As a kid, I loved Rocko's Modern Life, but all of the sexual innuendos and whatnot flew right over my head. Now, as an adult, I have plenty of reason to enjoy the show all over again. Children's programming has always included some kind of angle--whether it's about subverting traditional norms and culture (Rocko!) or promoting "wholesome" values (Veggie Tales). Whether you consider a show inappropriate for children or not depends on your own perspective as a traditionalist or a progressive.

This was on Nickelodeon as a child!?!?!? I dont remember it being so adult like.. and now I'm an adult I'm totally disgusted this show should never have aired on a children's network. I just shared this with my 5 year old trying to relive childhood memories but we both sat here and disgusted. @TotallyLisaCartoons It's surprisingly good for an American - I'm Australian, and it's usually disappointing hearing people in cartoons with terrible Aussie accents (like in the Simpsons episode where Bart calls Australia). He does sound more English at some points but at least he doesn't sound too ocker (all 'g'daaaaay maaate').

Kids these days aren't gonna have the fun of going back to their old favorite shows and laughing when they grow up.

I'm nearly 19 and I still love these shows. They're made for the whole family. Keeps families together. Without these innuendos there's nothing keeping families together. Parents and children will fight for the remote because parents can't stand to watch the kids' shows. If/when I ever reproduce (so many people fear that day), there will not be TV. There will be awesomeness.
