I was afraid they would move, or their laguz gaurd woiuld attack. SO I never tried to fight them. There was no way I was gonna lose any of my Dawn Brigade characters. I maaxed my Soren and Ike all the way. If I knew Soren never ever moved, I would have gotten much more closer. lol Before Turn 10,  Ike's just frozen up to turn 10. Soren's frozen all the way. lol Guarding the exit.

I have no idea, I think it was planned but not done in the end result. A lot of things were left out. Example, Tauroneo has his own line when Tormod and his gang come in to help Sothe for the first seize chapter. He says something like "Ah, I remember these familiar faces." from what I remember.

because the greil mersanaries move at the end of the fight and sometimes soren can get to plus you do have the purge which can hit a far range

@xdragonxx25 i am a massive fan of the sword users. so usually I either have zihark or edward as a trueblade by this level, and they dodge soren and ikes attacks. leaving them defenseless. I also use micaiahs 'direct' ability to move all partners units to where the enemy is located after I have built up a defense to the entrance with my own units.

I usually move them in the middle just a few squares above where ike is located (so that he doesnt kill them) . then I direct them to roam. and they take out the laguz while I kill ike. it usually takes me above 7-9 turns to accomplish all this

Weird, in most of my playthroughs my Michaih was actually well...a goddess. She maxed out [or was close to maxing out] Speed, maxed Magic, Luck and Almost maxed out her skill. She was also able to Solo most of Part 4 Prologue by herself [with Sothe behind her, for evasion...]. Then again personal experience means nothing... ;-;

ya what i like about this game is any unit can be good. they tweaked the growths to make it so that once you cap a stat it helps growths of other stats so like if u cap hp your speed growth increases slightly but enough to make a huge difference. when ur stats keep maxing it only makes it easier to max more stats and the with those max even more stats. i got a perfect micaiah nailah naesala vika and a few other in a few of my playthroughs even without blossom

I only ever raised Micaiah once. To be honest, when she reached her final lv, she wasn't that great. =l I always raise Soren though. He's always his final lv by this chapter when I play through. =P So he could kill us all. When I do this chapter, I have Shinon, Rhys, Oscar, and Ike, coming at me at really high lvs. Almost their final lvs. lol And I only use Leonardo, Edward, and Volug to fight back. Sometimes Sothe but ... I could never fight and kill any of the Greil Mercenaries.

Yeah, you don't even need much. Sleep + Magic (Laura) + brave weapon = Ike retreating.

hey on normal mode i did that level and none of my peeps died!

The strategy is to have ur crappy chars in the middle bit where laguz can't get you because its a ledge, preferably ranged i guess. Then let your allied units hold out for a few turns and then hold off the laguz, then when Ike starts coming you run like hell!

OH! And make sure you unequip ragnell at the end of the last chapter, I won't explain why.

That's right. I played twice on normal and once on easy using that strategy. You have to. Any idiot who doesn't use at least Ike (if not also Soren and Shinon) is screwing himself, and when used even a tiny bit, Ike is a completely over-powered bad-ass. I couldn't even get a lvl 15 Zihark trueblade to take him out.

@mathewchui that's what i did; i put turauneo and leonardo (javelin and ludasnagh) on the ledge with ally right next to me and had sothe go on one side (beast killer) and volug nolan aran edward on the other side; just played defence til ike & mercs started coming then RUN LIKE HELL :D

I was able to kill Soren( Level 13 Archsage) with just an Eddie(lvl 15 Swordmaster) with a Brave sword. Sothe would be able to double and not get hit due to height bonus and it wouldn't be too hard to kill him if the rest inflict a bit of damage.
