryl sang backup on it.

  • this was one of my favorite artists that we managed. he did a great tour with mothers finest. he signed his managment papers on a napkin in a diner somewhere in europe on tour

  • after the fact i know but to sauerix oh the small faces song of a baker has got that groove that you cant refuse

  • Love it man!

  • if this don't get you movin, you might be dead.

  • I love your comment! Whew. Steve Marriott could really belt it out!

  • Roll your windows down and let the rock n roll blast some Humble Pie into the stratosphere...The Pie Rocks some serious Ass...........

  • I saw them in 1974 at the Colluseum in Uniondale, Long Island, NY with Montrose and Spooky Tooth...awesome show!!!!!!!

  • I saw this same tour in Atlanta. Ronnie Montrose was incredible>bad motor scooter. It took Spooky Tooth a couple of songs to catch up after Montrose. Then Humble Pie came on and it was killer awesome. It was in the old Omni, that is now gone and replaced with Philips Arena

  • every time i log on to youtube to get my music fix, i always have to listen to or watch steve marriott.. His voice and guitar playing just pumps me up every day!

  • This is true and brut rock and roll. Just listen to the two guitars ( Steve and Bob Tench ) sustaining the rotten voice coming out from Steve's guts. He is certainly one of the best rock and roll & blues singer. I recommend everyone who was not yet alive in the sixties to look for videos of The Small Faces, the first band from Steve. He was already a genius at that time !

  • This song rocks!

  • Saw them when they did the On to Victory tour, which from where this killer song comes from.

Another killer tune is Further Down the Road.

  • fuck rolling stone. the liberalism disease has long ago ruined them along with the lame ass rock and roll douche bags of fame... humble pie is TOO good for them. when are you rockers gonna figure out the MUSIC/songs are what's important NOT being recognized by a bunch of libtards...

  • I forgot about this song.1980, when I was in High School.....Sweet!!!

  • This song is just pure bad ass rock n roll.

  • What an unreal song. Used to pull to school in the 11th grade with this cranked up and the windows down. Thought I was cool. I made not have been, but the song was.

  • I think Marriot has the best blues and rock crossover voice I have heard, look at his pedigree, then his guitar, man I love him and he is timeless

  • good old fasioned "balls out" dirty rock n' roll!!!! it's about time Steve Marriott got some recognition!!!!! LEGEND in my eyes!!!

  • Humble Pie rocks on! Where is the good time rock? Smokin' is the best.

  • I could hear this song a 1000000 times and never get sick of it. ROCK N PEACE! STAEVE we all miss you.

  • Marriot,Gillian,Lennon,Plant,Rodgers,

    Noddy.

  • saw them 3 times, kicked ass every time.

    R.I.P. STEVE

  • damn i forgot all about this one. awesome pie baby. killer mojo. Stevie was da greatest.

  • yes ZT

  • Noddy, Marriott, Lennon, Daltrey. Not necessarily in that order. Excellent tune!

  • I heard a rumour that Jerry Shirley had passes away??Anyone know if this true?

  • sounds good to me!!!!~~~))))))))))))))))

  • My two favorite voices of rock are gone, Bon and Steve, but I can listen to them on youtube.

  • I do agree!

  • saw this incarnation of HP in early 80s in a bar in Buffalo N.Y. my ears are still bleeding. Marriott one of the great voices of R&R

  • keep it like pumpkin ,,,, Humble alright face pretty pumpkin

  • When are those assholes at Rolling Stone going to nominate Marriot for the RnR Hall of Fame.

  • I don't know, but "Keef" from The Rolling Stones rates Humble Pie as the best band ever.

  • stephen marriott!!! sweeetest nigga on this earth,,,oh he's dead!~ Glory be to him that sung the good songs of this earth!!!!!!!!!! Steve Marriott is just like the black pearl!~~~

  • das it......bammmmm!

  • a respectable hit here in the USA making #52 in late may of 1980.... song's ok IMO....

  • And what a hit it was!

  • I KNOW HUH

  • I was lucky enough to see them on this tour, Long Beach arena, Marriot is KING!

  • I remember this one, it came out in 79, great song. My best friend broke up with his girlfriend at the time when we first heard it and it became his favorite song, LOL

  • Great one thanks for posting.the Marriott

    experience great.

  • To bad they dont make jams like this anymore! P.i.p. STEVE we miss you

  • My favorite Humble Pie tune. Steve Marriott left us too soon.

  • Humble Pie & Steve Marriott, were simply the best! Rock fans who dont know, and appreciate these super talented artists, are truly missing out.

  • Does somebody know the cover of this song recorded in the early 90s by "Mother Station"?

  • Cool song!! ;-D

  • First Time I Heard This Was At A Humble Pie Concert.Steve Was Playing It With A Cast On His Leg.He Still Managed To Rock Out.Great Show As Every HP Concert Was..

  • Did Steve Merriot die in a fire, that was what i allways heard, someone please clear this up for me.miss you Steve M.

  • Yes he did... he fell asleep with a burning cigarette

  • @theseeker23

Contraversial though.. he was seen trying to escape by witnesses...

