  • I'd say he's doing pretty good. He's gotten over 200,000 hits! The trouble is almost all of them from smartasses. Dell wishes he had this exposure.

  • I just hate the damn concept of powered parachutes, they suck, they fold over, put you in a death spiral and your lucky if you don't tear up the chute dragging it on the ground wile taking off and they look gay.

  • looks like a blackhawk

  • Rich Fuckers!!

  • This is a perfect example of 'more money than brains'.

  • It's hard to look cool when you have gone from pilot to teabag in 12 seconds.

  • Thanks for uploading! A forward launch says little wind... Little wind says longer run for takoff... beach and sand says difficult to run on.... sea out front says all or nothing take off.... water says death if landed in...

I think this pilot should hug his family he is lucky to be alive and this video is a great example of how not to choose a flying site and how to make bad decisions that add to the death toll and ruen the sport.

  • Hmmm. If he had only gone for training at BajaPPG.com nothing bad would ever happen to him. Probably wasn't a Flat-top unit on his back either, with the new special Search and Rescue lever attachment.

  • Well done for filming!

  • He should've given it more throttle

  • The good news is that he caught four nice fish in his parachute.

  • HE TELLS LIES IT WAS A CRASH!!!!

DON'T BELIEVE WHAT HE IS SAYING WATCH IT AGAIN!!!!

  • this is how being rich can kill you

  • The only smart thing about dis video is the lovely music on the background ! Can you give me the title on that music song ? Thank you

  • Wine coolers and a slight crosswind don't mix. The cheesy music is perfect for the visuals. Kudos.

  • Hahaha! It's always fun to watch other people make mistakes. Youtube has taught me a lot about PPG. What instructors can't teach me I figure this website can, and I hope I can avoid the situations that cause these bad results. I think here he was pulling on his brakes which will only increase drag to slow you down. It doesn't help keep the chute inflated real well. Ah... I was instructed by fellow PPG pilots and not true "instructors" though so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.

  • When taking off, always aim for the middle of the sky. Keep away from the edges and the bottom.

  • @chueffer Love your comment! It applies to all aviation!!

  • I'm a fixed wing private pilot, so I don't anything about this sport. But just looking at the setup, my experience tells me everything is wrong... wind, length of take-off, etc... Glad he didn't get hurt.

  • WATER LANDINGS, eeeh, not good for paragliders. it sux, i landed mine on shore in the water, pain in the ass to dry the glider.

  • Why is SPECTACULAR in the title?

  • His engine's flooded. Oh well. lol

  • Great, just what you need when relaxing on the beach, so cunt who cant fly (or he wouldn't have a parapente) with a motor buzzing around for half an hour whilst he hets enough height to fuck off!!

  • Umm yeah like the guy said under me and I'm not sure your not going anywhere today :) water in the gas tank nope it will be a while before you can get back up thr

  • Let me give you a little pointer. If you takeoff into the wind and longway on the beach instead of trying to walk on the water,I think you'll notice a big difference.OK , lets give it another try Spanky.

  • The only spectacular thing about this is the idiocy of the pilot. This is a very safe way to fly in the right hands.

  • Lucky that fan didn't shave off a couple of pounds.

  • I am so sad to see this - was the pilot drowned? She so nearly got into the air - this is such a dangerous way to fly.

  • Needs better equipment, more power Scotti!!! flat top and a cima k2! do it. great sense of humor! LOL!!!!

  • he lost his footing on the run up if you look closely lol

  • uuuuuuhhh how spectacular..

I think the only spectacular thing here is the ocean..

  • Was the "spectacular" part edited out?

  • all he need is an bath suit not an paraglider

  • I wouldn't exactly call it a "spectacular ocean crash"

  • That's a real bugger....gettin all your shit wet....cause you don't know where the wind is.

  • is that wing an old Apco santana?

  • hahahaha

  • internal combustion engines sure hate getting wet lol

  • What caused it to drop? Why didn't it pull up?

  • poor planning leads to piss poor performance, almost all failures in this sport can be traced back to the idiot making the decisions. Short beach, wing not stabilised, outcome obviuos. Shame.

  • No, this was planned ! The pilot said he was hot.

    :)

  • Sorry about the crash. I bet the video would have been a great one. It looks like you have tons of money invested in your gear and I wonder now, how expensive this crash must have been.

I also think that the pilot's positive attitude is a great for the kids that watch this and commend you for that .

I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this video

    peace.

  • he went fishing probable :()

  • I like the soothing, relaxing, and mellow music for such an occasion...LOL!

  • Too fat for the little motor...

  • EPIC FAIL

  • You walked away...that's all that matters!!!

  • like casual sex, ppg looks fun but its dangerous!

  • Dude, You shoul've bought a Flat Top.

  • Ops I did exactly the same 3years agoo

    so i understand you

Why did you **** you shold *** bla bla

Next time we know better then the other

  • jajajajajaja

    sspp

  • Must of had a very big lunch...but seriously everybody makes mistakes...we can all learn from this video, after eating wait 1 hour before you go swimming..Thanks for sharing Peace.V.

  • Thanks for the entertainment !

  • There is no humor in this, actually is very sad. Too many "veteran pilots" are "veteran idiots". Too many years flying without proper training at start = more difficult to train old dogs. No wind, poor thrust, he runs like a bradipo and finally he stalls the right side of the wing. Yes he is ready to fly... but engines aren't margaritas...they don't like salt. And where is the video of his next lunch with a wet glider?

