  • I hear ya PE. While we're at it, let's look at NY ex gov too.(Spitzer )..On Febr 14 2008, the washington post published an article by Spitzer , where he accused the Bush admiinistration of A LOT of efed up things in respect to the whole predatory lending practices that were goin on ( google search ). Weeks later, he was brought down with that whole prostitute thing, another thing that constantly goes on in poitics. " Step outta line, the man come and take you away??" Yeah..

  • here's thething. Blogo is steping on high power's feet. I don't see people, names or places, I see patterns. and when i see that the same DISinfo is being projected in every aspect against him i know that his oponents are unified like glue. the day before his arrest which still has no basis, he has issued an ultimatum to BofA to give credit to a colapsing company. We live in a financial dictatorship and all who go against loose 'funding' & destroyed by the rest of slaves for daring to question

  • Something similar happened to Dennis Kucinich, when he was the mayor of Cleveland in the 70's. He refused to sell the public electric system to the bank to shore up Cleveland's debt. The banks threatened to bankrupt the city, if he didn't sell. He didn't sell, and the banking wolves attacked. He lost the next election and went into political exile for 15 years. He was later vindicated, and soon elected to Congress. YouTube has video of the story.

  • I think Blago might be guilty but I also think that his whole problem may be because he made the "B of A's" angry and they have more power than the President or anyone except their rivals at AIG, Lehman Brothers, etc. Put all the finacial CEO's in Jail and we could solve some of our problems.

  • amen! on the CEO's.

Mostly, I think the downstate Illinois conservatives didn't like Blago's progressive policies. He said they've been trying to get rid of him for 4-5 years, even before he got re-elected.

Anyway, the media is treating him like a joke and ignoring the back story that explains his actions. And, they never question Fitzpatrick's outing. It was a public mob trial, subverting the legal system.

  • I agree with you. I just wanted to get my opinion about the financial institutions being the root of out monetary problems.

  • Article 13, section 1, of Illinois State Constitution states the following:

SECTION 1. DISQUALIFICATION FOR PUBLIC OFFICE

A person convicted of a felony, bribery, perjury or other infamous crime shall be ineligible to hold an office created by this Constitution. Eligibility may be restored as provided

    by law.

Conclusion: The impeachment panel is not a judicial trial. It's a legislative hearing. If there is no criminal or civil court trial, then there is no conviction.

  • shimp, So, are you saying the IL Senate cannot impeach Blago? Its looks as though they are proceeding without a conviction

  • (sigh) Well, I did some more reading in the state constitution.

Article 4, Section 14, entitled 'The Legislature: IMPEACHMENT', says they can. So I take it back.

I still think he's getting a raw deal though, in the form of a political and legal bait-n-switch.

  • You are so correct!!!!

  • wow you changed my opinion of him somewhat. The press is playing him as this deluded crook grabbing at straws comparing himself to every saint and martyr there is and I have heard a lot of rhetoric from Blagojevich about how this is wrong and how they're out to get him, but for everything I have heard on the news for all their speculating, they have never once touched on WHY someone would be out to get Blagojevich. I hope he can be a martyr of sorts and take a bunch of these jokers with him.

  • Media owes their survival to Bankers.

  • 110% agreed.

  • Wow, he fought to keep Wrigley Field in Chicago? I didn't know that, we should probably make him president for his noble stand against all those who wanted to move it.

RodBlo may not be any more guilty than any other politician, but see through his bull, man.

  • I completely agree
