That's because you're obviously a pathetic retard without any kind of understanding about motion capture/CGI technology who feels it necessary to air his ignorance to the world. If you're not busy watching a Pixar movie, perhaps check out the extras on Avatar and you might have something that approximates a clue about what Cameron accomplished technically with that movie.

I think this is probably the reason why it didn't win Best Picture in the 82nd Academy Awards because the story didn't quite add to the full. Besides it was pretty neccessary to give the Best Picture to Hurt Locker since it was directed by Katheryn Bigalow. If i assume correctly, she's the first female director to win an oscar as Best Director.

Wouldn't make my top 10 for films to watch at home BUT at the cinema? In a class of one. Absolutely immersive and complete and utter escapism, beautiful film that took my breath away. He plucked me from my seat and took me all the way to Pandora. Its truly astonishing cinema. Alright its not City Lights or There Will Be Blood or whatever but it was the best film ever made for the cinema, just not the best film ever made.

Avatar is just a movie with a similar storyline like Ferngully or Pochahontas. The main difference in Avatar is that the human was morphed into the creature and then got sent to go befriend the entire race of the creatures. Whereas in Ferngully or Pochahontas, both men were still in their human form and got into the situation unintentionally. All in all, it's the same basis of a storyline. That's like trying to make a war movie without opposing sides.

Dang it, I was waiting forever for him to say what film inspired him, and he picked the last film I wanted him to.

2001 is my favorite film ever, far outweighing every other Sci Fi film.

So 2001 is the best film, and Avatar is the highest selling. Avatar sucks BALLS compared to 2001. That said, I love Aliens and Terminators 1 and 2, so don't think I hate Cameron, I just hate NEW Cameron, and I was actually surprised that he said 2001 as inspiration, they're completely different films.

You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. 2001 is not only widely regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time, but it's THE reason why men even made it onto the moon, as well as being a very entertaining film, for a multitude of reasons. It lacks action, it lacks witty dialogue, but it doesn't require those to be a great film. Obviously you require those in order to like a film, which is a big problem on your part, not 2001's.

@Bassbait I just know what I like and I don't like slow paste films. Yes I do like fast paste movies cause I want to be entertain not put to sleep. And the world likes these types of movies because of the action and efx. Look at how high they gross. And as for 2001 being the greatest movie of all time, It seems any old or recent movie gets that title.

What's interesting is that no one talks about choreography, the movement on the screen...the battles and maneuvers are so thought out, and so dynamic...that it's like a visual dance. Is it Cameron we need to thank for this? King Kong had great moves too...the bronto dinosaurs falling down the mountain...the running along the cliff....perfectly realized for incredible thrills. So...I'm just saying...