  • @theseeker23 RIP Steve...your music still rocks.

  • @drummaster1958 he bought Cigarettes in an airport because they didn't sale his prefered rolling tobacco which doesn't have a chemical to keep them lit. If they had, he wouldn't have burned. He was awake before he died but couldn't find his way out before the smoke knocked him out. Cocaine, valume and alcohol were found in his sysem.

  • @drummaster1958 Died right down the road from where I lived, it was awful.

  • @cudaj2 Im so sorry, that is awful...I did not meet him but am still a huge fan who forced many friends to go see him live, and they may still have ears ringing...

  • This is one song you never get sick of jamming too!

  • this songs kicks ass. flat out. anyone notice the close janis joplin vibe with the vocals? steve marriot and humble pie were regular blasters on my turntable back in the 70's...

  • One of my favorite songs from the very first time I heard it. God, I miss Steve Marriott.

  • Thanks for putting this up! (On To Victory!)

  • Marriott and Pie rewrote the whole thing with this tune. It's our secret, Don't let it out, we don't want to share this with the general stupidity. They would just ruin it. They would just bleed some ignorant sidebar. It's special only to those who get it. We need to keep this away from anything commercial. Just keep it right here. "I've been hurt by love, and I'm a fool for a pretty face". A fucking men.

  • ROCK N ROLL AT ITS FINEEST!

  • Honestly, one of the greatest songs of all time that the general public doesn't know about....Just an absolute Rock n Roll Jewel of a song....Rock On Humble Pie....

  • I seen them in concert with AC/DC and humble pie was awesome. I've also been looking for this song for a long time THANKS!!!!

  • Ya gotta check out the Dingwalls CD. It rocks!

  • my parents still think i'm from mars cause i still listen to this stuff in my car, extra loud. lol...

  • Heck my kids think I am from mars because I still listen to this stuff in my car extra loud! Loved Humble Pie in high school in the early 70's also Zep, Deep Purple & Bad Company, my kids don't understand me!!! LoL

  • Love to hear that. I hope this music rubs off on your kids and they get familiar with this music and continue to carry it on. I was in high school in the mid-late 80's and love 70's rock more than any other genre.

  • wtf hope your kids are not older than 10 :P

that would explain their probably shitty music taste :P

  • This song rocks! Classic blast u never hear on the radio.

  • Oops, my apologies. ON TO VICTORY is a Humble Pie album. Sorry.

  • If I'm not mistaken this was a solo album by Marriott not Humble Pie.

  • on to VICTORY

  • I can see Tina Turner doing her thing when i hear this - in my mind - Nice , Ooh Yeah !

  • "No Money Down" kicks ass!

  • "Smokin..." kicks much more. Good advice also...lol

  • wow, no words can describe the feel good factor listening to this, i defy any fecker that they c`ould keep there feet still with this song...ALL RIGHT!!! anyone got the track "no money down" by the pie which is my favourite

  • When I go to Cincinnati, where peter frampton now lives, btw ("because nobody knows who I am down here)--its true. I blast this stuff on the 4th. of July and all my buddy's family and friends think I came down from Mars. They even call me "anti christ" when they get molared up. They never heard of this or Roxy or rockpile, small faces, etc, wood, elo, idle race, and all, they think my mind was eroded by this stuff, it was the pot.

  • No Money Down is up!

  • I don't need no doctor after hearing this.

  • This one and Thunderbox, my favorites, boy could he scream. If you guys can find "Up our Sleeve" and their version of "Honky Tonk woman," that would be tits. They were both songs one and two on a live album, don't know if it was rocking the fillmore or not, thanks

  • Eat It

  • tHAT'S right, it was Eat it--get these all confused, As safe as Yesterday was and all that, and the old days of him on the uk and kraut american bandstand shows, amazing, amazing the trash they call rock and roll these days, eh???

  • Both songs are up now. sorry about the delay

  • @poolballz06 you get it

  • I on the other hand, have been playing Humble Pie's music ever since I first heard them back in a day, like 1984nejtigers we drove everywhere with the PIE CRANKED UP.

    STILL DO...

  • I saw them in the late 70's in allentown fairgrounds in allentown, pennsylvania along with blue oyster cult.....we had to make the trip twice because a riot broke out and they actually postponed the concert till the second night.pie was worth the wait for sure!

  • And this my friends is rock n roll at its best!

  • dammit steve !!! we sure could use you now!!!

  • The Dingwalls CD has some great stuff on it. Steve Marriott & the DT's is cool too.

  • Still one of the best. This is a great song from a great band.

  • i had a beer with steve marriot in sydney gig april 1982 (i think it was),

he tour here with the banner "steve marriot,s humble pie"

    jerry shirley was with him.

one of the highlights of mt life!!

only about 100 people at the pub gig!! magic does happen.

  • April 1991 Was a sad Day in rock nroll and Music History,Rock On Steve

  • Steve was a damn good rocker, and Humble pie a great band i say bring back these kinda bands anyday, because the stuff we have today does not compare.
