  • he has a house in hove east sussex... 10 minute drive from my house... =)))

  • @mattaystig Good For you boy!!

deliver iranian rock fans deep deep respects

we'll never have the chance to be in a live show as a dam back sitting audience!

Have shit on my messy life!

  • I HAVE MET DAVID GILMOUR! all my life i had watched him thinking what would i do if i did??? then on the 16th of august 2008 at 20.16pm i was in the hotdog line and turn round to dave standing behind me... i could never explain in words the feeling i felt at that moment!!!!!!! my life was complete at that very MOMENT!!!!!!!! =))

  • @mattaystig what town does he live in?

  • what about SORROW?

David himself confesses that he is not good at lyrics. But is it all? Lyrics is half of the Songs

David's songs are outstanding,His music is PF's music. If you go there and listen to Roger's solo songs clearly u'll notice lack of soul in his music! Lyrics is profound but lacks soul in melody. The same story is in David's Lyrics.anyway,I adore Gilmour .Pf's two last albums Are PF's masterpieces.I do believe in this

  • @AICTAHA i couldnt agree more buddy!!! SHINE ON =)))

  • David can't write lyrics to save his life! Polly actually wrote "On an Island" and it's no secret that David didn't write most of "Division Bell" & "Momentary lapse." David writes amazing music but most of his lyrics end up being about walking around in the woods holding hands. It doesn't go to well with intense, dark melodies... What I loved about MLOR & DB was that they took the Floyd sound back to a point when everyone had input, like during the "Meddle" , "Obscured" and "More" years...

  • @dreamwad1 I agree that MLOR and DB feel like they are more a product of the whole band, but they mostly sound much more generic than PF previous stuff. Gilmour kicks ass musically any time he composes something with a guitar in between, but he lacks the direction of sheer emotion Roger's stuff conveyed. Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut are just overwhelmingly emotional, and Roger's lyrics are just kickass; the dude just poured himself on them. I doubt I've heard better lyrics than those.

  • In my dreams I still hope that Floyd will re-unite & record that new album that Roger started but never released. He wrote & recorded tracks but then put the whole thing on hold to tour for 10 years!! I know it's not very likely but it would be the perfect way to re-unite the band. In reality I doubt that David & Nick would simply let Roger lead the band & record HIS album but that's what made Floyd great. Rogers emotional, intense lyrics combined with David's emotional, intense guitar work.

  • Early Pink Floyd was progressive and their concerts were very improvisational. I love some of those 70's shows where they would jam out the end of SOYCD for 10 or 20 minutes. I wish they would release some of those old shows. They are releasing the 74 Wembley show!! It will be included in the new "IMMERSION" box sets coming next month!! They will also include one of the very early DSOTM shows from 72! & early Animals tracks from 74 ("Raving & Drooling" & "You've Got to be Crazy") I can't wait!!

  • RIP Richard Wright. I cherish all live footage of you. Arguably the most underrated member of the Floyd, but I'm not in the mood to argue.

  • the lord of the 6 string, that fender is beautiful

  • @twotellys12 He could control it even if there was a hurricane! He is most probably the best guitarist....in my opinion he is!

  • Joint effort of Dave Gilmour and the almighty Patrick Leonard, two absolute greats in the alternative music scene.

  • THIS concert is so lovely. Much more better than official DSOT, cause they look like a pale band and seem unnatural there

  • i was born on this day.

  • @BlueNote4003 .Happy Bday in advance.

  • few weeks before they played at Cava deiTirreni,Salerno, near Napoli,I was there I can't really forget them...

  • DU CA RA LE O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dobre, ale Nick Mason zawiódł

  • A great song.I love the keyboard solo

  • i can confirm the back story as i was at the concert and lived in Italy at the time. The concert was absolutely phenomenal. The square was extremely packed and the Carabinieri sealed off all entrances to the square because it was packed. And there were some stampedes but nothing serious. I was located near the church. The sound was terrific.

  • THe Gilmour led years were Pink Floyd at it's peak. David took the band to the next level after Roger leaving. The band was bigger than ever in 1986-96. Two brilliant albums and tours.

