i have a new predetor shaft ive had for 3 months and every tip i get tends to flatten out even the original tip any answers to this problem and im not a very hard shooter
@thexdino2 you probably making breaks with it or too much moisture by blowing it or by cleaning the shaft in atouch of the tip with some cleansing stuff. thats why it goes mush.
@alphabetagiga NEVER, use sandpaper unless you need to thin your shaft down. Use steel wool/metal scouring pads, the type you clean dishes with. This just takes any grime off. If it still looks blue then go over it with very fine grade finishing sandpaper and burnish with a nylon fabric.
@Six3rdnRidah its true though, it happened to me before, i wanted that sleek smooth shaft for my bridging and the sandpaper thinned the shaft and weakened it t a point where i broke off and the ferrule and some of the shaft snapped!

@thexdino2 you probably have a really soft compound tip, try a medium compound, they seem to last longer
