@phunkh tethered jailbreak means that when you turn your iDevice off or the battery dies, then it will be stuck on the apple logo and you need to go on the computer and tether boot to turn it back on. Untethered jailbreaks allow you to reboot your device normally. Tethered jailbreaks are more of a temporary solution until untethered jailbreaks are released.
