  • It's sure an outstand instrument! today (29/02/2012) i went to a music shop and for the first time i saw that beautty. so, of corse, i played it for a while; What i felt playing was that this is an incredible instrument, but i missed another guitar to play along with me. So in my very personal opinion this is a marvelous instrument for jamming. Another thing to consider is the price. I live in Paris so here it costs over €3,000.00 !!!!!! So you gotta be professional and make money with it.

  • You can really tell he liked the guitar. Not by what he said, but just the way he played. Fuck, I wish I could own one.

  • I love it... so calming and mellow... I could fall asleep listening to stuff being played on that guitar :)

  • son of a mother duck, that sounds good. Love that deep, rich sound. Makes me wonder why I haven't picked up a baritone guitar yet...

  • The Don Potter demo is better.

  • this is good for pick , but not finger picking

  • can you imagine if andy mckee got his hands on one of these?

  • would someone explain the standard tuning better to me

  • @Epiphoneist1 Its B standard, low to hhigh: B E A D F# B i think. The two extra middle strings are simply octaves.

  • Want one.

  • Fab guitar but, importantly, does it come with a case? I imagine the headstock might cause problems with similar body-shaped guitars.

  • that's really somthing I'd buy!

  • good job Paul, that sounds brilliant!

  • I saw the name of this video and thought Sweet Jesus, accoustic djent.

  • Can someone tell me the song at 3:35?????????

  • @trainmasterxxx it's probably just improv from paul because they will get sued for copyright if they play actual songs

  • These rocker guys at Guitar World are so funny. A $3200 Taylor and they mic it up with a 57 that was probably lying up against the grill of a Marshall cab from a previous review.

  • @mikestibor1

Sounds incredible though. If a £50 SM57 can make it sound like that imagine what it would sound like miced with an expensive Condensor or Valve mic!

  • every review of this guitar has been strumming, no-one has demonstrated it as a fingerstyle instrument, which is where the baritone guitar really shines.

  • why soooo expensive? Is it made of gold and diamonds? It's just an acoustic, it has to cost at least 5 times cheaper.

  • I heard some where that they are gonna come out with a low budget model...any truth to this or not ?

  • Shred, blues, hard rock, and acoustic... This is where Paul SHINES!

  • One of your best demo's Paul and a great guitar also.

  • My sweet god if that little shure 57 is picking up that much tone from this taylor it must be freaking amazing.

  • Wow... blown away. i want this fuckin thing o.o

  • Awesome low end.

  • i thought it was in 8 string standard meanin F# B E A D G B E :L

  • Lovely bit of Damian Rice at 3:34

  • I want it...

  • i wanna hear the 12 string baritone

  • @DImaxguitar i'm salivating over the mere idea

  • Best demo of this guitar on Youtube.

  • A snark all instrument tuner would work well. Taylor are considering producing a budget model.

  • thats not the microphone I would choose for recording that guitar even though it is the most overrated hyped mic ever, but the guitar must be great, I just wish I could hear its full body, not that cut off 57 primitive resoponse. whatever happened to a akg414 or whatever othe condencer. a pearl, a sanken, a groovetubes for that sake, something that doesnt color the sound as much!

  • i really wonder why someone disliked this...

  • @popotopo99 Because they can't afford the guitar, the video may be taunting them... just a thought... xD

  • This is the best video about 8 strings barione acoustic guitars.!!

  • Comment removed

  • OK - does someone make a dedicated Baritone guitar tuner??

  • @CincoDeMayoMan any chromatic tuner that will tune down to the bass guitar register will tune a baritone. Ive never had a problem with any of mine.

  • The only two sounds I can compare those harmonics with are: an Alpha Male Lion's roar and a Ferrari's engine.

  • 1. Elixir came out with a set of strings for it.

    2. It should be on the street for about $2500.

  • Taylor would sell shit load more if they made a budget model

  • $3200 only...

  • i wish i had $3200 -_____-

  • Comment removed

  • you all realize that you could probably rig a cheap acoustic with the 2 xtra strings

  • @SinistrChevy Wow, it's so simple, isn't it? Try yourself and tell me what you make in the end.

