Nocioni is seriously good, Deng better take it up another notch if he beats out Andres within the next season or two. With that said, he should get an extension offer regardless of if he beats out Noc or not.
Deng is younger and plays better man D then Nocioni, regardless of what other people say. Nocioni gets rep as a better defender sometimes because he is tough and husltes, but that doesnt equal a great defender. He's good, but Deng is better. Deng is underrated, he's never seen as a guy who has star potential even though he is just 21. He's doing his part in staying ahead of Noc, averaging 17.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg so far this season.

He's a 3rd year player next year. He's eligible to sign an extension NEXT year, not this year. This year was LeBron, Carmelo, Wade, Bosh, and Hinrich's year, next year will be Gordon, Deng, Howard, Nelson, etc, their year.