  • One of my favourite songs of late Floyd!

  • GRANDI I PINK FLOYD

  • Glad you posted the backstory on the Venice politics.......what a historic event!

  • fat 80s sound :)

  • c'ero anche iooooooooooooooooooooo

  • . .from 4:15 for a while . . man!!!

  • Grande pezzo, grandissimo album A Momentary Lapse of Reason, e pure The Division Bell : immenso Gilmour, in culo Waters , senza lui hanno fatto meglio !

  • capolavoro

  • Rogers music more angry, but they still created awesome songs but this, this is just peaceful and Epic.

  • Epic!

  • No! Wouldn't take a post from someone that truly is their username either.

  • This song is very under-appreciated, IMO. One of Floyd's best, and most moving pieces. It sounds amazing live, too (see: Delicate Sound of Thunder). Awesome.

  • @tehacesn1p3r IMO the Delicate Sound Of Thunder version is the best...it's such a shame that they didn't put it on film...I would die happy f I got to see that version live!

  • @tehacesn1p3r I agree. Plus I remember reading a Rolling Stone article when this CD was released stating that Gilmour's passion had gone out of his guitar solos. But the studio version of this song is one of the best guitar solos I've ever heard. Gilmour has something unique: an original guitar sound and style. He's the best!

  • i think a solo has been removed from the start of this song either that or they should bloody add one

  • i'll be totally honest i loved the music before roger waters left but i didnt like him so much due to the fact that he hogged the spotlight i feel in my opinion that there was a battle of wills between gilmour and roger. Anyway i loved the years after gilmour left it showed gilmours true abilities as a frontman. does anyone agree

  • The Gilmour years are very underrated, yes. Most people don't acknowledge them, but A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell had a great feel, and are just all-around great albums to listen to.

  • @MrPinkFloyd882 Agreed

  • @MrPinkFloyd882 Well what I get a kick out of is Pink Floyd is supposed to be a progressive band. Yet people expect their sound to remain the same. Even if you compare Dark Side to earlier material there is a noticeable change. So the change after Waters departure doesn't really seem that big of a deal for me. It just saddens me that we only had two albums so far. Now with Wright having passed I really wonder if there will be more, one last album from Floyd?

  • i love this so much! god i wish so bad i couldve gone to one of their shows! so amazing!

did nick jump up and play drums above his head at one point? it looked like it...

and this is random...but is it just me or did david gilmour age like A LOT between 84-89?

  • he aged alot more from 89-94, just look at him at this concert and then compare it to Pulse! Hes still amazing!

  • ooo yeah hes totally amazing! best guitarist ever! i love the close up on his hands.. its crazy watching him play! i totally wish he would agree to do the comeback tour! it would be AMAZING to see them live...the comment on the aging is just a side note...

  • It was Gary Wallis jumping.

  • I am sure at 4:34- 4:45 makes Van Halen fans say " HEY "? Hey eddie did that? WTF

not to say Gilmour had been making sonic sound since 1962/

  • musik an spirit outa space... really!

  • sonzeira progressiva animal..........

  • A Momentary Lapse Of Reason......world class material by world class musicians!

  • That's pretty sick looking what he does with the guitar at 4:43. Awesome song.

  • Unbelievable performance by everyone. So much emotion, brilliant. THIS is true music, not the garbage swamping the top 40 today.

Saw Floyd in in 1992. Astonishing.

  • Gilmour was great here. Love the raw angry vocals and sound. Good job!!

  • A man in black snow white horse!

  • IMHO, i thougth the light showe on this toure was better than 1994/95. It is just the video quality, or the arena they were in

  • songs like this are so relaxing, makes it easier to go threw life with just listening to things such as this

  • This performance is amazing! I love those drums at the beginning.

  • i love pink floyddddddddddd to bad there broke up now and im only 9 and i think he's great

  • why arent you being supervised while on the internet. Wheres your parents

  • leave him alone u cunt, go on sean, keep listenin to the pink floyd u legend!

