I like ns but I hate it at the same time. If feels way too unbalanced. Good fades are overpowered, bunny hopping skulks ruin it, and some people are just too good. Now that less people play it most of the ones who have stayed are insanely good. It's just not fun playing in a game with a fade who has a score of 90 and 2 because he takes pot shots and blinks away before anyone can kill him.

I love NS. I remember eagerly awaiting the download on fileplanet WAY back when. Still, I think the game is fundamentally flawed at it's core. The marines have this one, omnipotent player that can easy locate and track all enemy movement and simultaneously guide the other marines. The aliens do NOT have this. I can't count how many games I lost on aliens with five or so Onos vs a team of marines with start level gear. All because they insisted on rushing in one at a time.

NS is awesome, but the true genius is in in the game Aliens vs Predator 2 playing online matches. Some of the best survival team vs team games ever.

It's also a completely awesome single player game. You can be a marine, a predator or an alien. It's like 3 games in one.

This is by far my favorite HL1 mod :D Been playing it for years now and I still can't get enough :P NS maps are better than CO maps imo :o

CO is what ruined this mod forever. Instead of bringing more serious players, it brought in retards, which then abandoned the mod. The old players, including me, were really pissed off. So what happened ? You can barely get a fucking good normal NS game anymore. This video I made could be seen as a documentary soon. It just ain't funny. Fuck you Flayra for your shitty Combat mode. I don't give a crap that he created this mod. The fact that he fucked it up for everyone makes him a douchebag.

@Killerratte Even though Your comment is 2 years old, i figured i'd reply anyway b/c it's so true today still. All the fags are still in CO, there's like 20 CO servers, and only 3/4 actual NS servers.

All i can say is, I'm glad i got NS2. The servers are all the default mode (don't know if CO is in or not) and It's way more team oriented and tactical. All the features may not have been implemented yet but It was well worth it. I can't wait until they get everything in and clean up the netcode.

Myself, I find both modes very difficult, but classic I somewhat understand. Their Hive spawns somewhere random. And they can even make hives..

Aliens/dinosaurs lol I'll never learn to use. Hop back in man, think it's the BAD servers. They always have a combat and classic server going, two servers, lots of play.
