I love Osiposva, but this is not my favorite performance of hers (doesn't help that it looks like the pas de deux is being performed by two girls--her partner looks bizarre). For me, Terekhova's the definitive Diana, & I don't like some of the choreography here. Also prefer when Diana has her hunting bow (is it true that the Bolshoi eschews it, while the Kirov/Maryinsky includes it?). Seems like no one these days can jump like Osipova, though. In the DON Q broadcast from the Bolshoi--AMAZING!

Are you sure it's Natalia? Seriously she dances worse now i mean not as clean a she used to. And her feet on 1.11 - she hever had such a nice arc! What has become of her feet??
@AnitnelavCoeur She has nice feet just the shoes she wears dont show them off! GMs dont show off your feet very nicely which is why when we watch these old videos she was wearing russian shoes because she was still in school or hadn't found GMs yet

Yes, I do agree that she is behind the music for much of the time, but this is not a failing that is unique to her! So many dancers dance slightly behind the beat the whole time in their attempt to be lyrical. It's one of my pet peeves!
I don't think its her quality of movement thats off, I think its her musicality. She isn't about her movements and therefore she's late and imprecise. For example, the sissone penchee in her variation...but she was young here and know that now she would dance this exquisitely! "Uncertain" is definitely not a word that describes her nowadays!
kreulparis, I personally don't find Natalia masculine here. She *is* dancing "strong" but I think she has her acrobatic quality under control. She is supposed to be a goddess - I like her interpretation of this! It wouldn't do for Giselle though!
Natalia made her debut this July at the Met in New York City and the reviews were fantastic ! I saw her doing Les Sylphides...she was ethereal, simply amazing...I look forward to ABT's 2010 season to see her dancing again....Love her !!!!