  • I do not dissagree with your general premise that there are a lot of under-trained "veteran" PPG pilots out there. That being said, I assure you that the pilot in this video is highly competent. I will spare you his credencials but I arrure you he is one of the best pilots in Nort America. Just goes to show you that nobody's perfect!

  • Right... one of the best pilots in North America... Err... the level in the U.S. must be really high then (smirk).

  • @mpurdy007

yup shit happens.. I'm in skydiving and there are super champions that sometimes do rookies mistake.. that just can happen.

  • @mpurdy007 What we can't hear is the engine. Just one little hiccup and massive loss of power. In those conditions, in the video, everything would have to be near perfect. A hiccup in the engine isn't necessarily the pilots fault. It can happen at any time with a 2 stroke... I hate em....

  • @TSEBEHTMI1 I agree with mpurdy007 he is very good He has many years of trainning and flying I met him with a flying group. he also joinned several long distance flying expadition. His friends say hes a very very good pilot.and i've seen him launch on short beaches. everybody makes mistakes sometimes.

  • The embarrassment needle is pegged.

  • Watch out, that stuff is wet

  • LOL!!!

  • I wouldn't exactly call that spectacular

  • simple physics...if your gonna run like a grandma, you will need a bigger propeller....(E/mc2&(2pi)*sqrt(3.145826)) = speed in mph

  • Leave the the water and wait for high tide. Then go buy a real ultralite.

  • stupid

  • You gotta give it gas, man! LMAO!

  • KC is cool under pressure.

    Glad ok.

  • he still looked cool though, with his little garth brooks head set on. LOL!

    Funny as Hell.

    Glad he didn't get hurt.

  • sail didnt look big enough to me. prob worked with more head wind

  • this is why I love ultralights. Okay,,so we're here at the beach,,people standing around,,,dude shows up,,,put's on his pretty little hat,,,huge fan on his back,,,lays' out his bright colored chute,,,begging for attention,,he could be flying somewhere realistic,,instead,,he's setting up in a marginal area,,,guy's thinking,,wow,,what an idiot,,,girls looking at him all stary eyed,,then he proves,,,hey,,,look at me,,I suffer from the small penis syndrome,,,,SPLASH,,,,,takes a bath. LOL!!!!!!

  • This is why I love snotty GA types. Okay, so we're at my expensive hanger doing a 1 hr preflight, thinking about my last check flight and fees, announcing my flight plan, monitoring the radio...hey what am I doing here, anyway? When is the flying part? Is all my gaudy and expensive equipment intended to hide my insecurity from the world? Will they know that I am secretly jealous of the well-hung ultralight pilots? If my mom will let me use the computer, I'll comment on YouTube instead.

  • LOL,,,,look's like someone woke up,,,,,dude,,,,I would lay money on the fact that I've got wayyyyyyyyy more time in ultralights than you've got flying anythink, including your sofa. Seriously,,my frustration stem's from guy's flying these paragliders in marginal places,,,slowly eroding the safety record that these little units have. I have had to put up with the "snotty GA Types" since the late 80's while I was putting around the sky in my Weedhoppers, Quicksilvers, Phantoms, Tbirds,etc.....

  • Forget Snorkel, goggles. What you really need is a hair dryer. ha ha.

  • Good thing he carries a PFD (personal flotation device) or some kind of float device for his propulsion device (engine, prop, fuel, etc.).

    NOT.

Hope he is a good swimmer and can keep the entire rig afloat when it flames-out over the ocean.

    Safety First. Mission Second.

  • the guy talking sounds like david rock from "davidsfarm"

  • epic fail

  • Awesome ocean view from those things! So close you can taste it.

  • So you took a dip Casy?(pause) What did you say you smart ass little s*^#@!!Whack!POW! These frames were deleted.LOL!This is a funny video.

  • perfect, only forget to turn for the trees

  • 1 used PPG for sale. Recently washed! LOL!

  • sounds like a carfax commercial ha

  • Glad you were wearing a helmet but I noticed you were missing a few essential items; snorkel and mask.... LOL.

  • aahahahaha!! loooooool

  • Lift MUST equal weight. Thrust MUST equal drag. Airspeed creates lift, which creates drag, which reduces airspeed. Your engine couldn't overcome weight and drag at the same time, even if the wing is able to glide with the weight.

  • lmao!

  • You invented a new sport! PPD! Powered Para Diving!

  • Dude, you need something more powerful for that kind of short runway, like a Simonini, with plenty of extra thrust to save your ass in a situation like this.

  • I tried to post a link to Richard Thompson's truly amazing version of this song but it doesn't seem to work. Anyway, it's on youtube so just search for yourself and enjoy!

  • ancoraluna - The music is, "She moved through the fair", a traditional Irish folksong. Can't help you with the version. Extra bit of trivia: "Belfast Child" by Simple Minds is based on the melody.

  • First, learn the difernce between parachute and paraglider...

  • You're too stupid & ugly to be gay.

  • GEE, I think I want one of those!!

  • argh thats sick i have had my wing wet quite a bit but not that bad

  • I wouldn't used the term "spectacular".

    Uninteresting, maybe....

  • I HATE no wind launches... but I love the music. Glad you are ok.

  • Shoud be mike oldfield ore not? ma be you know the name of the album?

  • ROTFFLMFAO

  • With little or no wind as it appeared the better option is down the beach rather than toward the water. Glad you weren't harmed.

  • The best flyer ever!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool.

  • wow casey, did the prop break?

  • at least you walked away fine and had a good atitude about it:)

  • Very nice place, hope you could fly later safely!

  • Didn't see that in Gourmet PPG, glad he's ok, funny though.
