Hopefully by now you have either replaced the Frig or found the problem. For those who need the answer....here it is now. I had the same noise and the tech replaced the circuit board and fan. It started again. It did not always happen. That was not the problem. Ice is building up next to the evaporater fan. What I did was rap it a couple of times with a hammer below the louvers. It stopped because the ice fell. I put a piece of fabric screen over the open louvers... Cured.

Open up the casing, locate the evaporator fan, clean out that area and the fan with a cloth and cotton sticks, and it should be good. That's how I fixed mine.

Evap fan is hitting ice inside, probably the defrost coil isn't working and letting frost build up.

@rhblakeman thanks for the info.. used a hair dryer for 5 minutes on mine and it fixed the noise!
