Sorry mate, but this comparing can't be advisable for anyone. Especially on overdriven channels, because of setting your cam in one place, when amps are in two another sites. You should set it in the similar places to both. Next thing is that comparing head with 4x12 cabinet to 1x12 combo isn't really wise to show what amps can give.

THe G3 has more depth to its tone. IT doesnt sound as dry and stale as the G2. I do agree with the other reviewers that you should played more then palm mutes and power chords

no really this is terrible, but yeah, don't use a 150 Valve Dynamic randall head for just a clean sound.....if you do at least turn the reverb all the way up and use a neck pick up for christs sake.

The Valve-Dynamic uses a 12at7 as a POWER TUBE. It's used as a low power (.05 watt before clippage) volume/warmth boost directly before the power amp.

in other words it won't give you a true tube tone by any means. It just adds a touch of compression. There is a randall that has a full working tube preamp set and a MOFSET poweramp. It's the XL series and the amp is the V2. Michael Amott dropped Krank in favour of these.

Correct. The V2/T2 has the same style of power section, but both have tubes in the preamp.

The G3/G3+ series just has the one tube that doesn't really do anything.

hey, i got the same combo amp, but i can't seem to get that crunch you have on the second gain. i have it maxed out and it's no where near as distorted. My Amp sounds like your gain 1 setting on my second gain... if that made sense haha. if you know of anything i could possibly be doing wrong i'd appreciate if you let me know haha

Well, i used the RG75G2 alone for a long time and using it with a 4x12 cab give a really stronger sound !!!

but i have to say that the webcam give a mid scooped sound, don't believe it's so agressive for real...

i also own 2 randalls. randall is the best. i have 2 heads. a randall rh100. it has an option of 100 or 120 watts. the other is rh200. 200 or 220 watts. they are solid state. i think your head is tube. i am buying that next but i think i will go for the upgraded 300 watt. could you tell me what the shit on the back of the head means? there is a swich for an option of lft or gnd

Nope !!! G3 randall amps are hybrid:

solid state for the pre amp

tube + mosfet for the power amp

(and not the opposite... look randall website if you don't believe...)

the small switch on the back of the head is used to cut the 50Hz (or 60Hz, depends where you live) that could give problem if you have a crappy electric installation...

I used average settings for the samples, but i usualy play with bass at 4, medium at 6 and treble at 3.5