  • Quiet Troll, I was being sarcastic, you fuck

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • the Delicate Sound Of Thunder version is the bets by far

  • I wholeheartedly agree to that

  • ita a shame the light show on this tour was so poor, or didnt come out well on video.

  • my favourite song on the album

  • About the best albums ever... i realy can say a favorite... i love all albums.. all. But mostly i hear meedle lately, and atom heart mother. Lol what am i saying , i listen to all. Pink Floyd is my life completely.

  • And i do love this song, slow drums with great impact, wontderfull keyboard work by Rick as allways, and a great agony guitar worrk. its a prety deep song. love it and feel it.

  • This is for Spectroman10. In a interview before the concert in Portugal "alvalade" They said they were in another dimention of work, because of new equipment, modern times. Its prety normal Momentary lapse of reason was a complete new dimension , and that it would be alot diferent of all otheres. Remember that it was when they reunited again without Waters.

  • i read somwhere that gilmour has used a heavy metal pedal - was it on this solo??

  • Yes on the studio album of this song he uses one of the heavy metal pedals by Boss. A really cheap pedal. Gilmour uses a lot of Boss pedals such as the Boss CS-2 Compressor/Sustainer and Boss GE-7 (Graphic Equalizer). See gilmourish(.)com - thats where i found out. Its a site dedicated to knowing stuff about gilmour sound.

  • Pink Floyd wrote "Dogs".

  • A Momentary lapse of good music in their worst album ever.

  • it will grow on you - it did with me

  • Shame you feel that way. This is the record that got me into Floyd. Though, The Division Bell is my favorite.

  • it took a while for me to understand it. That and The Division Bell are now the 2 best albums in my opinion,

  • Interesting opinion, this probably my fourth or fifth favorite song on the album.

  • My favorite song on MLOR. Kick back under the stars and enjoy.

  • You guys should check out this song on Delicate Sound of Thunder... the best version by far.... it's a shame nobody has uploaded it yet... guess I'll have to do it myself someday....

  • Yeah, the 'Delicate' version is the bets by far!

  • KOTY!!!

  • My favorite band no doubt

  • one of my favorite floyd songs i like how most of their best songs arent that well known and they dont play them on the radio where im from its always Time,Money,Wish,Numb,LT fly,Cigar....92.5 fm in MN is where its at..

  • counldn't agree more

  • Definitely one my favorite Gilmour guitar solos. It pierces my ears into my my very being.

  • Well actually if anyone thinks of Pink Floyd he probably thinks of Progressive Rock, but of course no one can copy the sound of the Floyd. :]

  • 1 of their best songs.. has any1 heard that weird version with the satanic rock in like the middle of the song?

  • the studio album has the evilest meanest angiest guitar solo in the middle of the song. Gilmour used heavy metal effects pedal on here.

Is that the one you're talking about? If theres a meaner one, I'd like to hear it :D

in fact its my favorite gilmour solo of all time :)

  • We can't put this band in any style. This is the Pink Floyd style!! In my opinion is the greatest band ever playing live.

  • amazing, and will stay like that forever

  • Great Synths sounds, great drum sounds, great everything!

  • Amazing.

  • yes he is

    XD

  • I have a copy of this concert on my I pod. Incredible!!

  • 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason'(1987)is a great post Roger Waters Pink Floyd album. This song 'Yet Another Movie' and 'Terminal Frost' are excellent tracks...too bad these did not make it on 'Delicate Sound of Thunder' video footage. Speaking of...It would be great if they officially release the concert on DVD.

  • The Vision Of An Empty Bed!

    This song rule!

    Gives a very big charge!

  • I love this version of the song!

  • bah guri... som de prima!!!

  • Io C'ero...

  • mai si ripeterà un evento di questo livello....... pink floyd siete grandi !!!

  • "A man who ran, a child who cried

A girl who heard, a voice that lied

The sun that burned a fiery red

The vision of an empty bed"

... and it goes on like this. PINK FLOYD is a part of my life.
