Definitely. I saw it when it was new in the theaters. I can see where a flick like this isn't Oscar material, but I think it's far better than it ever got credit for. I found the book a few years ago. Would you believe that Despi was Buddy's girlfriend, not Richie's like in the movie? And the part where they busted up the hustlers in the bowling alley happened near the end. (The movie biz always always makes big changes in the original story.)