  • @Synnergy08 lol didnt say it would be simple but achievable

  • the sound is great

  • i bet joni mitchell makes some insane shit with this guitar

  • i've just tested that guitar! IT SOUNDS AMAZING!! ZOMG!!

  • FUCKING EXPENCIVE !!!!!

  • this guitar sings to my penniless soul.

  • What's the song at the 4:15 mark?

  • @emojesusfreak22 probably something he made because if he played a song they could get copy right issues

  • Sounds like you were playing 9 Crimes by Damien Rice

  • I can only see six strings on this guitar where are the other2?

  • @yungbubbabush The D and G string's have an octave string next to it. It's a little hard to see.

  • ok, but were i find strings for this??

  • on the guitars

  • @fmassaretto If you can find the $3200 youll surely find the strings for it.

  • @GabrielRO8 I am looking for both!! is difficult :)

  • @fmassaretto Baritone strings can be only found online because their not common, p.s. they are not on guitarcenterDOTcom

  • @treutech I think even hard to find online. One option is what they commented here, buy 2 strings pack for 6 strings or buy for twelve guitar

  • @fmassaretto personaly i dont even have a "Baritone Guitar" i just have a normal 6 string acoustic and just put baritone strings on that and it still sounds good

  • @fmassaretto Harp store.

  • @Sethummms harp store?

  • @fmassaretto "Elixir Strings, pioneer of long life strings, has designed custom acoustic sets for Taylor's new 8-String and 6-String baritone guitars. "

  • @whisperrain It´s true, I found on ebay, thanks

  • @fmassaretto custom sets of just buy a set of 12 strings and throw out a few.

  • @fmassaretto just get 12 string guitar strings and dont use them all i guess

  • @stevebanana223 need to know if the two strings more, are that gauge to be correct, if combine ok

  • @fmassaretto If you're buying an instrument like this, you are probably already well acquainted with the process of building custom string sets. Also I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor partnered with D'Addario or someting to offer a set...either way, you'll be special ordering strings.

  • @SialoquentSam Just looked: Elixer makes a set.

  • Wow! This sounds beautiful! I especially like 4:15 mark.

  • i want that so bad...

  • is that an SM57??

  • GEE-ZUS!!! That is amazing!

  • i would totally buy that just for the 3:35 part..awesome

  • taylor makes some awesome guitars. paul should play acoustics more, i dont really like his electric demos

  • Honestly. I saw the title and was dubious, but shit me that blew me away. I NEED that guitar.

  • Sweet tone...i need to get my itchy finger on one...

  • I wonder what Antoine Dufour's "Reality" would sound like on that thing. Pretty badass I suppose.

  • Pause at 2:21 to see God. Did it on accident and my head exploded.

  • 3:40-4:05 sounds so great.

  • @ChevyManSS350 Look up "9 crimes" by damien rice ;)

  • And now lets hear it on a metal setting XD lol thisguitar is amazing btw

  • fucking amazing sound! i HAVE to have one.

  • by far d best guitar review by Paul...

  • so far d best guitar review by Paul...

  • i only see six strings on it

  • @KAZERLOKS lol.

  • @KAZERLOKS ...r u serious? lol

  • @KAZERLOKS look closer on the D and G string.

  • @walrussalad i noe i was messing around, i was just dissapointed

  • Paul is a badass guitar player... So much emotion he puts into his playing, it makes me cry (in a good way).

  • finally, an 8 string guitar i like.

  • Why not just make a 12-string bari ? I don't get the advantage of only the middle strings being octaves. You could always un-double the bass strings if you wanted to.

  • Damn, that things a tone monster...but something tells me that it's not really going to be affordable :(

  • great review paul

  • I was looking at one of these a couple months ago. I absolutly love it and still want it, such a beautiful sound.

  • Comment removed

  • wat song r u playin at 2:57?

  • Paul is queery.

  • @aguileogonzalez Yes, but WHO cares! Hes a great guitarist!

  • I wonder what picking this thing is like when only two of the strings have octaves.

The sound of this overall reminds me of Leo Kottke, who plays a Taylor 12, but tunes it down.

  • And now for a metal setting

  • C F A#a# D#d# G C i think the tuning is

  • ..what sucks is, I would always be favoring that B string....great sound..beautiful voice...cool new direction....32 hunge??..whoof....kick ass...

