You know what I hated about these PS1 games even though I loved them to death, was the fact that the game froze up so much playing on ps1, maybe if i play it on PS2, because PS2 has a bigger fan, and can handle much more.

Twisted Metal 3 and 4 were amazing to me! I didn't know back then that it was made by another company and I couldn't care less! They were real Twisted Metal games and they're printed in my memory as well as the others are! And the intro to Twisted Metal 3...I couldn't get tired of it! I just loved how the missiles looked and their trajectory when they were fired, it's so smooth!

ya true, actually they are pretty crappy games, just in general and compared to twisted metal. the thing with auto assault, it was an rpg, but it was so unpopular, every server went down XD. and then full auto is another fail car combat game, but it just kinda gives a heads up to next gen car combat, but not close to tm. the only really familiar gameplay to twisted metal is some european game called hardware. rumors are that ps3 tm will be a sequel to that game.

It's sad that this game was probably the reason twisted metal started going downhill, I personally loved it, but after looking up things about it online, everyone hated it for it's excessive problems and errors, especially the physics. This was probably only because it has the monster of Twisted Metal 2 standing before it, and I mean..seriously..how can you compete? At least they 989 did alot better in twisted metal 4.