  • wow i was way skeptical but this guitar sounds so great. id love to own one someday

  • Paul should make an acoustic album

  • Comment removed

  • taylor=best acoustics

  • @eroticblack

don't forget about the beautifal acoustic guitars of Martin

  • might as well just get a 12 string taylor

  • Wow. I kinda like this. Too bad it's $3200

  • @EscpdFrmPsykward I would be totally willing to throw down about $1000 for this baby or something similar. But $3200 is alot of money to part with for one instrument. $2000 is my absolute limit for any piece of gear.

  • so fresh...

  • q charro suena no?

  • Dang that sounds AMAZING! I always thought the missing link with most acoustics was a strong bass response.

  • I can finally play Meshuggah unplugged!! Hahaha, but in all seriousness. That's a very nice sounding acoustic.

  • 3:34 BLS IN THIS RIVER

  • wouldnt a 9 string baritone make more sense if it is a hybrid 6 string baritone and 9 string

  • When I read the title for this I expected it to have 8 strings going from F# to B etc... Like a death metal acoustic guitar. Bummer.

  • this sounds awesome! but as a joke they should do a ten string.

  • Wow! Finally a Taylor that doesnt sound like an overly bright, sharp, overpriced piece of poop lol.well,I bet its still overpriced xD

  • i have to buy it

  • which two strings are doubled?

  • @acer993 I think it's the 3rd and 4th string

  • @acer993 D and G i guess

  • @acer993 D and G

  • @acer993 G and D i believe.

  • @acer993 THE FOUR MIDDLE ONES

  • Taylor the Best

  • wow!!

  • Ok now all I need is 3200 Euro...

  • I never fell in love within the first 5 seconds...until now.

  • Taylor guitars are f***ing amazing, but way out of my budget. I don't think they are expensive and I'm sure you get what you pay for, but the prices are high. Taylor guitars are very high quality guitars.

  • Paul's looking more and more homeless... I guess he could live in that acoustic...

  • and uhm... how much will this guitar cost Mr. Taylor...

  • must... have... NOW...

  • very impressive, ruch full tones.. gimme

  • Mind=blown

  • 3:35 sounds like 9 crimes, Damien Rice

  • wtf?but this is 6 string....

  • @ThePace96 two octave strings on the would be the d and g strings

  • @ThePace96

    Counting fail

  • @JerkyChid ...i dont see there any 8 string...i see 6 or they are double..

  • @ThePace96

Still 8 strings young one; though I do think there needs to be at least 1 baritone 7 string acoustic -tuned B to E- that doesn't cost as much as a car.

  • @ThePace96 yes it's an E A D d G g B e (the D and G are doubled)

  • @BorisDono You are right but the actual tuning is B E Aa Dd Gflat B

  • @BorisDono ah i tought its doubled...and thanks :D

  • Comment removed

  • 3:41 to 3:48.. sounds like drive by incubus hehe

  • Where are the other 2 strings? I only see 6.

  • @wickedexp i think they are in the middle, very close to the G and D strings like a 12 string guitar

  • @wickedexp 3rd and 4th strings ;)

  • i'm in love with this guitar!

  • Paul can really rock an acoustic guitar!

  • Damn,, this is the best acoustic sound I've ever heard.

  • @jasonyounMUSE agreed dude

  • @jasonyounMUSE Its NOT bad isn't it?

  • GW, did paul have a D.I. signal panned left and the SM57 signal panned right? Or were they just mixed and doubled with a quick stereo delay?

  • is the 8 strings suppose to make it sound warmer and more balanced?

  • wow the harmonics really sounds great

  • Sounds Beautiful! Nice playing Paul! Always appreciate a Finger picking demo on an acoustic, which you didn't do on this one!!!

  • give it to me

  • 8th lol wat does baritone guitars do? I don't get what there for

  • @21stCENTURYBOY12 they have a longer scale so you can tune lower without how your strings go loose

  • I'd go.... low B on the top very high A on the high E. Or C# on the low G string high B on the high E... my two excuses to get one of those.

but come on one manufactuer has to make 9 strngs that no string in "pairs" their 9 string the G and D of course.

  • DO WANT

  • 5th
